Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The daily life of a jedi, a constant flow of training, lessons, lectures and in some cases operations but what did it usually do in the end? Not a lot she knew but they were able to make a difference in some of the people within the galaxy. So there was a whole lot of things they could do as Matsu was bringing her padawans. Both Satyana and Sorel with her for an adventure and mission. There were some rumors that terrorists were planning something in the city but well they didn't have much to go on and the world itself was nearly one massive city.

"We are coming in on Taris, the city sections of it are massive and cover a portion of the planet with many levels going down towards the surface of the planet. We'll be able to use the main enclave on the planet to search for any information we can as well as take in some of the culture and sites. The upper city as well as the lower city are something of an experience." Matsu was bringing the defender class ship in for a landing on the planet while making sure her padawans had they equipment satchels as well as their robes all ready.

Then she swung the ship around as in the night sky there was that small moment of seeing dawn coming over the buildings when they came down backing into the hanger of the small enclave on the planet. Matsu stood up brushing at her robes while she walked, her hair behind her ears in a thick ponytail taking a moment to work with them. She wrapped her hair to cover the earrings before taking her equipment pack and sabers. "Are you two ready to begin?" She offered a small smile to her two padawans and they were both skilled for this?"

This would not be the first time that Satyana would go on an adventure with her master, but this would be one of the bigger ones. To go and deal with probably one of the more dangerous criminals out there? Defiantly something Satyana can do to help prove to her master that she is indeed, her best padawan. The other Jedi would be melting in absolute swooning if she did this for the Republic and the order! She fixed up her Republic Armour as she begun to dust it off a bit and such. She figured she wouldn't need the Sasori armour considering the fact that these enemies were probably going to be much easier than she had anticipated. After all, these ARE a band of criminals, and not Sith or rouge Jedi.

Although Satyana was initially excited for the mission at first, her entire excitement faded away when she... came along. And who better not to reference than good 'ol [member="Sorel Crieff"], the other apprentice of Mastu Ike? She already grew a bitter feel in her tongue even thinking about her... even just looking at her face. She never felt more jealous in her life, and this jealousy... was namely the fact that she only saw her master, as just having her, not anyone else. Just. her. Mastu should be her only master, no one elses. And why? Because Satyana didn't felt anyone else was worthy for such a powerful Jedi Master! Screw that! Satyana knew her power would grow under Mastu and Mastu alone.

As Satyana emerged, she tried really hard not to give her a cold glare... and as such, Satyana lightened up her mood a bit and gave a nod at her and smiled. "I wish you luck on the mission." she said to her. "I am looking forward to working with you on this." Deep down, Satyana knew she didn't mean any of that. She really hoped that Sorel would atleast get injured, hell, killed during this mission... so then her master can belong to her only. But that other side of Satyana is just telling her to wait off on that... for somehow, she will need her later when she least expects it. Satyana placed her saber into her belt and approached her master. "I'm ready! Atleast me. Don't know about Crieffy over there." she said sarcastically, but gave a jestful smile towards her fellow peer.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel always did her homework. Taris was a ecumenopolis, meaning that all its landmasses were covered in a large city. However, unlike others, Taris had an ocean that covered a large part of the planet's surface. The ocean once possessed massive kelp farms.

The city itself boasted towers that were tall and gleaming, possessing a unique, universally-rounded appearance not found on other ecumenopolies. However, beneath the planet's initial pristine exterior lay the result of many years of lawlessness and oppression. In the Lower City, the largely non-human population lived in total poverty and desperation, prevented from entering the safer Upper City, which was almost exclusively inhabited by rich Humans. And following the bombardment of Taris at the hands of Revan's Sith Empire, the city was left in ruins. Much of the city would be rebuilt in the following centuries, many ruins remained.

Sorel had travelled with her Master on many explorations but she’d yet to undertake a mission with her. And Sorel understood another of Matsu’s Padawans would be going along too. Sorel had never had to sharer her Master in this way before, but it was a new experience and she would embrace it. Sorel did not have a monopoly on Master Ike and nor did she expect to have one. And other than a couple of Jedi, Sorel had few friends within the Silvers and so she saw this as an opportunity to widen her circle.

She stood ready and waiting in her traditional dark brown Jedi robes, her two sabers hanging from her belt. “Me too,” she said as her fellow Padawan spoke first. She noted a hint of animosity in her voice but ignored it. If there was an issue, she deferred to Matsu to deal with it.

