A Long Lost Technological Terror [OPEN]

spacestationc.png
Rumors began to spread throughout the intelligence networks of the galaxy. Word was that the schematics to a long lost technological terror were on a space station in the far corner of the Unknown Regions. Supposedly beyond the reach of the Chiss, this space station was said to be both abandoned as well as shielded by a surrounding nebula.

The origin of the whispering was an old, Nagai space explorer. He attempted to contact private salvagers saying that he had discovered an old space station that had blueprints to an ancient weapon. His reason for not actually having this schematic remained unknown.

However, intelligence agencies as well as those connected to infochants quickly caught wind of this Nagai's discovery. This gave multiple factions within the galaxy the chance to discover the truth of this gossip - as well as potentially reap the rewards for finding it.

For the time being, the old, Nagai explorer spent his time - alone - at a grungy dive bar on Cormit, a Chiss border world. It appeared from his general demeanor that something saddening had happened recently despite having the chance to make decent money.

~After four years of quietly learning about this new galaxy i finds myself in, traveling star by star. I catch wind of this old explorer and set a course for Cormit~

The young man known as Jor'si Denko was a great many things. First and foremost, he was a Force-sensitive who had thrown in his lot with the Jedi Order, and by extension the Galactic Republic. Second, he was a native of the Hutt moon Nar Shaddaa. Through his former occupation as a bartender upon the sordid Hutt moon, going by the alias "Sirota the Barkeep", Jor'si gained and maintained connections to the criminal underworld. Though he did not partake in any illegal or violent activities, he did occassionally exploit the vast multitude of information which came and went through the underworld channels. Amongst this ocean of intelligence came a rumor that piqued the young, potential-Jedi's interest: whispers of an ancient space station of great power residing somewhere within the Unknown Regions.

'Most...interesting...' was he rationale. This station held the potential to give the Republic a much-needed edge over the Sith Empire which seemed to be growing with each and every passing day. Eager to prove himself, Jor'si collected his relatively small cluster of belongings and hopped aboard a planetary transport bound for Chiss space: his mission to investigate the origin of this rumor and to ultimately bring this station into the Republic control. According to his sources, Jor'si was to seek out an old Nagai who frequented a grungy dive bar on Cormit; so the young man set out for that precise spot. He arrived only a few moments following the Sith, though he did recognize him as thus.

The young man's eyes swept across the bar until he found one that he had intended to find. A coy smile wormed its way upon the young man's face as he strode across the bar, playing upon his Zeltron roots in order to imprint the emotion of calm upon his target. He didn't want the man to run away spooked after all. Coming to a halt, he slid onto the barstool beside the explorer and greeted him with a smile.

"Afternoon...what's good to drink here?"

Having finaly arived at his destination. The man now called Frigus walked into the seedy, well worn establishment. He approached the bar to order a drink, not wanting to be to obvious about his intent just yet. Although he had spoted the old explorer as soon as he had walked in. Opening his mouth to order he suddenly felt a light ripp;e in the force behind him. He glances over his shoulder spotting the young brakish man with a smile walking straight toward his target. Damn! I didnt anticipate they would be here so soon, he thought. The jedi have found him aswell. Feeling the familar tingle of jedi force training. He realized he must act quickly to avoid disaterous consiquinces. wraping his mind and force presence in a old sith form he had learnt from the holocron to hide his abilities and training. He begins walking over to the old explorer and the young man.

Tanis Val'dorn

Servant of Shadows
"Ugh! If this ship doesn't stop malfunctioning, Im going to blast it into oblivion!!", Tanis screamed as he slammed his gloved fists into the control panel of his heavily modified transport ship, Sith Shadow. This was the third time this week that the repulsors had malfunctioned. He almost had to make an emergency crash landing over one of the moons of Dxun. With the blow to the control panel, the repulsors hummed to life again and he was able to land. "Ha! Who said violence doesnt solve EVERYTHING!"
As the ship soflly came to a halt, Tanis rummaged around for the map that he had misplaced somewhere in the crew quarters of the ship. "Found it!", he exclamed as he reviewed the map. He was meeting his friend Frigus here at a bar so they could, "persuade" someone to tell them the the location of a set of schematics that supposedly held the secret to a great weapon....
"I dont understand why I let Frigus talk me into this crap.." Tanis mumbled under his breath. He had very frequently voiced his opinion on "Lost Blueprints" and "Ancient Weapons". The way he saw it, if it was LOST or ANCIENT, then it must not be that big of a deal.
As he walked down an alleyway towards the bar, he thought about all the Sith Holocrons he could be out finding right now. Even though they were technically "lost" as well, he was thirsty for knowledge of Sith power. Power fed him, made him strong. It was as addictive to Tanis, as Death Sticks are to a junkie from Corucant.
Turning a corner, he immediately stopped in his tracks... he could feel..... "...Jedi....", he snarled as he felt the light side ripple through the Force. They must have beat us here.... He said he was already on his way! I swear Frigus can be such a slowpoke! No matter, I can easily handle ONE Jedi.... Reaching for a lightsaber from underneath his cloak, he readied himself as he strode through the door of the establishment. "What the...?!?", Tanis stopped in his tracks, for there stood the young Jedi Padawan, but his real surprise came from who stood right beside him....

