Private A Lucky Break

751px-Florrum_settlements.jpg

Location: Florrum

Somewhere in a canyon, a ship is starting to land on an open area with geysers all around, as it slowly descend it self to the ground. It finally landed as it made the ground tremble a bit, whilst the sounds of engine and steam roars until it slowly come quiet. The ship engine has been turned off, as moments later the ship docking bay open and lowered it self. A man in white Mandalorian armor is seen on top of the ship entrance, as he then slowly step off the ship, holding a datapad on his right hand. He begin to look around his surrounding to scan for any hostiles that may have spotted him, which he then confirmed a few moments later he was in the clear. He stood next to the the ship, as he open his datapad, scrolling with his index finger to find the data he needed. Moments later he found the data, it was contract, where it says a group of pirates had stolen a large cargo of spices from the Pikes, which was going to be distributed to the planets on the inner rim, this was the 3rd time someone has hijacked the Pikes spice cargos. The cargo was stolen a few days ago, as it was attack in space by 3 pirates ships, stealing all their cargo whilst killing all the crew delivering it. It continue to explain that the pirates was last seen headed to the Seertar Sector on the outer rim. The ship carrying the spices was supposed to be a secret and no one was supposed to be able to know the cargo it carried or even it destination route. The contract states to find the spices and find out how the pirates were able to get the information regarding the spices that were being delivered, once those two criteria has been met, the order was to kill all the pirates on the location and retrieved the spice back to the Pikes. The Mandalorian then shut his datapad then turning his body towards his ship entrance, as he heads back inside his ship. He heads over to the cockpit, he then took a seat as he opens his comms for incoming transmission. The Mandalorian looks over to the right side of the cockpit, where there's a rough looking notebook which seems to have been used for years. He grabs it as his eyes gazes the front cover, it has an a Mandalorian symbol, and the bottom it says Garand of Clan Inho. He hover the writing, which contains a handwritten note he had written through out the years. Moments later he then he put it back, as he continue to find any transmission on the comms. The reason why Garand is fiddling with his comms, is because he's waiting for another Bounty Hunter who he will be working with. It will be the first time he's going to work with anyone since his Bounty Hunting chapter begun. The Pikes enlisted 2 bounty hunter to finish the matter, and Garand is one of them. His new acquaintances on this contract is a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter called Rocho Rocho , this quite intrigued Garand, as he never really got to know a Trandoshan. Garand is looking forwards to seeing how a Trandoshan and a veteran Bounty Hunter work, as it will help him learn something from this encounter. Either way, Garand and Rocho are supposed to meet up in Florrum at the position where Garand is. Once they're here, they can begin their planning and start to take care of the pirates. Garand then muttered to himself as he continue to fiddle with the comms,

"Hope everything goes well"
"Can't have another failure with a job"

This will be Garand 6th contract, he has failed his first 4 and only completed his 5th due to complicated reason. Garand is eager to have a good hunting and complete a job as he can't keep failing and bring dishonor towards the Mandalorian and his Clan. With another bounty hunter working with him, inside he's quite glad, as it will minimize the chance of failure for the job. He's been taking jobs solo so far, until now, with hope it will change his tiding in his Bounty Hunting Chapter.

Rocho stood at the head of the-challenger. The Trandoshan was soon on his way. He'd leave his droids on board, as typical. They were only present to guard his ship, not for the hunt itself. He looked out of the ship's viewport as he began to make his way down, noting that Garand Inho Garand Inho already had beaten him there.

The challenge was to beat these pirates who kept managing to steal spices, even when there should be no way for them to know where to hit. It was an interesting conundrum. In truth, it didn't matter how they were doing it to Rocho. All he cared about, was how much of a fight they were going to put up. Still, the job involved learning, so he'd do his best to learn. He was quite sure if investigation didn't provide clues, he could rip them from one of the pirates.

He would be working with a mandalorian, wasn't the first time. He'd done it several times in the past, whether on a hunt or in war. They were a group that deserved respect. Their culture differed from Rocho's somewhat he knew, their reason for fighting and what they took from it varied. But, they produced individual that Rocho believed the Scorekeeper would find worthy. As he hoped she found him to be.

