PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Yol Kan carries the traditions of honor from the Nagai people, believing in honorable combat and adherence to a deal made. He is pragmatic, but not without humor. He is prideful, but not openly so. He believes his actions will showcase his worth, and feels no need to brag about his skills. He is confident without being reckless. 'Good' and 'Evil' mean nothing to him, but he does not believe in the value of wanton cruelty.
STRENGTHS
Excellent pilot and footsoldier, with notable skill in marksmanship, unarmed combat, and swordsmanship, as well as evasive maneuvers.
Extensive training in the use of sensors to navigate hostile environments.
Learned to smith melee weapons as a rite of passage to adulthood, a skill common to Nagai.
Like all Nagai, he has exceptional reflexes.
Has an excellent singing voice on account of Nagai vocal range.
WEAKNESSES
Will not take what he considers to be 'unfair advantage' of a foe in combat.
While he does not mind stealthily approaching a foe, he will always announce his presence in the moment before striking.
Enemies might use his sense of honor to manipulate or trick him.
HISTORY
Born on the Nagai homeworld to Yin and Vina Kan, who were both professional duelists, fighting duels both in the stars and in the arena to settle matters between high Lords. Upon gaining adulthood, he signed on with a Privateering group operating near the Akkadese Maelstrom, hunting pirates and smugglers for bounty. He did this for twenty years, performing dogfights, boarding actions, and even tracking smugglers to their lairs and attacking them in their strongholds.
This experience with the Maelstrom led him to take a job at DDSI, whom he flew with for a year during their mapping of a region of perpetual ion storms known as the Bright Fury Expanse in Wild Space.
Upon completing his contract with DDSI, he took a job for the Empire of the Lost, attempting to navigate into a Sith Storm created by a Dark Side Superweapon mounted on the Mors Mons Super Star Destroyer. For this assignment, he was paid with a customized Skipray Blastboat.
Although the mission was unsuccessful, his skill was noted and he was offered a new position with the Imperial Auxilia, as a trusted mercenary in Imperial employ. He now serves there on a month-to-month rotating contract with the rank of Major, and is paid 50,000 credits per month to be available as needed for Imperial operations.
