DESCRIPTION

The Regency-Class Fleet Carrier was developed as part of the new modernization program occuring within the empire. Imperial High Command was concerned that the empire was expanding far too rapidly for the Imperial Armada to adequately patrol every system within the empire from hostile powers and pirate incursions. The new carrier was commissioned to remedy that problem by being a proper support vessel for patrol craft operating within the very fringes of the empire's ever-expanding territory. Developed from chiss star destroyer blueprints captured during the Chiss Rebellion and combining them with venator-style hangers utilized by the ancient galactic republic during their war with the confederacy of independent systems. Coming equipped with considerable defenses and starfighter capacity makes it well able to handle pirate threats when the Imperial Armada is preoccupied.
