103 Million Dollar Baby

After the recent skirmish on Tython was over, the people in the Core came to a grim realization: they could no longer dismiss the Sith Empire as being confined to the northern edge of the Mid and Outer Rims. Plus the Dominion Remnant, kept a low profile after being defeated on Mirial and Kushibah, having pulled out of those planets as a result, stood ready to offer support to any party who would seek to avenge the defeat on Mirial, directly or indirectly. The Sith Empire would not suspect that the Dominion Remnant somehow had enough strength to attempt attacking elsewhere in SE-land, especially not after having failed in its attempt to liberate Mirial. The Sith Empire was perhaps mighty, but, as with every empire, they held some more or less sensitive information. Some sensitive projects, perhaps. And rumors of Dominion Remnant sleeper agents in deep infiltration cover began to spread on Muunilinst, where the time was ripe to strike back at the Sith Empire. Meanwhile, Cathul was somewhere in space, a few sectors away from Sith Empire territory, awaiting the call for reinforcements from the Dominion Remnant in-system, with what force she might have being ready to jump to Muunilinst at a moment's notice.

"I hope you have an idea of what you're doing, of what the Dominion Remnant contingent of several species attempts to do on Muunilinst. We have no reliable intelligence on how much naval garrison they have in space, admiral"

"The Sith have had trouble holding on to qualified personnel in space, they trusted the Sith proper far too much to my taste, but stay on your guard"

Objectives:
  1. (SIS) Steal what sensitive information can be stolen
  2. (All others) Cause a distraction to tie up the Sith security forces

Ben rubbed is head getting out of bed. He looked around a little confused before realizing he was in his officer quarters instead of the normal crewman quarters he used to stay at. It had been a while since his promotion to Rogue one but it still was a little unusual for him to be in his own room. He spent most of his time training, or getting trained on how to lead, it kept him busy which he didn't mind all too much.

Slowly he slipped on his flight suit and his boots getting everything on and making sure he slid on his signature sun glasses before leaving his room making his way to the hanger. He spent his free time making sure that his ship was up to snuff and perhaps even a little better than the basic X-Wings given to the average GA soldier.

He waved and gave a Good morning to some of the crewman he passed. He continued to make his way towards the hanger. Stepping in he looked up at his ship and made his way towards it. It was still as beautiful as the first time he saw it, even perhaps more that he had made her hi own. He nodded towards his crew and got his stuff ready.

With a graceful step he made his way into the X-WIng and prepared some pre-flight checks making sure all systems were a go. The crew chief came over his comm system making sure all the externals were good. After everything was set he sat there for a moment breathing deeply in and out before shaking his head.

"Let's load up Rogues, When everyone's good we'll be heading out. I expect everyone to be prepared and every ship to be spotless. No being clunky today, you've all been shaken up the last few months, now let' give them something to worry about, strike fear into the hearts of every pilot on the other side, and let's bring everyone home."

His voice rang over the intercom to each member of his squadron. He had hoped for more time with them, but it was now or never, they were all some of the best pilots the GA had and he was glad to have each and everyone, especially his Second in Command, she had been there a little longer than him, but she knew her stuff.

Craig rose from the wreckage of his X-Wing. Tython was a disaster. He looked around at the men around him. They were loading up supplies into ships and polishing and fixing up X-Wings.
"Looks like you got a bit of a mess there!"
Craig looked at the mechanic and nodded his head. Craig had spent thousands of credits on his blood red X-Wing. He was disappointed. The sith empire was a real threat. Craig expected more from himself.
"Alright, we will fix it up for you and get it back to you in no time!"
Craig looked doubtful of this. He picked up his helmet from the ground. The cracked visor popped out of the helmet and fell to the ground.. He sighed.
"Listen up men! We are regrouping tonight! Polish and fix up your X-Wings at once!"
Craig sighed once more.
"Not again..."

Was he really doing this? Yeah, he supposed he was. The pilot was grinning to himself, he had a few ideas. There was something to be said about fighting against the Sith, and there was something to be said to joining the fight kicking and screaming again. The former Commander in the Galactic Alliance had been watching and waiting, listening to the comm traffic. And today seemed to be the day he could do something about it. The pilot was in a ship that was disposable, it didn’t have the VI Lexi, nor did it carry Porter.

Hell, it was an ancient design and he had already messed with it in his Star Destroyer. Yeah, the Dawn Treader, home of Warbird Wing and his own personal engineering group, but that Destroyer was out in the Rim. What Coren Starchaser had following him was much lighter. And more mobile. A stolen corvette, from deep in the Unknown Regions. And it was a bit modified. This was just how Coren was doing it now.

