Life Day - Concurrent with the Jiaasjan Purge and Kainate Lustration

"Intercept the targets."

Her voice echoed into the ears and minds of her shadowy web. Her word was without question, friend or foe, the word was given. Knives were drawn, poison dispensed, triggers pulled in the name of a less bloody coup. After the sound of muted shots, the night grew ever more silent. Some of these assassins were hidden out of view, targeting their prey through blasters, slugs, or even disruptors; other assassins were old friends or even seemingly servile droids whose true allegiance suddenly revealed itself in voilent forms. Some, especially those of high symbolic rank, were afforded death by shikkar. Once, the glass knife was an insult, now it meant you were someone whose death was worthy of a signature.

The Darkseekers, the Knives of the Tsis'kaar, were out in Force.

But all was not as it would seem, for betrayal layered upon betrayal. The Kainites managed to repell a considerable amount of the assassinations, more than expected. It would seem they were more prepared than anticipated. Darth Ophidia heard in her own com and felt through the Force as many of her agents were cut away from her web. No matter, it would all end the same.

She too had made contingencies.

Assassins, unmarked in the plans of the coup, moved to shift further powers away from the Emperor and place the blame on insurgents. While she assumed Empyrean would suspect, she knew he could never prove her deed.

"Some recognise the magnitude of an event before it is done, they sense the ripples of destiny."

He knew what he had bargained with.

"Foresight separates the Darth from the dead."

And he knew the risks.