Without looking at Jor'si, the Nagai man told him, "Ask the bartender."

Apparently he needed incentive before talking.

Yet, the actions of the Sith and Jedi will influence his tongue.

The bar was nothing Daxton hadn't seen on over a hundred other worlds. Humanoids of all shapes and sizes, and a few not so shapely, squandering what credits they scrounged to poison themselves and forget the miserable lives they were trying to escape. The alien music wailed from the stage where a trio of aliens were performing on strange instruments, while the drone of conversation continued unabated.

His contacts told him that an old Nagai was in the market for private salvagers, so he had arranged for an introduction. What he wasn't prepared for were the two humans trying to chat up his potential target. Nothing about them was remarkable, after all humans, despite there wide array of colors, all looked the same to him.

Making his way through the crowd, he finally reached the table and without further ado sat down across the Nagai. Dressed in a dark brown padded flight suit that clearly had seen better days and the pair of heavy blasters hanging from his hips, he was the very picture of Zabrak scoundrel.

Looking at the pale skinned old man before him, he glanced at the others still present before turning back to the old man. "Deni said you were looking for private salvagers for a job." Referring to his contact by way of reference.

If the others remained at the table, Daxton would throw a bemused annoyed glance their way and sarcastically said, "Excuse me but we're about to discuss business. Private business? So unless you're here to serve drinks for us, best head over to the bar and annoy someone else." while he said that his hands casually rested near the holstered weapons as if to draw them should it be necessary. Not that e would need to really go for them, after all his needler wrist launchers were already discrete armed and ready for use. He had loaded this batch with a most interesting toxin he was hoping to try out.

'One....Two....Sith walk into a bar...' Jor'si mused to himself. If there was one thing the young force-sensitive was good at, it was sniffing out the unique Force Signatures that were obviously aligned with either the Side of Light of the Side of Dark. The first he noticed disappeared less than a second after he had noticed it, the second lingered and only grew stronger with each passing second; denoting that they had drawn nearer to him. Jor'si sighed and aggravation overcame him. This was supposed to be a simple job and now there were SITH cluttering up the place. Furthermore, his target wasn't exactly warming up to him, even though he was assaulting his mind with his Zeltron telepathy.

'No matter,' he said to himself, 'I can get the information from you...dead or alive. I just hope its the latter.' With that said, the young man elevated himself from his seat and walked past the three Sith in question, exiting the bar. He had no intention of confronting the both of them right then and there, but he had intentions of getting that information. After rounding the corner and disappearing from view, Jor'si centered himself and gathered the fullest might of the Force he could muster. The mighty tide of telekinetic might then surged forth back into the bar and mentally assaulted the unfortunate Nagai, attempting to ravage his mind for the information Jor'si desired.

Sure, it was an un-Jedi like thing to do...but the potential benefits of gaining whatever information that mind held was worth the consequences. Of course, being the resourceful native of Nar Shaddaa that he was, Jor'si had a backup already planned should his mental assault fail...and a backup for said backup. Yet until that was a certainty, he focused the entirety of his effort on breaking into the Nagai's mind and capturing the schematics within.

Oh what now!? Its turning into a virtual sith meet and greet in here. He thought, as the newcomer strolled up and set down. Though the young jedi did get up and exit with the entrance of the newcomer. Well that makes things less complicated. Thought frigus. About to speak to the newcomer, and comment on his distinct rudeness considering he was here first. Frigus felt the pressure of a potent force touch lance out at the old man. The Jedi? how very un jedi like of him. .....i wonder? Telepathy was something frigus never had much skill at. Emapthy on the other hand was a different story. Frigus reached out along the line of force connecting the young padawan and the old man, gently riding the back flow to the jedi to shield his presence ....searching....Feeling....and there it is. underneath all that calm emotionless surface, A tiny nuget of anger and rage. Frigus reaches out with the force and quietly pulls all the anger and negative emotions of the surrounding people to him, and when its ready, when its built into an unstoppable Tsunami of raw emotion. He pushes it all at once into the young Jedi, focusing it all on that one tiny uncontrolled spot.