“Alright, Lexi… Find me a hole.” He said, over the commlink. The ship was a microjump away, and was hopefully able to provide up to date data based on what his gunboat was finding. The ancient Star Wing was a bit of a rugged ship, and this one that had removed its ion cannons for extra space for concussion missiles. The ship reverted to real space outside of the fight, and with the ship not matching Alliance regulations, he was blasting his old IFF out to the fleet.

How long since he was in the fight with the Alliance? Too long. He did help Voidstalker. But since them? He was laying low. Now it was the time, the Sith were the enemy, and the Alliance could use him. He knew that the Alliance was up to something, and the SIS needed a distraction. Grinning, as he rolled the fighter down through the traffic of Muun.

Civilian, civilian…. Where were the military targets? Finger already on the trigger, he was shouting in the Force. Could he attract a Sith, or let the Alliance know who he was?

Engineers of sorts, fellow pilots clad in familar orange jumpsuits are running in opposite directions. Making no time for small talk as they reached their own fighters scattered all over the hangar bay. If somebody didn't know what they were doing they would get lost surerly to an extent in the midst of all the chaos. Jax is only able to make a brief observation as he briskly walks over to his station. The sight that stands before him is breathtaking, a full scale TR20 X-wing fighter already covered in a few rust and dents. He has barely been out there to see real action but he was already starting to get a taste for what it truly felt like to be out in the line of duty. Jax doesn’t care about the state much, what he sees before him is a grand scale toy ready to be powered up. Back on Ord Mantell he couldn’t possibly dream of maneuvering machinery of such scale, yet alone being a member of the greatest starfighter squadron the galaxy had to offer.

If Kerk was here now then he would be taking his place, let alone be under higher ranks. Someday Jax could be just as good. Even if he had by some miracle earned his place he was still just a rookie with far too much adrenaline and the knack for breaking rules which was the biggest struggle. Rogue Squadron was a united front. A team. He hadn't gotten to know everyone on the squadron well yet but he would still need to rely on them wether it was his wishes or not, it was the only chance of survival they all had.

Climbing into his cockpit, Jax started his pre flight check list, his crewchief indicated a sign that he was all good to go so all that was left now was to await further orders.

"Ready to get some TIES, Rhane?" A voice called out over from the flight deck below. Vex Terran was another rookie that he had gotten aquainted with during his time on base, the pilot had been assigned to Green Squadron and had only been around for a few months but had the same plastered grin that Jax was sporting right now. If anyone was more ready to show their worth to the alliance, Jax couldn't think of a better pilot.

"You already know the answer to that." Jax responded with a laugh. "Watch yourself out there."

"May the force be with you flyboy!" Vex retorted back with a final farewell before making his way over to his fighter. Jax gave him a thumbs up before going back to focus on his instruments.

[member="Ben Carlin"]'s voice suddenly rang over the intercom. Jax repayed the announcement in his head a few times over as he tucked on his helmet over his matted hair tightly, making sure it was secure as the open canopy of his X-wing was lowered down.

He moved calmly through the intelligence building. His heavy steps a well known sound through out the area. Bright green eyes peered out from the dark patches of fur on his thick cheeks as the watched the security teams and decense droids power up for the day. He had few duties thus far among the Empire but they believed strongly in employing beings at what they knew best. Bo was incharge of nutrition logistics and planning. This meant two things; one, he made sure food went everywhere it needed to go for the area and two he had access to anywhere that required food stores.

He stuffed a cabbage into his mouth and began to chew with some effort as he made his way to leave the one and only entrance to the intelligence building. He followed the cabbage with a fist full of carrots and 8 potatos. Finally he made it to the door and waited to be searched bu security so they could ensure that he wasn't taking anything he shouldn't.

He wasn't. So after returning his greatsaber, the 7'11" Pandyn began to walked out the door. He ducked and turned left. He tried turning right. It was impossible that he had gotten fatter while he was inside...wasn't it? Finally, he got on his hands and knees and tries to crawl through the standard door, it was the way he had gotten in after all.

Half way through he stopped, he tried to back up but his knees wouldn't move either. He tried to move forward again and leave the bunker. Finally he resigned himself to his fate and decided to wait. He still had a free hand and the sack of food he carried was on the mouth side as it should be.

He shrugged and pulled an eggplant and some squash from the bag and began eating. Tai Fa or one of the smart ones would figure it out.

