103 Million Dollar Baby

The Sith Lord had just left the high security of the intelligence room, and paced along a few sectors when the missiles came raining down upon the building; causing walls to fragment and crumble, the roof to cave in and trigger death and injury to great numbers within the building. Suddenly, crimson lights flashed and sirens screamed warnings that the facility was indeed under attack, and the heavy pounding of AAA fire resounded throughout the dull halls. Smoke rose like thick, deadly skyscrapers and threatened to choke the starfighters pounding the building.

Darth Aurum stood, dumbfounded for a few moments as his mind whirred for an answer as to who had dared fracture the foundations of one of the Empire's most precious hideaways. The Silver Jedi..? No, they've been banished further into the core. Perhaps the Dominion? Again, no they have long been a part of galactic history and the Galactic Alliance wouldn't dare venture this far north for a simple skirmish.

The Epicanthix quickly left his whimsical ponderance behind him, however as he felt more tremors ripple across the centre. Boots carried him quickly through the facility, and his lightsaber hilt was firmly gripped in his right hand, ready to be ignited in case troops had infiltrated the facility itself.

Around him, workers fled and lay mangled, crushed by rubble but he turned a blind eye as he raced to reach his original rendezvous: the fat Pandyn stuck in the door. Quickly he reeled around a corner and almost crashed into the great ursine and the mercenary, his blade now burning with vermilion fury as he brandished it angrily at the ships in the atmosphere, like an elderly man warding off stubborn crows.

Those cruisers were Dominion ships, alright.

Muunilist

Commotion stirred up on the bridge of the Harrower-class. The com-scans were reporting several capital ships exiting hyperspace nearby and their IFF signals did not match any known Sith Empire vessels or any of their allies. Once this information was recieved, the report was immediately sent up the chain of command towards the captain of the ship. "Alert the fleet. We are under attack." the captain ordered.

Once the orders were dispersed throughout the defense fleet, the Receptors did their job and began dropping the reader mines they are equipped with by standard. The area in front of the defense fleet would be littered in over a hundred reader mines once the Receptors were complete. Once their job was done, the Receptors retreated to rejoin the fleet. With the field trapped with mines, the defense fleet readied weapons. The Muuniist defense fleet was heavy with long range weaponry for situations such as this. Targeting computers locked on and weapons were unleashed as starfighters remained on standby near the ships for when the enemy sent theirs to attack.

Bastion

Zahori returned to her office within the Imperial naval base on Bastion and sat at her desk. She pulled up the muster reports for the defense fleets throughout the Sith Empire's holdings. "All musters present and acc-Wait. Muunilist has yet to check in." Zahori quickly rose from her chair and left her office. It was unlikely that a fleet would miss muster. It was a necessary procedure. If a fleet missed muster then it was either they were under attack or the captain required some discipline. Zahori assumed the worst and called for her fleet to prepare. Zahori boarded a shuttle which swiftly took her up to her fleet in orbit. Her shuttle flew into the hangar of a Revelation-class Star Destroyer, Zahori's command ship. Her fleet was quite impressive in regards to someone at her rank. The Widow's Lament, her command ship, was a fearful and powerful vessel. At it's flanks were a Plague-class super carrier, three Reformation-class heavy cruisers, and four Revocation-class missile frigates. Before she could even reach the command bridge of her command ship, her fleet had entered hyperspace towards Muunilist.

And that was a bit too close. Coren shook his head and his grip tightened on the controls. Flying without the iBorg package was definitely something he wasn’t used to. The past few years he was dealing only with his own vessels that had it installed. And the other trick was that he was cut off. All reinforcements for him were a microjump away at best, but still, he was here on his own. The pilot took a breath of air as he pushed the throttle harder and pointed for space. He was just going to get the himself another tactical overview of the area before getting what he needed done completed.

Hopefully the Alliance was going to be following, and he didn’t just completely screw himself.

He shook his head and pulled the Star Wing back into an approach towards the station, one more run, he figured, and started locking up any weapon emplacements he could find. Shields were full to front and the best thing? Fighters. They got there but he ignored them on his outbound vector. Now… well, some of them were targeted. Taking a second, Coren adjusted the course of his fighter and locked it in.