Tanis Val'dorn

Servant of Shadows
"This should be interesting..", Tanis chuckled as he watched the young Padawan exit the bar, as he had felt the Jedi start calling upon the Force for some sort of telepathic attack. No matter, if he managed to rip the information from the Nagai, Tanis would just slaughter the poor fool and read his memories.
Tanis had almost unmatched combat prowess with a wide variety of weapons, but utilizing the Force into a weapon wasnt something the young Sith was familiar with. Although he possessed an almost instinctual ability to use the Force Lightning technique, he lacked any real affinity for the telekinetical and empathetical uses of the Force. A weakness he would just have to address at another time.
Still standing in the shadow of the small cafe located directly adjacent to the bar, Tanis watched as he anticipated that things were about to get much more.... Involved.

The old man looked up at the Zabrak at the mention of salvagers. There was no word for him as Daxton shooed Jor'si away.

"If you're here for business," began the Nagai man, his coarse voice void of emotion, "Then my offer is no less than-"

At that point, Jor'si's psychokinetic wave rushed into the bar area. Even though Jor'si also attempted to drain knowledge from the Nagai explorer's mind, there would have been no time to find anything substantial.

As telekinetic waves always did, it picked up some of the chairs between where Jor'si had stood and the Nagai man. These chairs tore apart with ease and flew toward the Nagai explorer's direction and potentially placed Daxton in danger as well.

For the Nagai though, it was too late. One of the chairs struck him in the head hard enough to kill him instantly.

On the Nagai's person, he had a datapad containing the coordinates - which he would have electronically passed along to his buyer. Any extra information beyond the coordinates that he would have had about this space station was lost forever, though.

Bystanders in the bar took notice to the sudden death and began to stir. Trouble in the form of Chiss soldiers and policemen would soon descend on the bar as they did not enjoy aliens causing trouble on their own lands.

The Jedi and Sith would have to act fast.

"Ah hell..." Jor'si muttered, his lack of foresight weighing upon him like a ton of bricks. His utilization of the Force had resulted in the death of the target...yet there would be time to attempt to atone for that later. There were authorities arriving on the scene and he had to act. Fast. Immediately, he dived into his backup plan which required one simple ingredient: the body of the Nagai. First and foremost, perhaps the Nagai would have something on his person that would give indication of this mysterious station. Second, Jor'si had a little trick up his sleeve for getting information from the minds of the recently deceased...ah, being part Kral'jica had quite the benefits.

The young man immediately broke into a sprint towards the bar, rudely forcing his way through the crowd which had begun to amass themselves around the bar. He only had a matter of seconds before the Chiss authorities started shooting first and asking questions later, so the young man swiftly called forth the Force into each of his hands, concentrating another display of telekinetic might. With his right, he Pushed, sending a powerful wave right through the bar that was powerful enough to send patrons sailing off their feet. It was aimed in particular to the table that the Nagai was seated at and would have easily lifted both his corpse and the man beside him off their chairs and tossed them back.

Yet Jor'si was not about to lose the body to carelessness, oh no. He had planned ahead for that. At the same time as his right hand's Push, he Pulled with his left, reaching out to grip the deceased form of the Nagai. This Pull would yank the deceased form of the Nagai out of the way and then into Jor'si's awaiting grasp. The end result would be the young force sensitive catching the body, tossing it over his shoulder, and sprinting like mad out of the now-broken window.

"Here goes nothing!"

You damn fool! Roared Frigus, as the old man fell dead. Seeing his opportunity quickly slipping away, He redirected the flow of negative energy into himself, merging it with his own growing rage. Frigus begins to feel the intense power well up within him as it did that day back on hoth, The air begins to grow cold and tremble with power about him, as his shielding of his presence drops. The glass of the bar and the bar itself quickly freeze solid as the malevolent power slows the molecules inside them to almost the point of absolute zero. This effects the barkeep also, instantly killing him. Reaching out to the full, unrelenting power of the darkside, using a ancient sith technique taught to him by the holocron. He thrusts his right hand forward, unleashing a telekinetic blast of his own at the young jedi on the other side of the wall. Being sure to isolate his fellow sith from this destructive blast of raw power. The blast reaches out, fueled by all the anger, fear, hatred and negative emotions of the hundreds of living souls in or near the bar, with the intent to crush the wall, the Jedi and anything else in its radius

Servant of Shadows
Ohh, the hatred, the suffering, the POWER. These things where the bread and butter of the young Sith Apprentice. "I guess its showtime." Tanis mused, as he slowly approached the entrance of the bar. His original plan had been to slay the young Jedi in the event that he was able to rip the information from the Nagai's mind, or to simply let one of his Sith brethren extract the information and then let them lead him right to the space station.