Muunilist had become a sort of centre of operations for the freshly appointed Lord, and from his iron seat within the intelligence room he commanded the storage of secret documents; none of them particularly important, none of them posing a threat to the Dark Lord's seat of power. But, it was work, and he was getting some extra credits in his pockets and at the moment, the more credits the Epicanthix Warlord could muster the better.

Around him, technicians busied around him like worker bees around a queen bee, or in this case king bee. He was dressed suitably; garbed in a dark blue suit which fastened into a tight and high collar, draped by a darker still cloak which tumbled lazily down his back. A thick, black leather belt secured his waist and suit into place, also holding up his dull trousers. Upon his feet were a mighty pair of boots, with small yet noticeable heels which provided him with an authoritative click-clack as he thundered down one of the hallways of the intelligence centre.

Grasped within his right hand was a datapad, which he idly tapped numerals into the access the security cameras before lazily swiping through the blue holographic displays which bathed his face in a gentle blue haze. A finger ran through a stubbled chin, itching a spot before continuing to swipe past the fat ursine creature wedged between a door.

"Siberus," he signalled to the grizzled deputy-commander of the station with a sigh, "Cover for me for a few minutes."

"Yessir."

Morgan barely managed to suppress a sigh.

This was.... just boring.

Mind-numbing.

He could almost feel his attention slipping away, drained through osmosis, while studying the marching forms of Alta's unit. It was a training day, outreach program between the Empire's Legion and the domestic auxiliary forces of the worlds under its aegis. It assisted with integrating tactics, foster teamwork, ensure that if something like Mirial happened again that there would be a seamless integration between domestic defense forces and the Legion. "Heh, really? I figured that Rish would go right home after a stunt like that."

Soft chuckle at that, but it barely kept the boredom away.

They had been attached to this particular regiment. Early in the morning they had given sniper classes and demolition training, but now all that they had to do was stand there and look pretty ... professional.

Three hours in Morgan was already leaning against the crate with his elbows, chin resting on his palms. "I remember he knocked out one of Dwayne's boys, just for suggestion like that."

NATIVE WARDEN 51
MUUNILINST

After the events of Mirial, Sith-Imperial Armed Forces High Command [SIAF-HC] realized the need of improving communications, teamwork and organization between the SIAF and local planetary defense forces separate of the SIAF. Moreover, necessity was found in extremely sharpening and increasing the capabilities of local defense forces to at least be able to withstand an invasion until SIAF elements arrive.

Hence, Native Warden 51, the first of a SIAF-led annual exercise on planets who had defensive forces separate of the SIAF. Big or small.

Mingling with other troops also would improve morale and understanding, and even solidify loyalty. That's what Captain Najek had stated earlier today, at least. The defense of Mirial was an example of that.

A klick away from Alta's position, live-fire exercises were going on. Sounds of explosions occasional.

While Alta himself was busy explaining platoon-level tactics to a group of same-ranked Muun officers. Tactics specifically tailored to the landscape of Muunilinst.

You teach them how to defend their homes, not how to check mate you.

The green glow of the "Go" signal came to life around the territory the small group of Galactic Alliance pilots had been occupying.
Craig looked up at his new X-Wing. His blood red X-Wing was taken away and was put into a mechanical bay to be fixed up. Instead he was using an extra that was given to him by one of the mechanics. It was rusty, but he had polished it up. Craig put on his new helmet and sketched two letters into it.
"GA"
He knew the fight ahead would be hard, maybe even harder than Tython. He knew the Galactic Alliance was worth fighting for, and if the war looming upon the GA was coming? He knew his alliance with the GA needed to be even tighter. It would take everyone they had to fight this war.
The visor came down upon his face as he clicked the ignition. The small squadron of X-Wings took off into the unknown.

They were watching Lt. Alta's maneuvers at the moment. It wasn't their section so to speak- Soltari and Vance were specialists, attached where they were needed, when they were needed.

And right now they were needed on Muunilist, for the most boring assignment this side of the core.

"Yeah but Dee's friend was a puuuuuuunk."

The week on Muunilist was killing her slowly. There was some chatter about extending their stay here and Dante was pretty sure her brain would melt into the floor if that was the case. Mornings for drilling locals. Afternoons for watching other people drill locals. And the Muuns themselves were just straight up weird. Oh, Dante wasn't a humans-firster or anything, but she didn't *get* the Muuns on a fundamental level.

It didn't help that this trip was considered 'active duty' which meant Dante had basically been dry. Sure, she'd been able to sneak a flask or two in with her here and there- wasn't a big deal. Wasn't getting drunk or anything. But it was a way to relax at the end of the day. No problem. Didn't need it. But why give it up if there wasn't an issue?

