Strengths:
  • All
    • Hair-tails: Their hair is not made from follicles but from small nerves wrapped in a thin membrane to protect it. Easily able to be used as a whip or lash, able to wrap around objects and with enough training lift them. The hair acts almost like a living thing that can grow longer and be severed leading to intense near shock inducing pain.
  • Gari:
    • Stronger Muscle Mass: Being the more masculine of the two land based species the dark skinned being are built slightly stronger and larger to protect their mates.
    • Natural Weapons: Their fingers and cuticles are naturally longer providing claws that are stronger against flesh but useless against armor.
  • Jenr:
    • Animal Friendly: A natural force affinity, the golden skinned beings can commune with animals on their world easier.
    • Heightened Senses: Their hearing and sense of taste is naturally higher then normal allowing them to hear predators in the distance to seek protection.
  • Comm:
    • Thick Skin: With the pressure of being under the ocean their skin is stronger than the rest of their race able to resist teeth and small blades.
    • Gills: Created behind their ears by the arkanians the ability to breath underwater is natural but out of the water they are only able to breathe for a little while. A side effect of their evolution was the lose of ability to breath on dry land.
  • Marz-Toe:
    • Natural Absorption: Their skin absorbs the radiation from their world more naturally allowing them to process it and strengthen their bodies in a form of tutaminis that has evolved overtime.
      Evolving over time off of the experiments preformed on them by the Arkania's. The Marz bodies muscle and bones are weaker and lighter with their skin more porous to absorb ambient energy within the air and they convert it naturally in a basic form of tutaminis (energy conversion) that they use to preform flight on their home planet. Without the radiation in the air and atmosphere they cannot convert enough through their bodies to sustain themselves in the air.
    • Given this they are usually only encountered on their homeworld in the high mountains.
    • Force Flight: With their bodies lighter and bones more hardened jelly the Marz can fly using the energy they absorb through their skin that is converted to telekinetic energy to propel them into the skin for flight.
      • Limitations:
        5km's into the air is the highest most have been seen
      • They have never been times but converge at the peaks of mountains high up and away from the views of others.
        • Force Flight is unable to be used on worlds without radiation
        • Force Flight cannot be maintained with a constant source or energy being converted through their skin
        • Force Flight cannot be used while in their radiation suits due to the excess weight
Weaknesses:
  • Radiation Dependent: Their world is highly irradiated compared to most, over time they have developed a tolerance to it able to survive but only on their world. When Off world they need to wear a suit that keeps them irradiated.
  • Brittle Bones: Radiation has slowly made their bones weaker allowing them to support their body weight plus a little more but they can take more impact. The Mar feeling the effects more as their bones provide little protection when under pressure.
  • Limited vision: The species possess weaker eyesight only being able to see in a limited spectrum.
  • Gravity Sensitive: The species as a whole is very sick around gravity affecting materials and highly sensitive to large scale changes in it.
  • Containment: As a species they absorb radiation but that also means they are highly irradiaated and can be dangerous to other species around them.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Food cubes, meats, processed food. They can eat most foods on their planet and protein food pastes but non irradiated foods can be dangerous to them depending on how much they eat.

  • Religion/Beliefs:
    • Deities:
      Scáthach: God of Love and crafter of the species, her hand made them how they were from primitive beginnings and also brought fire to the world that burned it poisoning them into the different groups they have become.
      Annuvin: God of war and the one who taught them how to fight pitting them against each other to become the strongest and most dominant on the planet.
      Loath: The creator of the Marz with his power and magics, he wanted to have beings who could soar over the battlefield and attack the enemies of the other gods.
      Seraphine: Goddess who controlled the oceans and the Comm, her fury made them into a military unit that could attack enemies, her anger at the other gods who controlled the land and poisoned her oceans led to a civil war.
      Pavarotti: The god who became mortal and is celebrated. She was once the promised of Loath instead choosing to rescue the Maz from the being who came from the sky and driving them away.

      Re-population: The species reproduces after ingesting enough to form a new child in their wombs. They do not need intercourse and use it only as a form of recreation if anything. With outsiders it is dangerous as they could poison them with radiation.
      Combat: Civil war is not uncommon, fighting between the land, sea and sky has made the different tribes of the species distrustful of each other but fearful of outsiders who could bring weapons and tip the balance. They won't kill everyone who comes to their world but the tribes would be secretive and work to not let them meet the others if it means they could get an advantage.
      Exploration: In the Marz society they rarely if ever explore outside of their world. The need to be bathed in radiation at near all times and getting sick when not around it keeps them locked on the planet.

      Hyrcania: The land of the dead and an ancient tomb visited by the elders. When one is going to die they go to the tomb and return to the planets heart leaping into an abyss.

      Unkara: World of the gods, a mountain range with an ancient ship that came from their world and the source of both the mist that transformed them and the fire that burned the sky.

      The Fei: A neutral event on the world, the different tribes send their best warriors and athletes to compete for glory and renown

      Thannigari: An artform, their bodies are the canvas and over their lifetime as they do different things they receive new tattoos. (example, birth, graduation, having a child.)
  • General behavior:
    • With Each other: With each other the different tribes are welcoming and kind. The dark skinned Gari and golden skinned Jenr live together as they are the closest after several thousands of years on a genetic level. The other two have slowly evolved into their own sub species in the air and the water claiming dominion and creating clear borders. The rainbow ones of the sky worshiping a crystal found from a crashed ship that upon entering the atmosphere the ones inside died out. Within the poisoned sea the thick skinned and hot tempered fight fiercely against those who try and take more then what hey have allowed them to keep on near the land.

