Private You're Lookin For The Other Guy

"Don't worry about it, trust me." He flashed a smile and shook his head. There was a lot he wanted to make up for. He blinked in surprise as he was given the vambrace, but didn't question it. He offered it to R6 to put in the computer before his gaze went back to Raya Krayt.

"I doubt it. What can I say though, I'm a sucker for golden locks and bright eyes." Once more with the award winning charm, though it was half hearted in comparison to normal. "But, really. It's like I said. You ever need help, don't hesitate to ask."

Raya raised an eyebrow and smiled, finally addressing the man's flirtatious demeanour. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you?" She asked. He was quite a contrast from what she was used to among her own people, many of whom weren't such sweet talkers. They were still good people all the same but this was a refreshing change of pace. "Yeah, well I'm a sucker for anyone who opposes the Sith." She replied.

"Thank you. I really do appreciate it. The same goes for you." She told him.

She ran her fingers through her hair to release it from the braid which was damp with sweat and sighed at the relief of finally being able to cool down. "I'm going to grab a drink. You want one?" She asked as she rose from the seat to grab a glass, or two, of water from the kitchen.

"I've my moments." Another flashed grin before he got more comfortable in his seat and sat back. His gaze drifted off to watch out the window as the ship took off from the docks. Good, they were attacked at least. That was one of his worries. Kahlil raised a brow as Raya Krayt spoke about a drink and watched her head off. Oh. Just water.

"I could use some water, yeah. Thanks."

Raya searched through the cupboards for glasses, thinking she should've probably asked for water instead of getting it herself, until she came across a bottle of whiskey which she pulled out and inspected. She placed it on the counter while continuing the search for the glasses which she found soon after.

With the glasses, and bottle in hands, she walked back over to Kahlil and handed him a glass. "This is better than water." She declared as she took off the lid and poured herself a glass and then offered one to Kahlil if he wanted. "Here's to a day's work." She toasted but upon realising it didn't apply to him, she offered an alternative toast. "Or here's to a day of putting up with me."

Kahlil raised a brow as he was given an empty glass. He was gonna ask about it, but it made sense soon as he looked up to see Raya Krayt holding the bottle. Whiskey, huh? He accepted a glass and lifted his cup with her.

"To putting up with you." He downed the drink in a single go, gasping and laughing as the burn kicked in. "Ah.. Good stuff. It's gonna be a bit till we get to the space station though." His grin returned as he sat up a bit more. "Lets play some more pazaak."

Raya laughed as they toasted and then took the drink in two large gulps before placing the glass on the edge of the holotable. "Alright, you're on. Are we betting for who washes the lunch plates?" She asked with an amused smile.

She spotted some cards and got up to retrieve them before taking her seat again and handing them to Kahlil to deal them while she poured them another drink each. Anyone would've thought they were a couple of friends enjoying a game and a drink and it felt like it but only they knew the origin of their peculiar relationship.

"I was thinkin something a bit more fun." His grin turned a bit coy as he summoned over the deck once more to start dealing out the cards for them both. "Looser looses an article of clothing." There was a wink as Kahlil got comfortable once more in his seat, lifting up his hand. He was testing limits now with Raya Krayt, seeing just how far this sudden friendship could go.

Raya narrowed her eyes a little in suspicion as he seemed to have a look akin to mischief on his face. She laughed at his proposition, feeling at more of an advantage given how much armour was still remaining. "Alright." She replied after a moment. "Let's play." She took her cards and then downed her second glass of liquid courage.

"Ach!" She exclaimed as she lost the first round before reaching down and removing one of her pieces of shin armour which she showed to Kahlil before jokingly throwing it over her shoulder and picking up her cards again for another round. It was the most relaxed she had been for a long time, with the pressures of leadership far removed from her mind.

The fact Raya Krayt was actually into this idea brought another, smaller grin to his features. He'd be lying if he said he expected her to agree. Maybe this wouldn't be the last time the two hung out together. He certainly hoped it wouldn't be. First hand, first win. His grin widened as he watched the armor get tossed. Though the grin didn't last.

Round after round he found himself loosing more and more of his own clothing until he sat there just in a pair of boxers and having lost completely. The Jedi laughed as he set down his cards, shaking his head. "Well, kark me. Guess you win this."

As the game progressed, Raya's smile grew more and more smug until at the end she was in hysterics at how badly Kahlil lost while she was still sitting in the majority of her armour below the waist. "It looks like it, doesn't it?" She replied once she finished laughing though a smug look was stuck on her face. She looked him up and down and moved closer before knocking on one of the pieces of armour on her thigh. "Now who says the Jedi don't need armour?" She joked before laughing at the situation again.

Now she wasn't at risk of losing her clothes in the game, she removed the remaining pieces of armour and placed them next to her. She was unsure where to look but Kahlil didn't exactly seem too self-conscious, especially after a proposition like that, so she allowed her eyes to wander momentarily before meeting his gaze again with an amused smile. "Bet this wasn't what you had in mind." She raised an eyebrow.