Matsu watched the two of them and it was a strange thing while she was walking down the ramp. Observing more with the force the two of them while Satyana seemed to be almost vibrating with her looks at Sorel. She stayed there for a moment looking back at the two of them. "Satyana, Sorel the two of you will likely be working together in this and given the history of this world I want you both to be careful." She didn't know how to broach the subject of Satyana yet but she could think about it while motioning towards the view from the hanger of the enclave. They had worked on many of the things to recover and fix it up over a few of the buildings. The hanger looking out on a large garden that droids were attending to.

"There are dangerous things on the world but there is not a lot of information about where they will be attacking Security has been doubled in most of the important places but there are also places invaluable like the military base the Republic set up on the world when they were here. The mandalorian clans also set up a base on the planet before they left with strider leading the teams. Other groups have used it and it has sort of collected becoming a storage area of different governments in the galaxy." She brought her hands up to show a ball in her hands while she was moving it more to show how some of the places were just a hot mess of different things while she started walking.

"There is also something you might need." Matsu was looking at them for a moment before taking some things out. "These are your stipends, credits in case you need them for information and working with people. Also food if you haven't taken any of the meal packs for the belts. We are jedi and do not need credits but the galaxy does and it operates giving information for them. We can't just force and abuse our powers to gather information in these situations and you both have to be careful. Taris is very human centric and even humanoids can be treated badly if they figure it out." She wanted them to be safe while going over some of the things in her head. "Now lets go and have some fun."

Giving a light groan, she really was not keen about having Sorel around here, but if it's something that needs to be done, she would feel forced that she would have to oblige and work together with her. She then heard what they might do and such. She crossed her arms listening to her master and such... so apparently, there was a group attacking the security of this planet? Sounds like a bunch of troublemakers. She glanced at her giving her stipends and Credits. She took the items and said they don't need credits and don't abuse the force and such... Well, Satyana will go out of the way to interrogate a bastard if she wants information if she wanted to. She heard that Taris is very human-centric, so she would eventually be treated badly. She crossed her arms and huffed.

"They better not try to provoke me." she said to her master as she heard to "go have some fun"... Well that's a strange way to asses the situation. Yet again... it couldn't of been more proper... For her definition of "fun" could mean go and interrogate those fools. She nodded at her master as she looked at Sorel and observed her. She could be a useful ally in the future, but it doesn't mean she'll like her...

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel listened and only just suppressed the thought that flashed through her mind from manifesting itself across her features. She tended to be an open book a lot of the time and her Master’s instructions were certainly a surprise. Not good or bad necessarily, just unexpected. It seemed the two Padawans were to operate alone for some of the time — without their Master. Sorel buried her misgivings and looked to embrace the opportunity. Assuming she’d read the briefing accurately of course.

She followed her Master’s gaze, looking out into the enclave and the droids busy at work and then followed her down the ramp. Her attention was fully on her Master now, taking in every detail as if her life depended on it — which of course it might. She wrinkled her nose at the mention of Mandalorians. She had little trust in them since they attacked the Republic when there was supposed to be an alliance in place — not once but twice.

She took the credits and thanked her Master before placing them in the relevant pouch on her belt. She had ration packs in her small bag — as a regular space traveller it was fair to say she pretty much lived on them. Then she listened to her fellow Padawan. She tried but failed to not roll her eyes at the words. So she hastily looked at the ground and rubbed her lids with the back of her left hand. Maybe they would think a piece of grit had flown into her eye and she was merely getting rid of it.

“I’m sure we’ll manage fine, Master,” she said. “We’re Jedi and as long as we follow the Code and its teachings, we should do well. And for the times it isn’t enough, we may have to remind people we’re Jedi.” She gave her fellow Padawan a small smile. Being a Jedi meant protecting the weak and being a peace-keeper was not the same as being a pacifist.

Matsu looked at the two of them and bowed her head walking, out into the upper city pathway as it led to the rest of the city. Larger building with likely hundreds of levels going down into the lower levels of the city. Matsu walked along the pathway as some of the human's stopped to look at them, not many other beings of interest just yet but she could see some of the apartments and buildings turning back to look at them. "We'll start in the easier places, the cantina's in the upper city could be an invaluable source of information." Matsu kept walking with her hands clasped behind her back while some probe droids were going around and she spoke staying in a small bubble for herself and her padawan to be able to hear each other. "Do either of you feel anything? This is as much a mission to protect lives as it is to expand and test your abilities." She continued forward while some of the airspeeders were flying overhead to go to the different meeting places. "Use the force, we have several locations on this world that can be targets. The swoop track is opening, the bases, governments offices, there is a reserve for the outer rim here as well as just a dozen or so public places to make a statement."

