From the Desk of the Minister of War:
A new wind of change is in the air. Can you feel it?
Some of you may know me, some of you may not. For those less fortunate souls, let me take this time to introduce myself: an Arkanis Naval Academy Graduate. Captain, Sky Marshal, High Marshal, and now Minister of War. I can't control what you may or may not have heard about me, so I'll leave it at this. I'm Kiff Brayde, your new Minister of War.
We are now turning our eyes towards the future. Before us stands what will be a trial that will not only test our faith, but determine the future of the Confederacy itself. I am prepared to face the galactic inferno, but I implore that each one of you ask yourselves the same. It would seem that the deck is stacked against us, that the Armed Forces have been dealt a shoddy hand. We've had a few high-profile resignations from the Armed Forces, yes. For their service, we are grateful, and for their future, we wish them the best of luck. Enemies encircle us from all about.
I cannot offer you any false words of comfort, of smooth sailing ahead. I can only promise you blood, sweat, and tears. But shall we emerge from this trial victorious, then we will emerge as a nation forged in fire and strengthened through victory. And, I am prepared to do everything in my power as your new Minister of War to ensure that future, the future of a better, brighter Confederacy and Galaxy. I am prepared; are you?
