STANDARD FEATURES:
Market status: Closed-Market
Production status:
Semi-Unique
Resistances:
  • Lightsabers: Extreme
  • Energy blasts: Extreme
  • Kinetic energy: Extreme
  • Thermal: Very High (see weaknesses for caviat)
  • Force Sensory powers: Very High
  • Radiation: Very Low
  • Sonic: Very Low
  • EMP: High
  • ION: High
  • Corrosive materials: High

SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Insanely durable: Thanks to the nigh impervious nature of Zillonite, it can be counted among the most durable materials known in the galaxy, finding itself amongst other legendary materials such as Beskar and orbalisk.
  • Flexibility: Despite being durable like Beskar, Zillonite has the advantage of being biological in origin, meaning that it has a certain flexibility unmatched by metal and mineral materials with comparable durability.
  • Heatshield capacity: Zillonite is very good at absorbing and redistributing heat, allowing for it to see potential use in shipbuilding as well as armor crafting.
  • Low electronic visibility: As a biological material in nature, it has a much less pronounced magnetic presence and is capable of fooling electronics and sensors due not being magnetic and thus a natural isolator for sensors and electronic signals, allowing for the material to have limited stealth capacity.
STRENGTHS
  • Near Legendary: Zillonite as the name implies, is based on the plated chitin of Zillobeasts, an extremely rare and near legendary creature, which before its extinction was known for having one of the toughest exoskeletons and hides within the known galaxy.
  • Nearly impervious to conventional weaponry: With extreme resistances against lightsabers, energy blasts, thermal fluctuations, kinetic energy and EMP/ION, this is possibly one of the most durable and nigh-impervious materials on the market.
  • technological marvel: As a bilboard for the N&Z's bio-engineering prowess, the Zillonite material is probably the best advertisement possible for the company, as it allows for a counter to the ever-present Beskar to exist.
  • Stealth Capacity: Due to its biological mock up, zillonite can fool sensors, electronic devices, and even the use of the force that usually focus on magnetic fields and electronics or presence of the force to properly analize and locate targets, but as this material has neither much of a magnetric field nor metals and provides excellent coverage from the force, it can be seen as quite capable of hiding vital people, parts and other things worth hiding from the prying senses.
WEAKNESSES
  • No customization: Don't like rust brown, white, gray or beige... tough luck, because those are the only colors possible for zillonite to exist in.
  • Small quantities: due to its rarity and the production cost of the material, while it can be used for ship parts, it lacks the use for large pieces such as hulls of ships as it can't be welded together, being limited to personal armors, ship parts and at best large vehicles with some reach. As plates need to be bound, glued or riveted, they can't provide the same level of safety as metalic materials would be capable of doing for ships.
  • Low resistances against sonic weaponry
  • high thermal resistance does not mean it can act as a good insulation material, as its resistance is purely based on whether or not heat or cold damage it, not about how well it can stop heat or cold.
DESCRIPTION

The N&Z has always had a fascination with bringing out the best materials onto the market. From the old Ersteel compounds and infinium alloys to the modern day Ersteel SLCA and Infinium EVA alloys which are used for the bulk of its own products. For many decades, the existence of Beskargem has been a thorn in the company's eyes, giving mainly its Galactic Alliance-based and Mandalorian competition a leg up. To counter this, the N&Z had its N&Z Laboratories division come up with a solution which could be produced in-house and would succeed in the following criteria:

-An extremely dense, yet somewhat flexible atomic mock up
-Nigh impervious to common weaponry
-extremely durable
-With potential stealth capabilities.

With these requirements in mind, the N&Z Laboratories division started their research, investigating numerous alleys in which to see such a material come to fruition. However, it was a memorandum of the former Director Liin "Tera" Terallo Liin "Tera" Terallo that sparked the race for the perfect material. She had apparently made a note on how Biomolecules could adjust themselves and replicate the properties of other materials they would bond with, essentially allowing them to be integrated within a chosen material and effectively multiplying the amount of said material due to their adaptability.

This ofcourse set the researchers' sights onto the few remaining pieces of Zillo beast plates which were available for the N&Z. These pieces were delicate due to being in a semi-fossilised state, but held the genetic markers and keys to recreate the mighty zillo beast's chitinous hide and in combination with the biomolecules allowed for the researchers to engineer a near perfect copy of the zillo beast's hide, effectively branded as Zillonite. However, due to the rarity of both the basic materials and the Biomolecules themselves, Zillonite would remain an extremely rare, but certainly desirable material.
