Faction A Halmesian Welcome [CIS]

Halmij, an oceanic encumenopolis that had existed in relative obscurity for the entirety of it's own history; that is, until recent events. These events, rather the event that now brings this world out of the shadows of it's past, is the choice of the Halmijian Foreman and Board of Directors, the choice to join a greater organization, this organization of course is the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Halmij, as always welcomed the chance for a mutual prosperity with new business partners, such is cause for celebration for a new partnership, except by partnership they mean interplanetary alliance, and by celebration, they mean elaborate tour and planet wide celebration that completely disregards any form of trying to maintain any form of an impression of professionalism. But who cares, it will be fun for all involved as long as no one taps the glass.
This event begins on a landing platform, a large metal platform that connected to the last floors of a submerged tower peaked with cleaned and polished albeit clearly archaic, some might say it would be Gothic in the architecture of this tower. Awaiting the visitors for this trip down the elevator into the city proper, was a pale red skinned individual who some at the Ophideraan crash might recognize as, what was her name Jata, or was it Xata. Nevertheless there was in addition a few other well dressed individuals who did not seem to be of those who would work by hand; their welcome was almost too casual.
"Welcome to Halmij your business is welcome here, please enjoy your stay in our aquatic metropolis, and please, for everyone's safety and comfort, refrain from tapping on the glass. Have a nice day."

Xazzex paid no attention to the two guards that trailed her by three steps. They were nothing but backdrop in the unlikely event anyone was ignorant enough to attack the Empress of Falleen. After all, she wasn't merely a figurehead, nor just a Viceroy of a planetary system, but the Crown of the Leviathan Ring 'crime' syndicate. Such a narrow view of galactic affairs to label them as criminal. They performed many functions across many different worlds; that some happened to be in violation of local law was hardly their fault.

Halmij was a thriving world not far from her own, full of resources and business opportunities. Naturally, it became a place of interest. A personal exploration to get a feel for the people and the possibilities before the merchants set upon it ravenously. Falleen could always use a reliable trading partner; with the countless services their world provided there was a constant demand for raw or per-constructed supplies.

The welcoming committee seemed to enjoy waiting for new visitors at the elevator, though Xazzex made no effort to hurry along so they would not wait long. Their city, after all, wasn't going to float away. The Empress' eyes fell upon the woman that addressed the crowd -- the one that seemed to have purpose there among the flashy rabble behind them.

Refrain from tapping on the glass? What a strange joke. Fleshy-skinned creatures often had such curious senses of humor. Perhaps it came with being inside of a glass bubble under so many more atmospheres worth of pressure. Break the glass and everyone dies. Actually, the more Xazzex thought about it, the funnier it became.

"I am looking forward to it. I've heard great things about the opportunities for enterprises here. Anywhere in particular I should visit?" Xazzex's eyes fell to Sraln Xata Sraln Xata with the question poised about her city or her world.

Jordar stepped off another shuttle not far from the Empress of Faleen's own shuttle, he disembarked the ship with a couple of B2 super battle droids trailing behind him slightly it was an annoyance he had come to expect as the Viceroy of Fondor but he still was not a fan. Before recent events, he had never heard of the world called Halmij, but to consider a planet that was an entire city and submerged it seemed ridiculous but as they say, seeing is believing, he would not turn down an invitation to visit this world, and in fact, brought two of the leading manufacturers from Fondor along Alban Roble Alban Roble and Vislor Elatar.

He glanced back to the two men behind him, before looking back toward the representative that was there to greet the arrived guests. Since he became Viceroy, this would be the first world that had voted to join the confederacy, not that it was a rare occurrence, but it had simply been the first time since he became Viceroy that a world would choose a to join in a way that did not require military intervention. Jordar found himself not far from Xazzex Xivar Xazzex Xivar he simply greeted her with a nod before directing his attention to the he would presume leader Sraln Xata Sraln Xata .

The other individuals in various fine dress took to handling the unnamed individuals in leading them into the city, whereas, almost too conveniently, the pale red skinned woman approached the two individuals who stood out from the crowd by singling out her of the other nine or so prominent business figures of the planet who had volunteered to escort the special guests to this event; Xazzex Xivar Xazzex Xivar , Jordar Varcskel , Alban Roble Alban Roble , Vislor Elatar. The briefest moment of doubt passed through her mind, perhaps these four or one of their guards had some sort of bio-metric scanner and knew about her hidden dealings, but dwelling on this wouldn't help now.
"As you can see we are quite busy with the masses of individuals coming to our world for these festivities; furthermore due to our complicated organization of streets and the sort a not insignificant amount of business owners, myself included, have volunteered to play the role as tour guides in addition to those who actual do such fanfares. I am Sraln Xata, I own and operate one or two apartment complexes on our world."
She paused for a moment as she scanned through the current group, eyes settling a bit longer on Xazzex, perhaps because she vocalized a question, perhaps something deeper, something sinister as a keen eyed viewer might notice this glance had a look similar to the look of someone's slight hunger when they looked towards someone eating food. "You need worry not I will gladly show you to everywhere that could be of use or relevance to individuals such as yourselves..." She paused again glancing towards the other groups having been lead into the elevator one by one, as all Sraln's pauses and slow approach seemed to be stalling, "Now if you are ready to go we can begin our tour, or if you want to wait for any acquaintances of yours we can do that; Meanwhile, I will answer any of your questions to the best of my ability whilst we wait for their arrival."