The shields started to light up red from the fighter support. A finger was loose on the trigger for the missiles. He was watching the altimeter and nodded. He fired the whole compliment of missiles, and dumped the laser power into the engines, at the same time igniting the ejection system.

The seat, and pilot, launched from the forsaken vessel. Watching the ground, Coren called into the Force, to the skills he had of the Aing-Tii. He bent the Force to his will, taking himself, his gear, and sadly the ejection seat, down to the ground in a blink of folded space. Once on the ground, he looked up at his fighter, untangling himself from the crash netting.

Well, that was part one. Hopefully I got some attention.

Music: Taking a hold of the future!

"There's a disturbance in the Force headed our way"

"What does that disturbance imply?"

"All units, we can only fire two volleys before we leave: we risk our cover being blown if we stay here for too long. Once the second volley is fired, jump to hyperspace" she communicated to the remaining Dominion remnant units in-system. "Also, jam the fire control frequencies use by enemy missiles for fire control"

The Dominion Remnant didn't even fire the first volley that they were already fired at from a distance, with heavy artillery. Meanwhile, the C-9980s loaded their heavy launchers with MIRVs laden with five flechette warheads, filled with 12.7x108 rounds that will then be flying at high velocities upon detonation; the logic being that releasing the flechettes when the warheads ran out of fuel would cause the flechettes to continue flying in a straight line. And maybe even hit mines or other hazards. Meanwhile, firing turbolasers from long range caused the beams to dissipate over distance until they hit. So the cruisers got hit, causing the shields to drain somewhat, but then again, establishing firing solutions for the ships that were actually here took some time. Which also forced her to act quickly before the enemy could fire another volley. But this false-flag operation was quickly becoming a hit-and-run operation, notwithstanding any Dominion Remnant ground forces [member="Coren Starchaser"] brought in tow. Which, given what she could sense from the surface, already began their attack, and with casualties consistent with the firing of missiles at ground targets. Also, the EW crew of the Impugnment began attempting to slice the fire control protocols used by missiles so that they could, hopefully, cause the missiles used onboard enemy ships, especially the Harrower, to detonate, and possibly some internal damage to said Harrower.

"Split the fire between the heavy ships, we can deal with the escorts using fighters. Bomber squadrons 1-4, pick off the enemy corvettes using MIRVs, all other bomber squadrons, concentrate your MIRV fire on the artillery corvettes!"

"Roger, roger"

"All units, fire!"

So, while a dozen heavy MIRV warheads laden with flechettes were fired at the minefield, before all ten bomber squadrons began the flight towards standard turbolaser range, those squadrons flew under the cover of said MIRVs, whose buses unleashed a grand total of sixty concussion missiles filled with flechettes, detonating in a forward arc, releasing thousands of 12.7x108 being flung at high speeds. Also, the volley of heavy artillery comprised heavy firepower: both Xo'Xaans would have six 420mm HVC rounds, two super-heavy long-range turbolasers and two heavy long-range ion cannons fired at each of them, while the enemy flagship, the enemy Harrower, would take the brunt of the long-range firepower: twelve of those very 420mm HVC rounds, two super-heavy long-range turbolasers, two more humongous heavy long-range guns, for a total of 436 turbolaser equivalents in conventional beam firepower and 400 more in HVC fire, there was also ten heavy long-range solar ionization cannons fired at the Harrower, which would cause holes in the hull if they hit. Also, while the cover of heavy artillery fire lasted, the fighters were closing in the range towards standard turbolaser range of their targets, and once they were in range, they fired their own volley of 120 fighter-mounted MIRVs at once: each Exterminator found itself with twelve MIRVs fired at it, releasing their payload of five concussion missiles some distance away, with sixty missiles headed towards each of those corvettes, whose engines were facing the fighters because they were returning to the fleet, while each artillery frigate was targeted by 18 of those same MIRVs apiece, with the same scene being played out when ninety missiles were headed towards each of these artillery frigates. These enemy escorts would be facing a veritable wall of missile fire.

He reached up and tore off his crushed hat and tossed it aside as he moved. His green eyes blazed as he chewed his carrots and focused on the force. He poured his anger over his hat in, his anger over almost being blown up and the rest of his food being lost. It fueled his strength as he closed.

