LFG A Refugee Crisis

Hello all! So, I have recently returned from LOA, and to say things seem to have developed rapidly on the site would be an understatement. Most exciting for me though is the developments in the Core worlds and the greater conflict in general, and while there is plenty of action and story to tell there, I want to look in a different direction. Gil Horn, my favorite of characters, is a Jedi that has seen a lot and dealt with a quite a bit despite his relative youth, and while he is willing to fight the good fight, he knows there are many in need that just need to be protected, cared for, and guided in building a new home.

So, I was hoping to start a bit of an extended storyline for anyone that might be interested. While the conflict in the Core continues, Gil will be traveling into the Unknown Regions with refugees fleeing the conflict. There, they will be forced to confront the dangers still lurking in that region of space, looking for a new home to call their own, and when the time comes, establishing a new beacon of hope in a galaxy growing darker by the day. I am hoping this to be a relatively long storyline with plenty of action of its own, but also character development and the hard questions and struggle for survival on the edge of civilization. In the distant future, I do hope to create a faction from this story, but that will come from natural development and the interest of others.

If the idea of helping refugees find a new home, protecting them from pirates and assorted other threats, and questioning the hard facts of life in a war torn galaxy, please let me know. I am currently finalizing the final details of the idea but would love to get some input or suggestions for some story points or developments you might have!

I'd be interested in writing with you. Kaiah is a former DS force user who's been wandering the unknown regions without a home for some time. I've also wanted to give her a redemptive arc, and helping refugees sounds perfect.

Perhaps she and Gil could meet, and slowly turn from reluctantly working together to steadfast allies. I'm also happy to write alone or with others.

The Commonwealth is open to helping those who wish it so. While a Sith Vassal State, they have been granted a lot of autonomy, and are a paradox of benevolent autocracy. Plenty of worlds and resources available to help refugees.

The Commonwealth is a collection of former First Order worlds holding together. And have helped the Scar Worlds' Refugees and before that the Echani and Chiss from various galactic conflicts in the past.

GA Actually has a thread happening right now regarding the whole Refugee thing as a heads up. It is more focused towards Senators primarily but there is room for general aid/soup kitchen style stuff in it.

So a little OoC question. Since there's very few known planets in that area of space. Would there be new areas being found for the refugees to live on?

Well, Jedi have to believe in people being able to change, or work for a good cause, so that will be a fun story angle. I am interested!

Yes I am planning on there being a few storylines where this huge planet shift that has happened in the galaxy has led to the discovery of new, formerly hidden worlds. Some inhabited, others not, and the refugees and their supporters will be seeking them out to start new lives there.

It’s not exactly unknown space, but Mahporeem is always looking for workers, especially those who are mechanically and technologically gifted. Granted, we’re part of the Imperial Confederation but we know the value of hardworking, honest people and aliens!
