R E S I G N A T I O N

869 ABY
To the Presidium of the Confederacy,

In light of our operations over Rhand, I am resigning my military commission effectively immediately.

I cannot, in good conscience, continue to lead the Confederacy when I failed so many sons and daughters of it over Rhand. Nor can I support needless bloodshed. Our operation against the Brotherhood of the Maw was ordered seemingly out of random, uncoordinated, and blundered at every measure. While I may have failed to anticipate complications, the Confederacy as a whole failed our military that day. The losses and deaths of so many are not on my shoulders alone.

To the brave soldiers and officers of the Confederacy; it has been an honor to serve with and for each and every one of you. I am proud to say that during my tenure as High Marshal and Minister of War, I served among the best, brightest, and most capable the Confederacy has to offer. Although the losses of good men such as Verin Oldo and Vemric Keldra will be felt, I am confident that new officers will rise to the occasion to defend this nation.

Remain stalwart. Do not falter.

Kiff Brayde
