Minor Faction The Siege of Harridan

Harridan, once a prison world, it had been liberated by the Diarchy from its brutal wardens in a swift military strike. Even though relative stability had followed, the old systems were never truly gone and remnants only waited in the shadows to reclaim their dominion over the inward facing fortresses. Such chance came in the wake of the collapse of the Galactic Empire. Imperial Warlords roaming the stars was nothing unusual by now, but members of the now unbound Dark Side Elite claiming assets and devolving ever further into their cruel and brutal ways became an increasing problem.

Among them was Lord Malrec, a sinister follower of the Church of Dark Side and a Sith in all but name. Having gathered cult forces, army units and fleet squadrons, he became a scourge of the northern territories, pillaging and plundering in the name of an order that only he and his kin knew and celebrated. Brutal enforcement of an oppressive order, forced worship of the Dark side and either mandatory conscription or slave labor were the only options for many people. For the civilisation of Harridan this came as a dark reminder when a duo of Star Destroyers appeared in their orbit.

Prison and labor camps were reinstated, wardens that were loyal to the Sith reinstated and troops under an imperial banner brutally enforced the old system.

But the people of Harridan were not abandoned to their fate. Several ships emerged from hyperspace, engaged the star destroyers and deployed their forces to protect the world against the barbarian invaders. And they too flew the colours of the Empire. Under the leadership of the Imperial Knight-Captain Halicor the remnants of the 104th Stormtrooper Legion landed planetside and joined a growing resistance movement.

What ensued was a guerilla war at first, with the Felist Imperials using the knowledge of the locals to hide in the terrain and strike against vital targets, but with mounting losses and the Dark Imperials sending more reinforcements, devolved into a siege. The valiant defenders were now cut off from the outside as they had fortified themselves in a mountain fortress that was carved deep into the rock. Distress signals were sent.

Now they awaited either death or relief.
