Sith Order Space
877 ABY
Concurrent with the Jiaasjen Purge

From the moment Darth Carnifex vacated the executive box on Jutrand, mechanism were already being put into motion. Though the Kainate had been put on the backfoot by the alliance between the Eternalists and the Tsis'kaari, they were not wholly unprepared for what came next. So when the long shikkari of the Tsis'kaar came for the enemies of the burgeoning new order, sinking into the necks of warlords, industrialists, and malcontents alike, the Kainate was ready. Many would still die, but it would not be the total triumph that the newly minted Emperor would envision.

The Kainate had learned, they'd experienced what treachery Darth Ophidia could inflict upon them. Once, they had nearly brought the Eternalists to ruin in a meticulously laid trap, but had been stopped from delivering the coup de grâce by Ophidia's betrayal. That day had been forever cemented in the minds of the Kainites, a lesson that they would never forget. So, when the time came, the Kainate were prepared; they were ready.

Assassins found themselves suffering the fate they had hoped to inflict on others, their momentum halted and reversed. What followed was a massacre, a vicious bloodletting as Kainate forces purged the traitors from their midst. Assassins of their own moved against Eternalist and Tsis'kaar targets, catching some unawares. The Fellowship of the Eclipse, a militant cult dedicated to Darth Carnifex, which had seeded itself in non-Kainate worlds during the length of the Sith Order's expansion in the Outer Rim, revealed themselves and began to indiscriminately cause chaos and mayhem.

The decapitating strike had been blunted.

But the blood would yet flow.