"I still probably could kick ass dressed like this, though it wouldn't be ideal." He had no issue relaxing where he was dressed as he was, as evident by his own smug expression. Sure, he lost, but it was a fun game. Sides, the fact she wasn't bothered either kept the grin on his face. "Nope, not at all. But it worked out I think." He was obviously fit, but it was a rather jagged scar on his chest that really stood out. Growing as a Sith hadn't been kind.

"What would ya like to do now? Unless you think you can handle one more round."

"If nothing else, you'll distract your opponents." Raya chuckled. He seemed pretty confident which made her wonder what the true extent of his hidden abilities were.

"You had to wait until I took the rest of the armour off to ask that, didn't you?" She rolled her eyes playfully. "Still, I feel like the stakes are higher for you so you're on." She took the cards and dealt them out again and after a quick round it seemed her luck had run out. "I still feel like I've come out on top here." She told him as she stood up to take her trousers off, wearing no less clothes than she had in the night, whereas he had nothing but underwear on.

The Mandalorian retook her seat and looked at Kahlil with a quizzical look before diverting her gaze to his chest. The evening had been full of laughter and drinks but now she took on a more pensive tone. "Kahlil... I was wondering..." She started, reaching her hand up to run her finger along his scar. "What gave you this?"

Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble

"Maybe that was my plan all along." His smirk never faded as the game went on. Now he was the one winning. Come back king for sure. Grant it, it ended with her in the same outfit she had on the night before. Though this time he didn't look away. Kahlil was in a pretty good mood with all of this. Up until she reached out and touched the scar on his chest.

The smile faded completely as he glanced down to it. "Growing up a Sith was.. Hard. I got this when I first killed someone. They tried to kill me."

Raya immediately pulled her finger away when he mentioned how he got the scar and regretted bringing it up, though at the same time it gave her an insight into who he used to be and how he had changed to become who he was now. "Oh..." She looked down and considered apologising for bringing it up but then thought perhaps she could make the best out of a bad situation.

"I'm sorry that happened to you but at least you can take comfort in knowing that you've moved on and are doing the right thing now, right? The Sith have brought a lot of pain to a lot of people but it shouldn't define us. In Mando'a we say all foundlings have a cin vhetin, a fresh start, which means their previous life no longer matters. I don't know what the Jedi believe about past mistakes but I believe that while perhaps not being blind to them, they should not be used to determine the character of someone. You shouldn't be ashamed of the past that you didn't choose and I don't think any less of you for it. If anything, I think more of you because of how far you've come." She paused in her rambling motivational speech of some sorts. "I hope you can find peace." She concluded.

There was an awkward silence as Kahlil listened to Raya Krayt explain her beliefs about the past. In truth, he really didn't want to talk about it. It was a reality he'd already faced to get as far as he had as a Jedi, but he still didn't like to talk about it. Even if she was right. He let out a sigh and looked away when she was finished, not responding yet. How could he respond? Was he supposed to?

"Thanks." That's the best he could think of to say. A sigh escaped him as he turned his gaze back to her and forced a smile. "I do appreciate it. Just, not a fan of talking about it anymore."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to dig up the past." She averted her gaze and turned it back onto the bottle of whiskey from which she poured herself another drink and sipped as she pulled her knees up to her chest, feeling bad for overstepping a boundary she hadn't realised was there. Truthfully, she was not the ideal person to handle such information. She had never experienced anything like he had, nor was she knowledgeable about the Jedi or Sith to know what he had been through or Force sensitive to know his true feelings but his body language told enough of the story.

"No, it's alright. I'm just not used to the whole feeling thing." His smile was replaced with a frown as Raya Krayt retreated back. Kahlil grabbed the bottle for himself, pouring another glass that he took down before standing up. "Alright. No more moping. C'mon. We're making lunch." He hated being in a down mood. Made him think about his past too much. The Jedi grinned wide as he offered a hand to Raya.

"And by we, I mean you. I wanna see how you cook."

Raya was suitably buzzed enough to bounce back when suggested and pulled her knees away from her chest and placed them back on the floor to get up and join him. She took his hand and returned his smile, soon joining him in the kitchen. "Don't you want to put some clothes on first?" She asked with a raised eyebrow and a chuckle. The idea of cooking semi-dressed with a Jedi she had known for about a day was comical to say the least but at a few drinks in she didn't particularly care.

"Me? I told you I can't cook. Not unless you want eggs or tiingilar for lunch." She told him as she turned her back to the countertop and pushed herself up onto it, content with watching him cook and hoping to get out of it.

Raya Krayt

He laughed a bit as he glanced to Raya Krayt and how she decided to just hop up on the counter and avoid cooking. He smiled a bit more then shifted over to her, standing right in front of her. He even went so far as to lean over and get more eye level. "You seem to want to avoid cooking for me. That worried I won't like it? Or something else?" It was definitely the booze that had him so brazen as to get this close to the Mandalorian, his grin taking a more playful tone.

Raya didn't shy away from his gaze and leaned forwards a little to meet him part way, sharing the same smile, but simply shrugged before leaning back again, giving no information away. The buzz from the drinks gave the pair more confidence to do what both had likely already considered and she had reason to believe she knew where they were headed but she was enjoying it too much to give in so easily.

"So what are you cooking for lunch?" She asked, casually.