As it usually happens, the plan did not go the way he expected. Now was time for action. Upon igniting the blades of his twin Scarlett Red lightsabers, Tanis entered the bar only to find his Sith brother, Darth Frigus, getting ready to make the young Jedi a permanent addition to the wall of the establishment. "Where'd that other Sith go? I felt his presence earlier..." Tanis wondered. As he scanned the area through panicking patrons and the rubble from the now destroyed tables that where unlucky enough to be in the path of the Jedi's blast.

At that moment, Tanis spotted the body of the old Nagai explorer. It was a mere 10-12 feet away and his eyes burned red with anticipation. He would just as much love to slaughter everyone in here, but that would draw undue attention to the Sith who had all happened to come upon the explorer at the same time. It seemed as if this galaxy was becoming far too overcrowded....

Poised to leap at the opportunity to acquire the Nagai body, Tanis waited to see the outcome of his fellow Sith's attempt to stop the seemily relentless charge of the determined young Jedi. "He has spirit..", Tanis spoke in a low tone to himself as he began to pull the power of the Dark Side into his chest, then down to his arms, and then to his hands. "...but I have power, and youthful spirit will only get you killed young Padawan!" His hands ignited with sickening red electricity as he focused all his power and hatred into making sure the young Padawan would no longer get in his, nor his brethren's, way.

'Nailed it!' Jor'si mused to himself. He granted himself a small smirk of satisfaction as his tactic worked out perfectly. His Force Push had successfully rocketed across the bar while his Force Pull had sent the body flying right into his awaiting grasp. Jor'si took an extra glance to be certain that the body hadn't dropped anything along the way to his arms, and it didn't: a perfect Pull indeed! As he secured his grip on the body, a brutal, devastating wave of power came crashing towards him. 'Ah crap.' he muttered to himself. Immediately, he spun on his heel (thereby turning his back to the wave) and dove diagonnally from his current position, directly into the destructive wave's path. He cushioned the rear of his body with a telekinetic counter-Push that essentially allowed him to be propelled by the wave towards the wall without his bones shattering. Then, thanks to the Nagai's position before him, was blasted through the wall with little more than a few cuts since the body absorbed the brunt of the shock. Furthermore, due to his diagonal leap, he had blasted out several feet away from the other Sith who had drawn his lightsabers: Jor'si's backup was going good so far.

"Ow...." he grunted, tumbling out of the rubble with the body still locked in his grasp. He took a quick glance to make sure that the body hadn't dropped anything on the way through the wall and saw that it didn't. He then forced himself to his feet and concentrated once more, empowering himself with Force Speed. Jor'si took off sprinting outside of the bar, running down the street as swiftly as a blur, headed in the direction of the local starport. He planned on moving quick enough to stow away on a vessel...or less Jedi-like steal one...and get off the planet.

Tanis, lets move! Shouted Frigus as he focused all of his dark power into his speed , and hurtled out of the ruined building after the young jedi. I will catch you. and i will get those plans. And i will level this whole city to do so if i must. Realizing that the jedi was headed for the starport, Frigus pulls out his comlink and sends a command to his personal ships slave system. Ordering it to power up and prepare for immediate departure.....and to ready weapons systems. As he catches sight of the young jedi he focuses his mind on the jedi. feeling his life presence within the force, and reaches out with another powerful telekinetic wave to were his heart should be with the intent of crushing it within his very rib cage.

Tanis Val'dorn

Servant of Shadows
"Tanis, lets move!"

But why? Tanis thought. He honestly kind of wanted to wait for the soldiers to come so he could actually have some fun while he let Frigus do all the leg-work. Alas, he wouldn't abandon his friend, especially considering Tanis understood that Frigus was dead-set on acquiring these blueprints. So he ran. Not towards his comrad, nor the Jedi who had escaped with the blueprints. No, Tanis was headed to the Sith Shadow. His plan was to let the Jedi make it to his starship, allow him time to read the datapad, and shoot him down before he had time to leave the planet. That way, if it killed the Padawan, he could just read his memories; and if it didnt, well then all the more fun of doing it himself.

As he boarded his ship, he pulled his comlink from the pocket on his belt, and sent a communication. "Frigus! See if you can stop him before he takes off. If not, I have a plan to stop him. Ill rendevous with you shortly. The Jedi will NOT escape with those blueprints!"

