Your Character’s Ending

Delila Castillon

I killed off Dells after two plotlines fell through. Figured it was time since she was an NFU, my oldest character on the board, and IC it didn't make sense for an NFU her age to be on the battlefield.

Always knew I wanted to give my character deaths to another PC however. I think these are so rare its only fair that if I'm going to pull the trigger I might as well let someone else benefit and tell the story.

So Ashin Cardé Varanin Ashin Cardé Varanin killed me off in a fun manner. Highly recommend if one is already going to kill off a character to at least involve another writer so they can get some good bragging rights as well.

Agree. If any of my characters die, I will let it be a PC kill so someone gets to brag about it.

Pal was coming for Kinley in Prophet Motive. You lucked out that IRL got in the way! Pal still saved four mystics and got paid by TIC.

Psh Kinley doesn’t get lucky. The galaxy just knows better than to mess with her.

Sorry about IRL getting in the way though :( one of these days we need to actually get a chance to finish a thread together! Coz last time my RL got in the way too :(

I killed Yuroic off many years ago now. He had been my main character, the PC that I would write in any thread with and interact with everyone. Anyone else I wrote was a side character and was designed in that manner.

But over time, I started realising that Yuroic had been written for over a decade at that point, his Chaos arc was more like 2-3 years OOC iirc but he had lived a long life, experienced most of the things I wanted him to and then died a noble sacrifice.

I don't regret him dying, I regret more his arcs weren't as fleshed out as I wanted and that I didn't explore more with him but his ending felt natural.

As for other characters, when things seem to slow down, story arcs find a natural conclusion and I have nothing more to explore, then I will probably either retire them or let them die in battle.
