STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Ironsides - The ship can take an incredible pounding without sustaining serious damage by virtue of its thick slab-sided construction.
  • Big Bird, Little Bird - The ship has a good combination of capital ship and anti-fighter weapons.
  • Get in my Belly - Can carry two squadrons of craft.
  • Big Boned - Large interior space for craft and personnel due to its pyramidal shape, about 100,000 cubic meters of volume!
WEAKNESSES
  • Partially Exposed - Squadron of Support Craft are kept in external mounts, unprotected by the thick hull of the ship.
  • Turtle - A High Mass for its Size, due to its thick armor, makes it a bit sluggish in realspace.
  • Stop and Go - Must deactivate engines to safely launch or retrieve a squadron from its aft facing internal hangar bay, otherwise the aft engine energies will interfere with the transiting craft.
  • Watch Your Back - No aft weapons coverage suitable for defending against Capital Ships

DESCRIPTION
Personnel Carriers such as this Preox Morlana Personnel Carrier date back to the era between the Clone Wars and the Battle of Yavin. They were popular with mega-corporations and conglomerates who needed to maintain order in Free Trade space. When the Empire took over the security of the Free Trade Zones, these vehicles fell into disuse, with only a few still manufactured today for corporations operating on the rim.

Veer Mattox, a Warbreed Arkanian who had revolted against his masters, purchased one of these ships from a scrapyard on Ferrix. He ran a mercenary company from the ship, which he named ‘Gorskin’ for the famed giant sea turtle of Dorumaa. He continued renovating and updating it throughout his life. The ship passed to his son Xac Mattox and then on to his son Box Mattox, who commands it today.

Over the years, the ship’s capabilities have been expanded with uprated weapons, shields, medical facilities, and an internal hangar bay to supplement the external hangar. The ship is not especially quick, and will never catch a fleeing ship. But it is a good mobile base for mercenaries and has all the embarked craft and defenses it needs to keep from falling victim to the dangers of deep space while executing contracted missions.
