1...2...3...JUMP!! (PM/Invite)

...and they we're out the door. Twisters was usually a great place, but not when rich boys walked in throwing their credits around. JJ and [member="Sasha Voss"] needed to get out of the parlor because of the argument that was happening. [member="Tes Dralyn"] was frustrated and she let everyone know it. JJ knew it was best to get out of there. The hover blades needed to be put in the locker they had rented for the day since their home was on the Lesan Compund in the foothills of Coronet peak. JJ liked the home, but the distance to everything else was a bother sometimes. That's why he always liked it when his mother [member="Katara Starkos"] had business in town.

Once they got their shoes, JJ stopped to be sure the others were coming. The cliff jumping was going to be fun, and while not planned, was a better idea than hanging at Twisters. At least he knew Sasha would like it. The two were forming a bond of some kind, whether it was more sibling like in nature or something else was yet to be.

"So should we wait for Tes, or just go to the cliff?

I had my hands shoved in my pockets. I wasn't a huge fan of heights. "We should wait. Wouldn't be very nice if we left her behind." It wasn't really my place to speak, seeing as how I barely knew these people. I only knew their names because they'd said them so often in front of me. They didn't have to listen to me. I scuffed the top of my shoe on the permacrete and looked down.

It didn't take long before they had made it to where the park's rental lockers were located and their stuff was stashed for the day. Sasha was actually glad to take off her hover blades as the left one was starting to give her a blister. The magneta-haired teen quickly slipped on her soft leather boots, then joined [member="Judah Lesan Jr."] and [member="Yoka Anume"].

"Well if [member="Tes Dralyn"] isn't here in like a couple of minutes and/or the others we invited along, I think we should just go on to the cliff area. Tes knows where to find us," Sasha chimed in, then asked downtrodden girl out of common curiosity. It was like looking in the mirror of her past.

"Are you from Corellia, Yoka? I'm from Denon… Spent most my younger life in a city orphanage there, then cut loose and went streetwise until I came across JJ's Dad. What's your sit right now?"

Melissa sighed softly as she sat on a nearby bench and swung her legs. Eventually she got bored and walked to the group. "What exactly are we doing again?" Melissa asked as she got there, she looked around noting that she was only a couple centimeters shorter than Judah, she sighed, it was one of the many physical traits she had inherited from her father, extreme height, she was only thirteen and was already almost as tall as a boy a year older than her.

I shrugged. "I was born here. Don't know what happened to my parents. Wasn't raised by them. Been street-bound my whole life. My friend Teth took care of me up until he got really sick about a year or so ago. I tried to earn enough money to get him some meds, but I was too late." I used to have a lot of trouble thinking about Teth. It felt like I'd failed him somehow. But then, I'd remember how he'd cuff the back of my head and tell me not to be stupid enough to think that way. It made me feel a lot better.

"Right, Tes does know the way so we'll give everyone a couple minutes," JJ said acknowledging what [member="Sasha Voss"] and [member="Yoka Anume"] said.

[member="Melissa Corek"] followed along rather quickly it seemed, curious as to what they were doing.

"Cliff jumping," the dark haired Corellian said. "The park has a cliff with a five meter drop into a pool of water. It's fun and you will get wet. The sun is shining so we'll dry quickly, and I've done this a million times so it's totally safe."

That was for benefit of those who might be afraid. JJ wasn't though. Even though his hair was not red like his mother's, JJ did have his Mach 10 hair on fire moments. The seemingly quiet and docile teenager was only so around other teens his age because it helped hide the fact he was a Jedi. Judah Sr. had always been adamant that JJ needed to keep his force sensitivity a secret since his training was done outside any formal Jedi faction. The temptation to show off once he got the water was strong though. One secret JJ even was keeping from Sasha, and more because the opportunity had never presented itself, was his strength with the elemental skills, especially water.

"Okay, Tes knows the place, so if you're already, we can go."

[member="Tes Dralyn"]

Sasha slipped on her backpack, then turned to the other teens. "Wanna race to the cliffs?" she asked, bright blue eyes looking to see if there were any takers in the group.

Now racing I could handle. I wasn't exactly known for being slow. "I'll race you," I responded.