Apartment complexes? Xazzex regarded the woman as she spoke. Now this creature didn't honestly expect to pass herself off as someone so humble did she? Perhaps to your layperson or law enforcement officers such a ruse would be passable. As someone that ran a criminal (and business) enterprise, however, the Falleen Empress was not so easily misled. Now as to Sraln's true nature or ambition that could not be so easily deduced. Would it only be so easy to run across someone worthy of business negotiations. Time would tell.

"I have no other acquaintances joining us." Whether Jordar, Roble, and Elatar could say the same was their business. Though Xazzex had not failed to note the three's arrival. In fact, a few of them had been targets of the Falleen's interest and advances, though none had seen it worth following up on as of yet. A pity. A planet such as Fondor would find the Falleen a worthwhile trading partner; if not for the raw materials and manufacturing capabilities, then for the illicit acquisition of data from competing companies and gentle persuasions to discourage anyone moving in on Fondor's territory.

"What would you say are some of Halmij most notable resources?"
Too much for the owner of apartment complexes? Well, presumably the government had briefed the business owners on public matters of state to impress the visitors. If this woman was more than she appeared, Xazzex certainly hoped to find the right means of connecting with her for a more intimate proposal later... without the witnesses. Jordar and his friends were a touch too above board.

“Very well, then if any others wish to join this tour, they can find their own way, I am sure most are smart enough to ask for directions. Nevertheless, we shall get going with this tour.”
The strange woman said as she turned towards the elevator down into the city again, waiting for the two and their entourage to follow suit, grinning as she turned towards the doors motioning for the others to follow inside, the grin fading once she turned to look towards them after they piled inside. The elevator, and the shaft were both for the most part made of glass revealing the oceanic ecosystem thar surrounded the glass and metal spires, tunnels, domes, and box like buildings that populated the aquatic encumenopolis, the lights within furthering the visual spectacle. Sraln waited for them to take it in before answering Xazzex Xivar, “We are more capable for offering raw materials mined across the planet as well as the obvious available food sources than to manufacture much within. The structures tend to be a little old for the radiant heat given off by modern refineries. But in my dealings material gain is not the only thing this ocean offers, as there is a relaxing level of seclusion from the public as well as if one knows where to look most anything can be found somewhere in the city, well… so I’ve been told, someone as busy as myself has no need to deal with such ruffians nor do I have a grounded sense of reality that would come from someone who has lived such a short, easy life.”
It almost seemed…. Too sarcastic to be actually fallacious, or mayhap this is what she wanted them to think.

"Seclusion," the Falleen echoed. "An interesting marketing point for such a populated world." Though Xazzex hadn't overlooked the fact the city was beneath the surface of the ocean. It was secluded in a sense. Not to mention numbers made it easier to get lost or lose those you otherwise had not interest in humoring.

As for what followed that nugget, the green woman calmly regarded Sraln for a moment. "No, you seem to have a sophisticated sense of reality. One that no doubt has afford you many lucrative deals in your line of work." She wouldn't look back at the rest to see if they'd bought in to the woman's public facade. Whether they had or not was of no concern to the the Viceroy and Empress. Only securing a private audience with the woman as the point of contact, or someone that could send her on to another. Whatever the case may be.

Her gaze lifted to regard the scenic beauty around them for a moment. Much of a mind for business that she had, the Falleen were not without a sense of aesthetic appreciation. They might not be Zeltron either, but no one would accuse the cold-blooded people from lacking in passion either. Theirs was simply a different expression of what most believed "normal."

"Do you have a favorite cafe? Somewhere one can relax, have a drink, and perhaps meet interesting people?" Xazzex asked as her eyes were turned back to their guide.

"Well look around you at the world, to be within earshot and witness to prying eyes is far more difficult when one is trapped to buildings and tunnels whilst in transit should one be avoiding the domes of the common areas." The strange woman commented before continuing with remarking, "that by nature was facetious I am well aware of reality as that sort of understanding is a source lucrative opportunities as you noted."

There was a long pause while the elevator continued to descend into the depths of the abyss that embraced the planet, perhaps the guide hadn't heard the Viceroy's last question, perhaps she was considering an answer, or something as simple as buying time under the guise of deep thought.

"Unfortunately I nary get a chance to go out as much as I would hope or as normal, managing my business keeps me resigned to a fate of work in my offices, however yes, I suppose I could name a few pleasant cafe's should this answer not suffice." The woman finally responded, as if she couldn't have been more strange and suspicious with this response than if she tried to.

The faintest smile graced the Falleen's lips as she looked over at Sraln. "Business can be quite demanding. Apartments, especially. People moving in, and moving out. With them come their belongings. Given the tight quarters of this marvelous city such logistics must be managed with due care. Falleen deals with similar matters every day even while we are not beneath an ocean. I hope to learn more about our similarities and differences in this regard. Perhaps there are unique circumstances we can learn from."

"Still,"
Xazzex's eyes turned back out toward the view, "it is worthwhile to step away from business now and again to appreciate the greater riches the world -- and the galaxy -- have to offer. I hope you will find the opportunity to indulge yourself soon."

What if Sraln was nothing more than a businesswoman? Then she would have just receive a gentle urging to 'smell the roses' as Humans put it. If she was more, however, then perhaps she would have heard the sympathetic telling and suggestion in a different light -- one of opportunity. Xazzex was a patient woman, however, and would continue to feel the woman out and discern if such opportunities did exist; and if they did hopefully schedule a meeting. In private.
