Description: The ZX stock light freighter is actually a fairly old design, pre-dating the Gulag Virus by several decades. It was an early experiment at creating a true paramilitary ship, but before sales could take off, the plague hit and the few production plants that held the designs were shutdown. Fast forward to the present and these abandoned factories have been found and brought online by individuals looking for a sturdier ship than what the market typically offers.
Rather than shutdown the operations, Corellian Engineering decided to allow production to continue under private ownership, provided that they were paid their dues. While this was the preferred arrangement for both sides, it had the side-effect of reducing the overall numbers being produced, as private owners cannot acquire materials at the scale that CEC could. Still, the ZX is a remarkably sturdy design, capable of sustaining hull breaches over seventy percent of its hull and still retain almost full functionality.
Propelled by four massive engines grouped into two large housing units, the ZX flies at moderate speeds. The external housing of the engines allows for quick repairs and replacement should they be damaged, which is fortunate as such damage happens regularly even with the armor plating. Rather than set the turrets themselves, the designers of the ZX instead placed twelve hardpoints on the ship, though the ship's power core can support at most six active turrets.
The other unusual feature about the ship comes from the two external heat sinks situated on the "wings" of the ship. When running hot, or intentionally set, the heatsinks will vent the excess heat and waste gases, creating fiery plasma trails behind the ship. While posing no harm to the engines except due to extreme long-term venting, the design feature does provide reckless or inventive captains with a surprise to place up their sleeves
