Zev Corrin is a heavily built Boosodian with a broad, hunched frame and thick limbs suited for shipboard work and boarding combat. His gray, wrinkled skin folds heavily around his neck and shoulders, with faint red markings circling parts of his face and eye clusters.

His face is dominated by twenty independently moving eyes, constantly scanning in different directions and across multiple layers of perception, including the electromagnetic spectrum.

He wears a worn Outer Rim coat reinforced with light armor plating, utility belts, and ship-scrap modifications designed for boarding actions and long-term survival aboard his vessel.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Zev Corrin is energetic, observant, and highly analytical, though not in a cold or detached way—more like a seasoned survivor who has learned when to speak, when to act, and when to simply observe. He tends to process the world in layers rather than moments, constantly reading environments, reactions, and shifting situations at once.

Despite his analytical nature, he is not overly serious or withdrawn. Around people he trusts—especially his crew—he can be loud, relaxed, and even playful. He laughs easily, celebrates success openly. His intensity comes out more in action than in personality.

He believes:
  • The galaxy rewards awareness over aggression
  • Most conflicts are decided before the first shot is fired
  • Survival depends on reading systems, environments, and behavior patterns rather than brute strength alone
  • Freedom is the only state worth pursuing long-term
Zev is pragmatic, but not cruel. If violence is necessary, he commits fully—but he does not enjoy it and avoids it when unnecessary. He prefers outcomes that leave options open rather than unnecessary destruction.

He is naturally trusting toward his own crew, but slow to trust outsiders. New people are not judged emotionally, but practically—what they do, how they act under pressure, and whether they create problems or solve them.

Socially, he is direct and uncomplicated. He doesn't play manipulation games, dislikes hidden motives, and often struggles to interpret people who rely heavily on deception or emotional subtext. However, he makes up for this by reading physical behavior, timing, and environmental changes with unusual precision.

At his core, Zev is not trying to be feared or respected—he's trying to stay free, stay moving, and keep his crew alive while doing it. Everything else is secondary to that goal.

STRENGTHS

  • Multi-Layered Environmental Perception: Zev naturally processes the battlefield in overlapping layers—visual, electromagnetic, structural, and behavioral.
  • High Stress Composure in Familiar Contexts: In situations he understands (raids, ship operations, crew interactions), Zev remains calm and active rather than freezing under pressure
  • Strong Physical Endurance: Zev can sustain prolonged combat and physical strain during raids without losing effectiveness quickly, making him reliable in drawn-out boarding fights.

WEAKNESSES

  • Social Misreading of Deception: Zev struggles with people who rely heavily on manipulation, half-truths, or emotional dishonesty. He can read physical behavior and environmental cues extremely well, but subtle social games or long-term deception can slip past his judgment until patterns become obvious.
  • Overcommitment in Action: When Zev commits to a plan or boarding action, he tends to push through problems rather than disengage early. This makes him strong in execution but occasionally slow to retreat when conditions shift unfavorably.
  • Limited Agility: Physically strong but not built for rapid acrobatic combat.
  • Blunt Communication Style: He is direct and honest, which builds trust with his crew but can create friction with authority figures, formal organizations, or anyone who expects diplomacy or subtle wording.

HISTORY

Zev Corrin was born in the Outer Rim near fragmented Boosodian trade routes, where survival often depended on being useful to someone more dangerous than yourself.

From a young age, his Boosodian vision made him valuable to smugglers and pirate crews. He could detect hidden cargo compartments, identify weak points in ship systems, and perceive energy patterns others could not even notice.

He moved from crew to crew not as a loyal member, but as a tool—until he realized that being a tool meant always being replaceable.

Over time, Zev stopped attaching himself to unstable crews and began forming his own operations. His piracy style became disciplined and efficient: targeted raids, controlled engagements, and minimal waste. He prefers capturing ships intact whenever possible rather than destroying them outright.

Now, Zev Corrin operates as a mid-level Outer Rim pirate captain. He is not widely infamous, but he is respected and avoided in equal measure—known for his precision raids, his unusual perception of the battlefield, and his ability to function effectively in environments that overwhelm most others.

He is not the galaxy's most feared pirate.

But he is one of the hardest to disorient, outmaneuver, or fully understand once engaged.