"Goorrerroreraaar" he said closing in. It was time to defend his post and earn his keep.

Darth now... was it?

Strange how the Chiss didn't feel like a Lord of the Sith within the Force.

No, she was more dim than that, similar to him in that regard rather than the strongest of the Empire. Darth? Perhaps another Sith that claimed things they had no business of claiming. But the Muun was a purist in that regard, he did not believe anyone deserved to call themselves Lord or Darth, unless they truly were a Dark Lord of the Sith. "Inquisitor. Ardeth Zun." It was polite enough, if frosty. There was still the matter of taking measure from this... humanoid.

So many of them.

Few truly worth the notice they received.

The Sith looked passed her and towards that office again. Now there was the hint of a smile developing, not enough to call it that, but enough to suggest amusement. "I see they have their hands... full at the moment." He tilted his head at that.

Little did he know that one could bend in such ways without expiring.

But all of this was window-dressing. A distraction when they should have their focus as a laser- but this was the weakness of the Saaraishash, as far as the Muun was concerned. The hierarchy was flexible and in the moment both of them were of equal stature. Neither could command, so they had to share and hope for the best. There should have been more ranks. Clarity existing before the situation turned hot. Because in the heat of the moment?

Ambiguity killed.

"As are ours, sadly. The meeting can wait- I am going to investigate, you may join, if you wish." Or she could wait for reinforcements. Either way, the Sith Muun had already moved on and was leaving the room.

Muunilist

The battle heated up rather quickly as both fleets unleashed their power upon each other. From the outside, one would call it a glorious battle as both sides were formidable forces. But, the Imperial forces would disagree with that statement. It was clear to them that whoever was attacking had little to no experience with such matters. Either that, or whomever was attacking had little experience with the Sith Empire. Whoever it was, they would truly regret what they were doing this day.

The minefield laid in waiting for the enemies starfighters to attempt to breach the wall of death. Then, missiles were launched from the enemy fleet towards the minefield. "Captain," a junior officer spoke up on the bridge of the Harrower, "they're launching missiles into the minefield." The captain grew a smirk on his face. "Very well. They can't hit all th-" The captain cut himself off as he noticed the missiles launched splitting up before they hit the minefield into flechettes. These would prove problematic for the minefield...if the mines were active. The enemy wasn't close enough for the mines to go active so, for now, they were just floating metal orbs. The flechettes just scraped up the hulls of the mines. Some of the flechettes managed to pierce the mines, but were unable to hit the payloads within the cores of the mines.

"Sir, we seem to be receiving some sort of signal from the enemy fleet." a comms officer spoke up on the bridge of the Harrower. "It appears they're attempting to hack us somehow but from this range it's nigh impossible. It's almost as if they want us to track their systems."

"Do so. Send the information to the Saraaishash. We'll trace their signal all the way back to where they came from."

After the flechettes failed in their mission and the enemy fighters were close enough, the mines IFF activated, tracking the enemy starfighters and, upon proximity, would detonate in a roaring explosion decimating anything within the range of the explosion.

Countermeasures came into heavy play here as the enemy fleet were heavily using warheads to attack. The Muunilist defense fleet's defenses against such attacks were numerous and strong. Most of the warheads launched at them were caught long before they could reach their destination as the warhead countermeasures were hard at work, defending the capital ships from missile fire. Some missiles managed to streak through the defenses and hit the ships' deflector shields. The overlapping shield platforms of the artillery frigates was more than enough to survive the damage from the missile fire and the Exterminators' shields were able to survive the missile fire as well but not by much as their shielding was sub par at best.

The Muunilist defense fleet suffered some heavy damage to their shielding from the combined long ranged weaponry and missile barrage from the enemy fleet, but they continued on. The artillery ships held their position as the rest of the fleet moved forward towards the enemy fleet, keeping up their heavy fire on their targets as they pushed ahead.

Braxant Run

Zahori's fleet neared it's destination. The streaks of light blasting by as the ships traveled through hyperspace through the Braxant Run. It would not be long until they reached their destination as Muunilist was not far from Bastion. RADM Denko stepped into the bridge of her command ship and moved towards her captain's chair before taking her seat in it. "We're nearing our destination, Admiral Denko." a junior officer said. Zahori's hands gripped the armrests of her chair tightly as her anger was growing to intense levels. Someone was attacking her people. She would not stand for such an insult. Once her fleet exited hyperspace, her wrath would be realized.