      War: Usually over petty and dangerous slights. The industrialization of the world led to pollution going into the oceans and air. The races fighting in wars that devastated the attempts as fixing up the world. Each tribe functions as a check and balance keeping the others from really developing beyond the basics that can be defended with farms or small food stocks for different clans within the tribes. Under the sea and in the air building facilities is next to impossible with no way to construct refineries or mining equipment.

      With Outsiders: With outsiders their mannerisms and disposition changes, they do not like them but they aren't ones to attack everything that comes. THey dislike ones prying into their past and business but they are not going to go out of their way to micromanage and control their every action while on the world. The uniqueness of some of the tribes and their dislike for each other over actions from the last tens of thousands of years keeps them from ever truly working together to repel invaders.
      Isolation: A sound part of their species, with the intense radiation on the world there are not many that can survive let alone make a home there and with their bodies need to have it nearly at all time. They rarely leave their world only if truly needed for communicating with other species donning a suit that can keep radiation close to them.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The History of the Maz is a stranger one with not much known before they were uplifted and experimented on by the Arkanians tens of thousands of years ago. An Arkanian sleeper ship discovered the world and the primitive species finding their genetics were more open to being experimented on for years as the population of the sleeper ship remained in orbit. With their work teaching some what more to the Maz while they got them to work as a cheaper labor force to build and construct warships. The worlds within the system rich and unexplored as they sent their Nusoldiers to attack.

With the danger of the alterations they had given them new threats slowly emerged like the slaves rebelling and starting to look at their gods as men and women... Advanced but still flesh and blood. So the order was given and the world was burned, nukes being launched that were targeted towards the major population centers and the Arkanians sought to salt the earth before moving on in their ship. The remaining Maz slowly working to recover and with the information they had designing sleeper ships as they sought to escape the radiation on the world that was slowly poisoning it.

They sent ships out into space to try and find a new colony, not all the of the species the ones who had been able to remain the closest genetics wise to allow for them to repopulate and believing the genetically modified ones would die out. The ships were never heard from again. One colony ship crash landing in a jungle world where they built a city until they were discovered by the Arkanians as still being alive and were wiped out. A second sleeper ship crash landing on a world in the galaxies edge crashing into one of their cities and making a home.

As time went on the Maz found a way to live, slowly regrowing their numbers and repopulating the world as the radiation changed their bodies and they adapted. The small genetic anomaly that made them appealing giving them a chance not large but enough that they could learn to survive off the radiation on the world and slowly become sick when off world. Outsiders who came quickly discovered that when meeting with them on a ship and the delegates choked to death in the ship. As more time went on the world was forgotten since the species couldn't leave safely and visiting wasn't happening often.

Eventually as they repopulated and were left alone the species settled into three main tribes. One within the air, one in the sea and two of them joined on the land. Able to till the soil and develop food paste they could eat as they lived a rather primitive lifestyle developing handtools and some modern shelters but not much further. THe ancient ships that had crashed on the planet providing things they could work with and caring for the ones who were sick and dying from the radiation. Eventually after they were discovered once again things slightly changed.

A jedi and a rogue found the world using the sleeper ships starcharts and records. Exploring an ancient city as they sought fortune and glory with Anastasia Rade and Matsu Ike eventually finding the world and venturing down to the surface. in suits with a radiation deflection badge they could use while exploring. They met the Maz on the surface and watching and observing them slowly as they worked to understand their language and customs. Learning more of their history from crude paintings and looking over the religious iconography.

As Matsu and Anastasia slowly work more and more they met the other tribes of the planet and species observing the rainbow skinned flyers who were squishy and not strong but they fed off the radiation high in the clouds that was the cause of blocking out the sun. They worked to learn what they could from them and finally venturing to the ocean discovered the cruel and dangerous water dwellers who while unable to come out of the water were as she could see a dangerous predator to those who were unaware.

The time on the planet wasn't something she could measure though and Matsu didn't really have a plan. She didn't know if the Maz would want to be part of the galaxy but providing them with suits that could hold radiation within them would allow them if they wanted to try and meet other governments and if anything get them to stay away from the planet while they lived or maybe they could get supplies to build their world up. The choice was theirs while the jedi master made some notes in her books.

Further research, further exploration and information from the species allowed them to expand outwards... with advancements thanks to the jedi on their radiation suits they were able to explore the galaxy and set up colonies that would function with biodomes essentially... as a means to entrap radiation and everything they needed to survive but be on worlds where they might not have been able to interact before... or on ships that others might think were dangerous.

Attacks on several worlds saw them retreat a little but come back to help rebuild and donate their skills. Some of them as guards and workers, others to explore and give them information. With the attacks in some cases where weapons were used radiaation permitted them to excel forward in helping as they could go in and clear out flooded areas that might be dangerous to other species. Endearing them more to some of them as well as making it useful as Sasori built them habitat vessels they could live on aand use to explore the galaxy seeking worlds that would be able to house them with colonies.

Because this is a very...unique power and one that doesn't have much [if any] canon precedent, I'm going to ask you to go into a bit more detail here explaining more of the extent of this power.

How does this ability of flight actually work? How high can they fly? How long can they fly for? Or is this, perhaps, more a power of simply hovering a few feet off the ground?

I realize that this race is rather restricted to this one particular world, so I would also like you to put down that the Marz-toe are only capable of flight on their home planet and other planets similarly effected by radiation. I do not want to see these guys flying in radiation suits all over the galaxy- the stipulation here being that the suit would add too much weight and would also interfere with their ability to fly by containing/blocking the energy they use to do it.