She knew that they wouldn't wait forever for her, so she had been in a rush the whole time, between squaring things away with [member="Leon Heath"], and getting herself cleaned up and changed. She'd learned long ago to never go anywhere without a simple change of clothes, something not too bulky. Fortunately, it had only been her shirt that'd suffered, and it'd need hardcore stain treatment. At least in the rush, her focus had been drawn away from the argument with that moron. Not that it was completely driven from her mind, no. She would doubtless have a less than cheery reaction the next time she had to set eyes on Jan VonFowl, and she was hoping that the first time was also the last because there was just no way that Corellia was that small. No. Way.

One changed, she arrived to join the others before they managed to leave without her. Thanks to her training regimen for grav-ball, she wasn't all that out of breath. Just a small handful of moments, and she'd be good. Which was a good thing, too, because she could have sworn she heard something about a race. It helped, of course, that [member="Yoka Anume"] had reiterated the fact by agreeing to race.

"Hey guys..." she looked at [member="Judah Lesan Jr."] and [member="Sasha Voss"], before settling on [member="Melissa Corek"]. That brought a smile to her face. "...hey, Melissa. Glad you came!"

Then it occurred to her, and her smile turned to something a little more sheepish.

"Sorry, guys, about the... um... mess back there. Really. But that guy was an utter ass," and just like that, her smile returned. "So, cliff jumping?"

And that smile upgraded to a clean-toothed grin.

"Last one there is a stinky, wet bantha!"

And she was off, before any more words could be said.

JJ's comm went off with a message from [member="Jen Ardellian"] about the time [member="Sasha Voss"] asked about a race. [member="Yoka Anume"] agreed to it, and before JJ could answer with his own affirmative, [member="Tes Dralyn"] was apologizing for the mess at Twisters and then took off running. Since others were running, JJ wasn't sure he should give away the fact he was able to use the force. Sure Tes, and Sasha new, but the other two girls who were there didn't and to take off like that wouldn't be fair. Life was never fair, but JJ, he was. One of these days he would be toast when Sasha found out there were times he let her win. There was something JJ's dad had said to him though when it came to women, and why it was important to treat them right. "When she wins, you win," he would always say, and JJ figured his dad knew what he was talking about.

"I'm down, and Tes already started," he said running off to try and catch her.

He did drop into Sasha's mind again. For whatever reason he liked doing that. Their bond was something that he didn't have with anyone else. So yes his friends were few, but Sasha, for the short amount of time she had been part of the Lesan family, was the closest. Were he older, JJ might have understood the significance of that thought, but right now he cherished it for what it was.

//"You want to put a wager on this one?"//

I smiled and ran after them. I wasn't carrying my sniper rifle, which made me even faster. I was now right next to Sasha with JJ gaining close behind. Tes was about a foot ahead of us. IT was going to be close, but I was positive I could pull ahead. After all, I loved running!

// "Dishes for one week, Jediboy." // Sasha sent back mentally through their bond, using the same nickname [member="Judah Lesan Jr."]'s mother used for his father. She had no idea why, but it had just come out that way.

The competitive nature in the magenta-haired teen made her kick it up a notch without dipping into the Force just yet as it had been drilled into both JJ and herself by their masters not to use it frivolously or in public unnecessarily. With all of them running near neck and neck, the finish would be a close one.

//"You're on, Red,"// came the natural reply.

JJ had heard the Jediboy used on his father so many times hearing it from Sasha didn't phase him. Judah had a couple of pet names for Katara, well many, but one that naturally rolled off JJ's lips was Red. It sort of worked with Sasha. Her hair was magenta, dyed though. JJ could have sworn he saw some auburn, red, roots peeking through. Part of JJ was curious if his parents would let her keep dying her hair. In many ways they had adopted her as their own, but in other ways she still had some freedom as though she wasn't. He was glad his dad brought her to stay with them. The house wasn't as lonely with someone else his age around all the time, but it was getting weird. Not because she was weird or JJ didn't like her, but because they were maturing, and JJ started noticing things he hadn't before.

The group srated neck in neck, and JJ didn't have to use the force. He wouldn't either. The cliff was in sight and so JJ pressed harder. He was conflicted. Yes, he knew what he should do, but he hated doing the dishes. JJ hated seeing her unhappy though, so at the last minute, JJ found a twig to have to jump over that slowed him down without having to obviously let the girls win.