And then, real space. The blue warping around her fleet disappeared and the enemy fleet was sandwiched between her fleet and the Muunilist defense fleet.

Craig was hit. One hit to his backside caused him to pull his X-Wing up.

"Damn."

Craig joined the ranks of 5 other X-Wing pilots. The battle in space was intense. The constant blasts from the ships around him caused his vision to blur before him. Craig looked around at the other X-Wings. He opened the coms and listened to the captain of the mini-squadron.

"Its time we take it to them on the ground!"

Craig grasped the controls and pushed forward. The 6 X-Wings flew in a tight star formation. With a quick burst of speed the group pushed into the atmosphere of Munnilist. The target was a very small military building containing a supply of thermal detonators. Without retaliation, the X-Wings broke into free form and focused fire on the building. With a quick blast, the building imploded from within.

Several security forces shot up at the X-Wings, but the damage was done.

She could sense his probing suspicion at the name she had produced.

Darth was a title reserved to Lords for many, yet her csen'ai had granted her the title at Knight, just as the csen'ai had been granted hers. Nan'eth'illa was no Lord of the Sith, she was all to aware of that fact, but she was Darth.Filiae. The name was in her flesh and bones. She had fought for it, claimed it, wrested it from death itself. She felt some embarrassment at the ogling eyes, but no shame for using it.

At the 'hands full' comment, she merely gave a jump of her eyebrows and a hint of a smile as response.

Given their same ranking in the Saaraishash, she went through a quick mental process of consideration. The Chiss disliked giving up command as much as anyone, but logic made one strong point: When on Muunilist, listen to the Muun. Did she want to openly accept his advantage? No, never! But she had to accept that his inside knowledge was invaluable. She knew it was what the bird would have wanted.

As he started moving, she did not let him get out of arm's reach, rather fell in step next to him. With her hand, she signalled the Satwasin to fall in step behind her, and then for the Lieutenant to proceed with her report to Saaraishash HQ.

As she walked, her head tilted as though she listened to something far away.

"An enemy fleet has entered the system. Planetary defence is engaging."

Was this the Force? No, her cerebral implants allowed her to tap into local communications, and the moment a foreign fleet entered the system there would be alarms to pick up on for a Saaraishash agent. What she said was what she heard on those communications lines. She was aided by the connection to her cybernetics she had established through Mechu Deru, but they did the brunt of the work in this case.

Running his fingers over a few buttons, Jax powered up his shield generators. His eyes were forward and focussed on his instruments as he slammed the stick down and made a dive towards the engaging fleet. "YEEHA!" Whooping he spun his ship into a corkscrew as he engaged with some enemy TIE fighters, he was having almost too much fun with this.

At this point it would come with much difficulty to restrain him from following a further combined, enemy laser fire flew past causing an explosion nearby that rocketed his ship that he juked his way out of barely. "Argh, I've got one on me!"

"I got you covered pal!" The crackled sound of Vex Terran came over the comm just in the nick of time, shooting down a TIE that had gotten on Jax's tail effortesly without fail or strain.

Jax allowed a sigh of relief to come through as he swerved his X-Wing back over towards the ensuring battle over space. "I owe you one Vex! Drinks on me if we make it through this."

We will make it through this....

It was honestly a too close to call, he was sure that he could have been floating debris if it hadn't been for his moment of exhilaration. The sith empire just had to pay and his goal remained the same to obtain a few kills, he could never truly avenge them but every shot brought him one step closer.

They walked out of the annex office while the Muun mulled over those words.

An invasion, perhaps?

But no, it didn't feel that way in the Force. Danger was there. More pronounced, refined, smaller in scope and yet with the potential of being far more destructive than a full-blown campaign. It all depended on their target, what they wanted from the money world. "No doubt the reinforcements from Bastion are already on their way." It wouldn't be pleasant for whoever was pushing this assault. Muunilinst was the financial center of the Empire, millions flowed through here every day and the Dark Lord would reach out with his long arm.

Shielding it from extensive harm.