The ship landed nearby the ship of Garand Inho Garand Inho at Florrum. He went to the exit of the ship, arming himself as he did so. Whether or not Garand was an ally, it would be idiotic to leave his ship unarmed. They were here for the purpose of violence, after-all.

Equipment:
heklerkok-tdl-1-tempest (strapped to his back, extra ammunition on straps.)
PS-1 Particle Shotgun at side (Extra ammunition on belt and legs.)
t-7-vibro-brace ( left arm.)
g-11-shield-gauntlet ( right arm)
Hekler'Kok LA-2 Light Armor (Isn't wearing shoes, helmet, or gloves.)
The Beast: (Worn on back)

Garand saw a ship descending to his vicinity, as it slowly lands near his ship. He exited the cockpit, as he went to the back of the ship towards his equipment locker so he could grab all the necessities for the hunt. Once he is in front of the locker, he took his rifle and placed it on his back, as he then also took some projectile weapons such as grenades. Garand knew he'll need some explosive in this hunt as they're going after a group of pirates, who's most likely will be holed up in a building. He might need to blow a few places to get the job done, which is why he brought some detpack. Once he grab the necessary equipment from the locker, he begin to check his Wrist-Mounted Personal Weapon System, where a lot his darts and grapple are located, it is one of the few equipment that is necessary for someone like him. With all of the equipment pack, he starts to walk towards the exit whilst grabbing his med kit from a supply box near the exit as he then placed in one the back of his belt.

"Right, time to meet him"
"lets hope we get along"

Garand muttered to himself, as he stepped down from his ship as he walks towards Rocho Rocho ship. Garand stops his tracks as he is in front of the ship exit, he waits for him to step off his ship, with his hand straight down so he won't mistake him as hostile. Even though it's not the typical mindset for a Mandalorian, he's quite eager to meet Rocho and can't wait to fight along side him. Garand is the oddball within his Clan, even amongst Mandalorian, he is considered different.

Rocho stepped out of his ship. Garand might use hand thrown weapons, Rocho found the Tempest to be a bit more effecient for ranged use of grenades. This was mostly Thermal Detonators however, their power was considerable which meant they could prove very effective. He looked at the mandalorian. He didn't have nearly as many on suit weapons as they often did, but he did have the advantage of his biology. Accelerated hearing, superior eyesight, considerable strength, and claws, all made useful when it came to fighting.

He approached. Hands also down, aside from a simple head nod. "So, you're the mandalorian I'm going to work with." he stated simply, his clawed hand reached out, "Looking forward to working with you."

A simple greeting and sign of cooperation. He had no intention of creating ill will between anyone he was working with. They had an objective to complete and any strife could only worsen their chances of success. And success was extremely important to the trandoshan.

Garand Inho Garand Inho

He finally meet face to face with the Trandoshan his working with, as he stood in front of him, giving Garand a short greeting. Garand greets the Trandoshan with a simple nod as he said,

"I'm Garand, from Clan Inho"
"The feelings mutual, it will be quite the experience working with you"
"Now onto the task at hands"

Garand then grabs a holoprojector from his side pocket, as he then turn it on, which shows an abandoned mining site, it has an entrance which leads deeper undergrounds, and possibly to many passages. Garand found the site when he was doing a quick search around the area before he landed, but wasn't able to get a good look in case he'll get spotted. It would be a perfect spot to hide for pirates and especially store their newly stolen Spices. Since they'll be dealing with a band of pirates in their home, they'll most likely be facing up against 25-44 pirates, so thinning their numbers first will be the best scenario. They may have post some guards outside the mining site in case someone is approaching and they'll be able to warn everyone, but they wont scout outside too much so they won't give their position away. Garand proceed to continue to begin his briefing onto Rocho Rocho ,

"From what i found this will be the likeliest place they be holed up in"
"I've yet to scout for more details on the location, as i've only arrive not to long ago here"
"What i'm worried is that even if we found them in there, they may have stashed the spice cargo somewhere else"

Garand then points towards the sides of the mining sites,

"Since it's a mining site, they're may be other entrances other than the main one"
"We can scout it first before we proceed, how does that sound?"