Seemed silly all things considered.

"Ain't that the truth." It slipped him by and Morgan had the decency to look a little bit embarrassed. If there was one thing that Morgan believed in, it was that keeping most of his private thoughts private.

How relevant was his opinion on Corporal Dwight to the mission at hand?

None whatsoever and if it ever got out, it would presumably make missions together harder. So, what was the point of talking crap about them, if there were about six score reasons that gave downsides. So, it would have been a first for Dan to hear him speak his mind on one of their colleagues. When he was completely sober and didn't have a drink in his hand anyway.

Morgan ignored the glance of triumph in her eyes and coughed softly, studying his fingernails for a bit. "Oh. Also-" Now the smirk was getting out in force again, little bit cocky and pleased with himself.

"Talked with the Sarge over at section nine, he's willing to... hand over one of his sour reds." Especially if this stay was going to be extended? A few good whiskey shots wouldn't be amiss. The trade had been expensive, had to trade in some favors and maybe something more, but it would be worth it. "Think I can swing switching us on the next rotation, give us the rest of a night free."

That would be good.

Some drinks and forgetting.

Muunilist

The Muunilist defense fleet stood vigilant at it's post in the planet's orbit, defending the planet from enemies of the Sith Empire. The command ship, a Harrower-class, sat with the other ships of the fleet at it's flanks, effectively defending the planet two Xo'Xaans, one on each side of the command ship, four Retributions to serve as heavy artillery, and four Exterminators to fill out the fleet while four Receptors stood ready to deploy mines when needed. It wasn't the most impressive defense fleet, Bastion's held that title, but it was not a force to look down upon. Muunilist was a planet along the Braxant Run, which lead directly to Bastion. This is why Muunilist required the force it had to defend the planet.

Read Admiral Zahori Denko entered the bridge of a freshly commissioned Ferrata-class carrier. As custom within the Armada, a high-ranking officer would tour a capital ship before it would officially be deployed. Zahori was flanked by several officers below her in rank as she looked around the bridge of the ship. "A fine vessel. It will see many battles under the Sith Empire. May her victories be endless and her body count high."

Zahori ran her hand across the top of the captain's chair before departing the bridge. "Admiral Denko, I do believe we're done here, but if you wish to continue touring the ship that would be fine as well." one of the junior officers spoke up. Zahori inhaled deeply and exhaled sharply.

"Yes, I do believe we are done here." Zahori made her way to exit the ship. One of the junior officers handed Zahori a datapad. She took it off their hands and looked over the data displayed before her. "This all of the carrier's specifications? Make sure it's loaded with only the advanced fighters and bombers. I've looked over the Empire's manifest and we seem to include out of date starships in it and I'd hate for some old vessels to find their way in the Aramada." Zahori tossed the datapad back to the junior officer and continued to make her way towards the ship's exit.

Craig was in the hyperspace lane for the third time this month.
He let out a sigh.
He looked out at the blue streaking rays. He pondered on how he got to this place. Was it luck? Was he supposed to be here.

"Alright men, were assisting Rogue Squadron. Were coming up on our destination soon."

Craig looked down at his data panel. He read the mission objectives. The Sith Empire was someone he did not expect to see again. Did the Alliance see the threat? They were out of their minds! He could not believe that this was their enemy again after what Tython had done with them.

He was ready this time. He knew he could do it. He just didn't know how.

Kilrys was bored. There had been little action during his stay on Muunilinst and while he had fed on the few animals that the Empire provided the Anzat, it wasn't enough. He wanted more, he wanted a Force User, their pool of soup was so vast and intoxicating. It was hard to ignore. Sadly, he was stuck on some poor karking planet with no entertainment than watching a Wookiee stuff itself with vegetables. When he heard that it got stuck in the door, he found himself chuckling quietly, knowing that it would have gone and done something stupid. The race seemed so primitive to his own. Such a young species, so dumb.

Deciding that he was too bored with just sitting around, mocking the walking carpet. Kilrys rose to his feet and wandered off around the building, his proboscises were dangling and wriggling around his face like worms protruding from his face. He didn't care that others found them disturbing, having them out ready meant that he could feed should the chance arrive in an instant. His left hand holding his vibrosword tightly, the long blade almost scraped along the floor as he moved silently throughout the halls of the intelligence building.

" 'nd that's 'bout it, men. " Scipio stated and quickly added after seeing a female representative of the Muun race. "...and woman."