They would be here any moment now. Bloating out the sky, large metal hulks with enough firepower to lay waste to whole worlds, systems and sectors. While this Empire had more restraint than most... explaining why so many worlds decided to join at their own leisure?

Sith.

It meant that any opposition would be met with fierce retribution.

"My advice-" It was advice, because neither could command here. But they could bring their expertise and suggest things. "-is for your people to split from us and circle around. Ensure that we do not get caught off-guard during the heat of battle."

Calm, rational, with little inflection in his tone as the Muun unclipped the lightsaber from his belt and whistled.

From one of the alleys... a thing appeared. It was the sentient Xinkra, Vazz, slowly skulking out of the shadows where he had been waiting for his Master. Head tilted in amusement as some of the Mirialans stepped back a touch in surprise and fear. Ardeth could smell it on them. The oily texture of sweat and salt washing over just a touch. "Vazz, you will go with these troopers, protect them." The Xinkra looked at them, curiously, before nostrils twitched and huge head inclined in equally amused acknowledgement.

"Yesss, Masssster."

"We're sustaining heavy damage! Our electronic warfare suite has been shorted out!" the captain of the Impugnment reported.

"This is the second and final volley. Once we fired it, we get out of here; our cover has been compromised!"

Of course, fighters that ventured too close to the minefield took the brunt of them, and the enemy escorts did close in on the fighters as well. Each second they dally here was one second too many, with the enemy reinforcements on their backs slowly moving in, but still, as of now, out of firing range, while the enemy in front of them is closing in, they just couldn't afford to stay much longer. But, with the Impugnment's electronic warfare suite being shorted out, they could no longer make any attempts at slicing the enemy Harrower's missile magazines. Nevertheless, the shields of the Circumstantial Evidence were failing as said Harrower was closing in, and firing whatever it could, turbolasers, ion cannons, mass drivers, and even missiles; also, the Unenforceable Contract was coming under heavy fire, with the Factual Basis and the Impugnment still sustaining fire as the enemy closed in around them. But, if they had only two volleys before leaving the scene, they better make the second volley count, so that they can leave Muunilinst with a bang. And the window of opportunity was soon closing...

"We're down to nine squadrons" the lead pilot was reporting in.

"Still use one squadron each to a corvette; we may as well take out some of them. All other squadrons, concentrate on the enemy Harrower's command tower; once you have done your attack runs, jump to hyperspace!"

"The enemy Harrower is dangerously closing in on us!" the Circumstantial Evidence's pilot screamed, as if panicking.

"Killing the Harrower will allow us to break our encirclement. Our orders have not changed that much; other than that, the C-9980s shall target enemy corvettes"

With that said, there was still a dozen fighter-mounted MIRVs being fired at each of the four corvettes, and fifty-nine more of those headed towards the Harrower's command tower; in all cases, the missiles were fired at much shorter ranges than they previously fired MIRVs from in the first round, hoping that the missiles splitting up in flight would cause some trouble for enemy missile countermeasures. Once that was done, the ordnance was fully expended and the ships began to maneuver out of the planet's way, in preparation for a hyperspace jump so that they would not collide with celestial bodies on their way out. As for the Harrower, in addition to the long-range weaponry, 436 turbolasers in long-range beam firepower, 400 in HVC firepower, and 10 heavy long-ranged solar ionization cannons, there was an additional 436 turbolasers' worth of standard-ranged weapons fired at it. Meanwhile, on top of what was fired on each Xo'Xaan, there was an additional 316 turbolasers' worth of standard-ranged weapons on top of the long-ranged stuff already fired at each them. The new variable here was firing the equivalent of 100 turbolasers at each of the corvettes designated D2 through D4 on targeting sensors from a C-9980. Once the glorious volley was fired...

"Jump to lightspeed!"

And then all Dominion Remnant ships jumped to hyperspace, in a display of blue-and-white streaks as the fleet left Muunilinst behind, glad to have done what they could to avenge Mirial and Kushibah, but at the same time a little disappointed not to have been able to accomplish that much. Yet cutting their losses was key in hit-and-run maneuvering, so they were lucky to only have suffered rather light damage in that operation. Was it an effective disturbance? Perhaps not. But it was a disturbance nonetheless. Then again, the aim of a hit-and-run attack was not to outright capture a location, but to inflict some damage to both enemy morale and also to harass them. Perhaps the amount of damage might have seemed underwhelming at first glance, but it was better than nothing. Hopefully the Sith would realize that, even though the Dominion remnants are scattered at best, they could still linger as a threat, and force them to resort to a fleet-in-being strategy.