He ask Rocho, so he can give any input regarding their plan and what their first move should be. Florrum isn't exactly an tourist site, so there isn't much building or structure in the area, so it won't be to hard to find their exact place should the mining site turns out to be a bust.

"Rocho Krul." He responded to the introduction. He watched, cocking his head at the holo-image as they went over the information they had. Course...they could bomb it. But that would be stupid. If there were pirates that weren't present then they'd not only alert them but would potentially lose any chance at finding out how the pirates found out. Also it posed issues if there were any non-targets inside.

Garand Inho Garand Inho suggested they scout first, then go forwards onto a further planning stage. Rocho took in a breath thinking as he looked over their options, under the assumption that the pirates were indeed in that location. If they did go in, mines were notorious for cave-ins, and he didn't feel like dying that way if it turned out to be a trap.

"Yes, scouting first seems the best plan. Do you have any probe droids? If not, we can do this the old fashioned way. Binoculars and stealth." He said, a clawed finger tapping his arm as he crossed them, "If we could get one of the local wildlife to obey, we could also potentially use them to get closer without giving us away. Might help avoid getting seen while we get a closer look. Or for if we decide to use that as a way to get in close."

"Unfortunately i don't have any probe droid"
"And if you're looking local wildlife, i saw a few Skalder near the geyser at the south not to far from our location"
"They're a pack animals so it won't be to hard to gather them"

Garand point his finger to the south, as he put his holoprojector back into his side pocket. Garand then head back to his ship to close the docking bay and lock down the ship, as they're going to head out. Once he had locked his ship, he returned to Rocho so they can go to the geyser where the Skalders are. Garand then start to walk ahead towards their first destination, as Rocho Rocho will follow suit. As long as the geyser has yet to erupt, there will be some Skalder around as that's where they quenched their thirst. Skalder were a species of surprisingly fast quadrupeds native to the plains of the planet Florrum. They're not the easiest species to be ridden, but it's still possible for one who's an experienced tamer. After walking for awhile they final reach near the geyser, where there they find a pack of Skalder having a rest. Garand lay low, so they won't alert the Skalder and make them run away from the geyser. Garand has been trained to handle animal, but he's not sure if he'll be able to tame a Skalder.

"There they are"
"How many do we need for our ride there?"

He asked Rocho as he was the one suggested the idea, so perhaps he's used to do this sort of thing as Garand thought to himself. Garand has a sleep and tranquillizer dart on his wrist launcher, as he check and readies it, if they need to use it.

Garand Inho Garand Inho (SORRY! I thought I responded to this)

The man pointed to where there should be some creatures available. Skalders, big enough to hide behind. Issue would come to making it obey. Rocho was not a tamer and unlike many other force users he didn't use mind tricks or telepathy much, those were simply not abilities that fit well in his practice, personally. However here it would have been more convenient.

Rocho kept his eyes on the creatures thinking it over. He could forcefully put one into submission, but that didn't mean he could teach it where to go. This posed some natural issues of how to guide one towards the location. A muzzle might be too apparent, but it'd certainly help them get close while not having to rely as much on the creature just obeying orders. Then it just came down to speed.

Garand asked how many, "One might work best, a lone wanderer. Otherwise he'd need to get them to herd towards the location as a group, and I don't know if they would follow that discreetly. Unfortunately I don't know if I can guide them there without it being noticed. They're big enough we could hide straps on them, and guide them, but they also might just run full speed once latched onto the side of one. And then that wouldn't help us much." he said groaning. One option was to tranquilize it when getting nearby the location. Let the creature slump to the ground giving them enough time to look at the location from a distance, but not arouse too much suspicion as they may just assume the creature exhausted itself. Then when it gets back up guide it far enough away again.