Salutes followed and LT Alta left the tall humanoids to their business as he ventured away from the makeshift camp. His aimless walk took him straight to two other soldiers. Different than him, in terms of specialty, and very familiar thanks to their introduction earlier in the marksmanship exercises that were going on.

"Rook and Strider, right?" His fists fell on his waist, while a slight smirk made its way on his face. "Lieutenant Scipio Alta, or Stiletto Two Actual, 42nd Airborne. We, uh, ha' a coop on M, what was it again...Maridun, that's right."

"Good to meet ya." A hand was offered.

Although it did not phase the dark lord he was much too cold for humour

Where there was money, there was crime. Where there was crime, there were bounties. And where there were bounties, there were bounty hunters. That was why he was here. A Muun of some infamy in the Outer Rim had recently returned here after falling afoul of local authorities in his exploitation of real estate. Two dozen families had been violently evicted and left abandoned during the coldest months. When law enforcement arrived, most of them had already died. The records were accurate and investigation revealed this Muun to be the culprit. However, he had already fled the system, far from their reach.

But not beyond the reach of Clan Tabalhar. They were scouts, bounty hunters, and mercenaries, dedicated to the protection of justice in the far reaches of the galaxy. Even as the Mand'alor dissolved the clan system and forged an empire, this clan remained scattered through the galaxy, going about their work.

Kiyron strode through the streets, ignoring the looks that others gave him in his armor as he passed them. Rarely did people walk around so heavily armored here, but he was certainly a Mandalorian, which made a bit of an exception to societal norms. He paused at the entrance way to the local police station and waited to be scanned. He handed over his guns and stepped inside, moving to the desk officer. He displayed his license and Guild membership.

"Looking for a mark known to be in the area. All the paperwork's taken care of." He nodded to his sigil from the Bounty Hunter's Guild. "Wanted to inform you beforehand so you would know that nothing was amiss."

The officers inspected it, talking to themselves, and then nodded, handing him back a police authorization. Kiyron nodded and turned to leave, retrieving his guns from the gatekeeper and back into the street.

Of course, he also had a different reason for being here today, and unless he was mistaken, it would begin shortly. He would need to be in position for that.

"No news of the Dominion Remnant forces on Muunilinst: the enemy may be jamming us for what we know" the communications officer reported back in.

"They may as well already be in battle by now. All units, load MIRVs into all missile tubes and bomb bays! Set course for Muunilinst at once!"

And may they not refer to me as Therapist Actual, nor make any reference to Therapy Command here, she thought, while being reminded that the aim of the operation is not to secure the orbit over Muunilinst, just to create enough noise to create a disturbance as a retaliation for Tython, with their transponders set to display Dominion Remnant on sensor displays. While the jump was underway, all 10 squadrons were being loaded with Djinn MIRVs, with all projectile weapons being pre-loaded, ready to fire once they make it at long-range turbolaser range from the enemy blockade upon arrival. Also, the crew was being enthused as if it was an actual Dominion remnant taking the fight to Muunilinst, seeking to avenge the failure that was Mirial, even though some of the crewmembers that were unfamiliar with the Dominion remnant that fought on Mirial, including but not limited to, the crew that wasn't part of it, instead whispered that they were avenging Tython. It was a good idea to debrief the roles of each group prior to initiating the daring raid by the Dominion Remnant. Prior to actually arriving to the target.

"Once we arrive in-system, all squadrons are to deploy, make it to the edge of standard turbolaser range from the enemy, and fire the MIRVs once at that range; prioritize the enemy fighters and artillery ships, if any; our own long-range fire will open fire at their enemy flagship as appropriate. Also jam any known enemy frequencies"

"For Mirial!" the Mirialan pilot shouted.

"For Kushibah!" another Kushiban ordnance handler let out.

While the fleet was in transit towards Muunilinst, Cathul began to shudder to think about exactly what was going on at their destination, who was there and the losses they took. She wondered where were the transports carrying the proverbial boots-on-the-ground, or said boots-on-the-ground were already there? Either way, it's possible the boots-on-the ground were already there, engaging Sith forces across the main cities of the planet, as it was possible they were further behind or otherwise coming in from a different direction. Information was just lacking right now, and possibly even jammed. But counter-jamming will only prevent the enemy from getting any NFU communications done, while not clearing up anything on her own end. For a while they were still looking at the blue streaks that characterized hyperspace flight while they were en route to Muunilinst. And then... the reversion came, and they could finally have a clue as to what was happening in orbit, while feeling that other friendlies would be forming up soon.