At once, the silence was shattered as the enemy fleet jumped out of hyperspace in front of Munnilinst. Shortly after, more friendly warships jumped out of hyperspace, and the battle began.

Starfighters and bombers erupted out of Destiny's hangars, soaring toward the enemy. At the same time, Destiny accelerated and quickly began closing the distance. Rick, still in the coordination level of the command bridge, looked over a large holoscreen in the center of room. Small blue dots represented the fighters and bombers, large blue dots represented capital ships, and the same went with the enemy fleet but in red. It seemed that there was a large amount of enemy vessels, more than Destiny could handle alone, but luckily, it was a hit-and-run operation.

About ten kilometers from enemy formations, turbolasers started firing all over Destiny, aiming at the largest capital ships. Concussion and ion missiles erupted from missile pods throughout the ship, and smaller interceptor missiles were deployed for defense and mine sweeping. The bombers, now closing in at five and a half kilometers, blindly fired proton torpedoes into the enemy formations, while fighters continued to escort and protect them. They then turned back and flew back into the hangar for departure.

Suddenly, multiple large red dots appeared on the holoscreen, one appearing to be almost battlecruiser-sized. If the attack provoked the enemy fleet that much, then the Alliance had preformed well.

"Reverse the vessel and jump to hyperspace." Rick ordered. "We'll take a casualty count after the jump. Make sure no starfighter gets left behind."

As Destiny fired its final missile, it began to turn around, and its turbolaser fire died down. Multiple turbolaser bolts began hitting the vessel, but it was nothing the shielding couldn't hold up. Destiny's compliment of starfighters began to reenter the hangar, and crews immediately ran over to repair any damages inflicted. A few seconds after the warship turned a full 180, the hangar doors began to close, but then paused as a final X-wing reentered, resuming as it passed.

"Commencing jump to lightspeed." a crew member called out from behind Rick.

In front of Destiny was a black, starry void, quickly warping into multiple hues of blue and white as the warship jumped. While it wasn't as satisfying as a true invasion or defensive operation, Rick knew the importance of hit-and-run operations like this. While it did minimal damage to both sides, hit-and-run's impact on the defending fleet's morale was far greater. This would come to show the Sith not to underestimate the Dominion Remnant, despite its size and position in the galaxy. Now, the Sith would have to invest more time into the Remnants, distracting them from other matters.

"Hopefully, they will be able to put a trace on or capture one."

While the Muun spoke and the fur-clad creature crawled closer, Filiae's presence in the force seemed to melt away into nothingness. She did not turn eyes from her physical form, not yet, but she appeared to have no proficiency in the Force. One of the Mirialans handed her a belt that she clipped around her hips. With methodical hands, she drew a blaster, checked it and put it back in the holster on her left hip. She then unclipped the lightsabre hanging from the belt's side and concealed it along the length of her arm.

"Maharw, Xiarthee, set up a communications station and keep it secure. Barlan-" She made a swipe and a circle with her mechanic fingers.

"Yessir." "Boys, Vash katahn" Barlan repeated the motion, and the Satwasin split. Two heading off to one of the buildings to tap into one of the dishes and supply the Saaraishash with intel. The rest made ready to go with the beast Ardeth had summoned.

"Akito!" Something squirmed in the Mirialan lieutenant's shirt and a tiny, masked head poked out. "Go with Maharw and Xiarthee." The tiny creature saluted quietly and squirmed out of Barlan's shirt. The Mirialan did not say anything, nor did she really have any reaction. Before the mouse was about to hit the ground, a tiny jetpack activated and launched it onto Maharw's shoulder.

The party split up and they headed towards the plume of smoke.

The Muun did not comment on the mouse with the jetpack.