"Probably why I prefer forests. Don't need to control other creatures to get places. You just need to be quiet and good at using trees. We could use straps to hold ourselves to the side and guide its head, making it run us to the location. Tranquilize it so that it stops, then watch until it wakes up and we leave again. Not familiar enough with local wildlife, so I can't say for sure if that'd work yet."

"All right then, let's see if we can find a stray"

Garand then lower the antenna on his helmet, so he can zoom in the area to find a stray skalder. He hovers from his left to his right, gazing his surrounding to find a stray so he can try to tame it or at least get his hand on it. He then saw one near a small a rocky hill, as it seems to be resting within the shades. Garand holds off on using any darts on it, as he's unsure if it will pierce its skin, as it seems to be quite thick from what he saw. Garand stood up as he is going to try to sneak up on the resting Skalder, he'll go around and sneak from the back to surprise the skalder. He looks over at Rocho Rocho before he starts to head over to it,

"I'll sneak up from behind while you go with a straight route incase it notice me and tries to escape"
"If i'm not able to get to him before he notice me, try to block him off and subdue it with brute force"

Garand begin to head over to the resting skalder, as he goes around to try to flank it before it wakes up. Garand plan is to ride on his back and try to control it, as he theorize the best way to subdue a 4 legged animals is riding him and try to dominate. He had tried it a couple of time on a few other species and it worked 75% of the time, so its worth a shot. Garand continue to hurry himself to get into position behind the Skalder, as he soon closes in on it. As moments later he's finally near the creature, hiding behind the side of the small hill where the Skalder is resting on its shades. It hasn't notice him so far, meaning it's not something the species used to, which was being stalked. He walks slowly as he nears him, as he's only a few meters from being able to get on it. Garand goes over to the sides of the Skalder to get into a position where it will be easier to get on its back and ride it. Garand readies himself, as moment later he jump on its back whilst trying to position himself. The sleeping skalder wakes up the moment Garand was on its back, as it then stood up and began to run in a panic manner. The skalder tries to shakes Garand off, by running from sides to sides and making jumping movement to try to throw him off balance. Garand tries as best he could to stay on his back as he balance himself so he doesn't get knocked off, thankfully due to the Skalder rough skins it wasn't slippery and made it hard to fell easily. Garand tries to find a way to subdue and control the Skalder, as he first try to use a line to control his head to see if it will follow where Garand tries to pull. He throws a line around the skalder mouth so he'll have something to pull and force the Skalder to follow his control. It slowly follow the pull of the line Garand had placed, but still continue to try to shake him off. Minutes later the Skalder began to slow down and began to calm it self, as it doesn't sway its body heavily anymore. Garand had finally got control over the Skalder, he thought to himself he got lucky with it. Garand then headover to Rocho so they can start to head on over to the pirates location, they'll need to prepare the Skalder to make it look beliveable when they head on over there. Once Garand is right next to Rocho, he begand to speak to him as he says,

"That was a close one, almost knocked off a few time there"
"I think the hump on its back is big enough to hide with when we scout over the pirate location"
"There maybe some herd that might go past the location so we can blend in with it"
"We can start heading over the location now, i suppose"

Rocho nodded as Garand Inho Garand Inho told him where to go in case his plan didn't work out. The Trandoshan did as he said, trying not to attract much attention from the creatures. Best to let Garand do whatever he was going to, however he was going to.

Really, watch was all he could do as Garand straddled the creature as it bucked and scrambled trying to remove the sentient from its back. Unsuccessful of course. Rocho crossed his arms, impressed at the effort required for something like that. Riding something for a time was one thing, waiting out its patience and stamina was another. He generally only attempted something like that in order to kill the creature. Not to subdue it like this. He'd have to keep that in mind. It certainly deserved some respect.

Rocho shook his head with a chuckle at the comment of it nearly knocking him off, "Nearly maybe. But you persevered. Well done I will remember that." he said simply.

The Trandoshan nodded as he said they could head over with the heard, and that the hump of the creature would be enough to hide them. "Little extra rope and we can hang from the side easy enough. Should be too small for them to notice from a distance. We could be thorough and try and color the rope. But I doubt they're going to be looking for ropes on a single beast like this. So however you want to work this is good."