In just a matter of seconds, the starport was within view and Jor'si thought that he was home free. Then, a cold sensation ran down his spine as he sensed the presence of the Sith chasing after him. He felt the Force fluctuate and felt the wave coming. Jor'si managed to wave a hand behind him, thrusting a minor Force Push into the way of the telekinetic wave. Though it was not as powerful as that which the Sith launched, it was enough to save the young man's life; albeit resulting in two cracked ribs. Jor'si gasped in pain yet continued to sprint as swiftly as he could, muscling his way through the agony. He had felt worse, he had been through worse, and he was not about to give up now that he was only a stone's throw away from his goal.

Jor'si had a good lead on the Sith who was pursuing him, since he had taken off in a sprint a few seconds before the pursuit began. As such, Jor'si arrived at the starport first...and immediately attracted the attention of the Chiss authoraties. With little patience to deal with them, Jor'si continued to move, mustering up his concentration and reaching out telepathically to the minds of the authorities with a combination of Mind Trick and Zeltron Telepathy. He infected them with a fierce, overprotective emotion that was directed solely at him and turned the trio of guards on his adversary. Jor'si knew they'd get cut down...and he was counting on it. There were tons of people in the starport and they would all see the massacre of the authorities, thereby bringing down a larger force upon the Sith's head.

While the three Chiss moved to bar the Sith's path, Jor'si found exactly what he was looking for: a merchant ship left unattended. It was small, open, and the young man didn't have much else option. He quickly entered the backdoor of the ship and closed the panel with a touch of the adjacent console, then stepped over to the pilot and co-pilot's seats. He deposited the body in the co-pilot's chair and engaged the ship's ignition and computers, plotted a course for Coruscant, and took off immediately; immensely grateful he had looked over the shoulders of the various merchants he had met on vessels in order to learn how to pilot such vessels. The ship quickly ascended to a couple hundred feet and Jor'si didn' bother waiting to break atmo to engage the hyperdrive. Sure, he was breaking so many Chiss regulations, but it was worth it.

He only needed two seconds for the hyperdrive to engage, and then he'd be off scot-free.

Tanis Val'dorn

Servant of Shadows
Tanis waited for a response from his Sith brother, but none came. He assumed Frigus was, more than likely, indisposed at the moment. Instead of waiting, and possibly losing his chance to cut off the escaping Jedi, Tanis quickly made way to the spaceport. "If this joker is gone by the time I get there, and Frigus is anything but incinerated, I'm going make him wish that Jedi had finished him off!" Tanis didnt mean this of course, but he considered Frigus a powerful Sith, and together they made a formidable team. Surely, this young Padawan would not manage to escape the duo. Upon arrival he could see a merchant ship taking off, and rather quickly. He knew a merchant would never break so many regulations on a take-off; this had to be their Jedi prey.

"Blast! He's already taking off! Where the hell is Frigus?!? And to think, this was HIS idea and now IM the one having to save his ass!" Acting upon a whim, not really too concerned about the outcome if his assumption was wrong, Tanis fired on the ship. Letting the Force guide him, he barraged the merchant ship with a hail of laser fire. He had thought ahead and already engaged the proton torpedoes, just in case his initial attack failed to disable the vessel.

Alerts soon began to flash on the console before Jor'si's eyes, the hull of the ship was being peppered with laser fire...and then, BOOM! The foundation of the ship was rocked when a photon torpedo slammed into its flank. The ship nearly careened out of the young man's control, yet he centered himself and utilized the Force to keep the ship steady. Fortunately, the hyperdrive unit was undamaged by the assault, and neither were the engines. The hull didn't have a breach that would rob the cabin of oxygen either. He could do this...with the touch of a button, Jor'si engaged the hyperdrive and the ship rocketed off out of the atmosphere and into hyperspace.

"Whew..."

Relief poured through the young man like a mighty flood and he leaned back in his seat. The ship was badly damaged, but it was holding together. By his estimate, he'd make it to Coruscant in one piece, though he'd probably have to make an emergency landing with some assistance. Nonetheless, he had a couple of minutes to tend to the body that was beside him. First and foremost, he searched the man for any clues to the mysterious rumor...what he found was a datapad containing coordinates to something in the Unknown Regions. "Awesome." he breathed.

He then tapped into the unique ability associated with the Kral'jica species, the ability to generate electricity. He summoned a very small, very controlled amount to his fingertips and gingerly touched the base of the Nagai's skull. The flow of the electricity was then carefully guided via the Force to stimulate the neural synapses: essentialy reviving the brain, if only briefly. This provided him a nice window to reach inside the Nagai's memories and access the information he had sought previously...which he promptly did with an elementary application of telepathy. Ah, such rich and wonderful were the rewards of his struggle.

"Score one for the Republic."