It was not a secret that the Lord Inquisitor had a great variety of assistance from the smallest mouse to the largest... demon. The Thirriken was unorthodox if nothing else, but very successful in his trade. The rise of an alien within an Order usually dominated by humans was not a trivial thing. The Saaraishash was dominated by those same aliens, more so than any other organisation within the Empire.

One of the good things he could note about it.

"I was expecting more." Ardeth said as they approached the Intelligence Outpost. Even from a distance he could make out the damage the starfighter had done to it.

But where was the rest?

A ping would sound through their earpiece. From the two Mirialans who had been busy setting up a communication post nearby.

The Muun blinked as their message finished.

"...they left?"

Barr Vexos started to feel grateful that the distraction was paying off for him and the others, he didn’t enjoy the training he gotten from his strict father, it helped him through a lot of situations that he been involved in throughout his life including the one he is about to be in right now. He sighed, the things he did for Democracy, the things other people did for Democracy, makes him wonder If the word itself causes people to go crazy for it once the word is said.

Either way, he knew that now was not the time for thinking about it and instead should be focused on the mission he must finish. Looking outside the ship he was assigned, Barr waited for the signal to head to the planet and recover any information he can.

Filiae's eyes narrowed and her body halted as the message pinged into their coms. She shook her head, considering, measuring, weighing what possible reason there could be for this attack. A part of her wanted to celebrate deterring the fleet and the relatively small scope of the attack that had transpired. Any lesser inquisitor would, but she was raised to be smarter than this: She was raised to do better and to expect better.

"That can't be. This was less than a hit and run. Were they routed so easily?"

Her face screwed up into a sour expression, as though she smelt a foul odour. Why would they hit the intelligence headquarters and then flee?

The intelligence building was already swarming with protection and audience, not to mention cameras. The eyes of the Empire turned to the pillar of smoke as Imperial fleets encircled the planet in defence.

"Where else could they target that would harm the Empire?"

She looked at the Muun from the side of her eye, expecting him to have some sort of suggestion. This was his world, after all, and the Muuns were infamous for their abilities to find profits in even the most desolate cases. She was a Chiss, a technician, a seeker and solver of problems for the smooth running of the Empire. The Empire's strength lay in their diversity and the diverse strengths of its inhabitants. If they could utilise each other?

Then they would be a force stronger than genome-uniformity.

The attacking fleet was in full retreat once Zahori's fleet exited hyperspace behind them. Zahori was too late to complete the destruction of their fleet, but the damage was done, nonetheless. She didn't know how, but Zahori managed to scare them off. And she didn't even have to fire a single missile. Whatever the case may be, it was a victory for the Sith.

The crews of the Muunilist Defense Fleet were accessing damages. The Harrower and Xo'Xaans were badly damage, but nothing that a few weeks of repair couldn't fix. The attacking fleet did not make it through, that's all that matters. Sacrifice was an aspect that the Sith Empire knew all too well. They didn't let it bother them. They just repaired and moved on. This day was no different.

Zahori had recieved a direct message from the captain of the Harrower. "Admiral Denko. It certainly is a pleasure to see you, ma'am." the captain began.

"Report, captain." she commanded.

The captain cleared his throat before getting on with his report. "Yes, of course. The small fleet of ships entered the system and immediately started attacking us. There were no demands or anything. They unleashed all of their force against us. That is, until you showed up. Once you did, they turned tail and ran. We presume that either it was an invasion that failed or an attempt at weakening the defense for a future attack. Either way, we've held them off. Our tacticians have discovered that the ships that attacked were of Ringovida design but no certainty who was behind it." the captain reported.

"So, we were attacked but we've no clue who by or why. Is that your report?" Zahori asked in a less than satisfied tone.

"Well, uh, no ma'am. There is more. During the battle, we recieved a ping from one of their ships. A signal. One we were able to latch a virus on to. As we speak, it's burying itself into their computer's coding and transmitting a signal directly to us. We'll know who attacked us very soon, ma'am." the captain added.

Zahori seemed please. "Very good. Get the data to the nearest Saraaishash. They'll know what to do with it. Focus on getting the ships repaired and back into commission." The feed cut out. Zahori held her fleet in the system for the time being in case there'd be a reflash. The data would be transmitted to the nearest Saraaishash operative. The Muunulist Defense Fleet continued repairs with aid from engineers from RADM Denko's fleet.
