- Description: Comprised of two companies of ninety men in addition to a few separate specialist units, they number around 250, being all that remain of the former Elysium Empire's XIV Battlegroup's ground forces. They are an elite force of light infantry capable of handling a wide variety of roles, but mostly small scale actions due to the relatively small size of the mercenary company.
- Unit Size: Medium.
- Unit Availability: Rare.
- Unit Experience: Elite.
- Equipment: N/A for now, will be edited in later if I make more custom ones. They have anti-vehicle/anti-air launchers, blaster rifles, some repeating blaster cannons, mortars, decent armor, probe droids, small deflector shield generators, vibroswords, etc, what one would normally for such a force. No heavy equipment like artillery or anti-vehicle guns though.
- Combat Function: Light Infantry/Special Forces.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A.
- Skilled Fighters: Taken from the best of the former XIV Battlegroup's ground forces, the Volandian Rangers are skilled combatants capable of engaging a wide variety of foes across a similarly large amount of terrain.
- Flexible: Can adapt to a wide variety of roles and can infiltrate and exfiltrate comparatively easily due to their compact size.
- Light Infantry: At the end of the day, no matter how skilled they are, they are ultimately light infantry with all the limitations that comes with it, on their own they are not leveling cities, dealing with large amounts of enemy armor, etc.
- Small in Numbers: Due to their training and the limited funds available to them as a mercenary group, they are comparatively small in numbers, it would be difficult for them to hold out against large enemy formations for extended periods of time. They are there to perform raids, some direct action, and other functions, not go toe to toe with entire infantry regiments in the open.
Originally part of the Elysium Empire's XIV Battlegroup's ground forces of around 20,000 light infantry, the Volandian Rangers are all that remain of this once respected force, serving their former commander as part of her mercenary company. Though their numbers are comparatively small, they excel at doing what they are designed to do and in conjunction with their starfighter support and support from their mothership the Zephyr, can handle almost any situation in which their commander would actually sanction their use.