Hmph... "follow the code" she says. Look at her babbling about the code... That damned Sorel always had something to say didn't she? Trying to impress her master. She'll show her...

"Yes. Upholding the code is quite important. Especially if you blantenly tell everyone out here that we're Jedi. Pretty wise move, especially those who think the Jedi are nothing more than flies for swatting." she replied to Sorel sarcastically turning away. She listened to her master and looked around the city a bit. She listened to her master's words about trying to feel anything. Satyana stopped and glanced around for any possible suspects. The people around here seem normal, talking away with their every day things. Of course, she did saw a few people glaring at her, considering the fact that her pale skin and white hair and red eyes were just not normal with these... peachy, brownish, tannish humans. She didn't gave them hard glares but pleasant nods as she didn't wanted to cause a commotion. After all, if being in business taught her anything, it's to always respect others, even if they were mean. Yes, even in this case, even though she truly didn't liked her, she still had to be on her side.

It was then Satyana felt something strange. It was off from what she was normally sensing. She glared off towards someone who was pretty shady looking and glared. She glared at the person who suspiciously had robes on flying off on his air speeder.

"I think we got our guy." She quickly begun to sprint away going after the speeder. She quickly got onto a speeder that was not in use and begun to pursue after him. She was not going to let him get away, and if anything, she was going to get him down and interrogate him. She knows that this will make her master appeased and happy to know that Satyana has finally completed something for her. She quickly started the speeder and zoomed off after him. Her adrenaline built up as she was feeling the need to get to her needed objective.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
The city was busy. Like many of its type, the buildings weren’t just sprawling horizontally, they stretched for hundreds of levels vertically too. Sorel had no preference for planets she visited. Cities, deserts, snow-covered mountains, forests, ancient ruins? It was invariably the people that made a plant welcoming or not and so she reserved any judgement until she met more of the locals.

She overlooked Tatyana’s words. Maybe it was something Sorel had done, or maybe she was like this with everyone. Regardless, she had a mission to perform and she wouldn’t let anything undermine that.

She followed her Master, understanding that the three of them would provide an obvious point of interest, in even the busiest of cities. Even with plain robes on and sabers hidden, there was something about the demeanour and gait of a Jedi that gave them away. So she neither looked at the ground, nor stared the passers-by out, but instead simply observed their surroundings as any newcomer would. All the while she listened to her Master’s words.

She stretched out her senses through the Force. Like so many heavily populated areas, she received too much feed-back — emotions mostly. She looked to latch on to any that suggested something that should be followed up. She was not a natural Empath, but she was learning through diligent application.

Matsu observed the two of them as both seemed to have their own ideas and ways to go about it. It was in stark contrast though to the nature others did of finding what they were looking for right away. Then there was a speeder and Satyana moving off as matsu motioned to Sorel to quickly follow taking a small moment once near the vacant speeder to get into the driver seat and her hand sparked to the console. Activating it without the controls being unlocked when she spoke to the man. "Jedi business, we'll return it safely." She watched the man but he said nothing as the jedi master waited for the two of them to get into the speeder before raising it up and speaking.

"Satyana keep your eyes on them, Sorel look for any others." The small trio could do that and it would let matsu work with many of the things before she pulled the speeder out getting it into the lane at high speeds to catch up while her hair was moving in the wind, eyes focused on avoiding the other speeders to catch up and gain on it. She didn't know how they might disable it but that could be solved once they caught it and add to the adventure. "Do either of you suppose they will just surrender?" She said it more like a mock question not expecting it but they could get lucky... eventually there had to be a chance for it to happen. Matsu moved quickly with the speeder weaving between them.

Igniting her light saber, she begun to get closer to the man she was persuing. It was then that she noticed that he was beginning to fire his blaster towards her, attempting to hit her speeder. Though it landed a hit on its leg, it only motivated the Stakeral to continue her persuit of him. There was no way she was going to allow him to get away. Concentrating her energies, she searched for a target on his speeder to throw her saber at. As she was concentrating, her target shot at her once again. She growled as she begun to rush her strategy and begun to throw her saber at his speeder with a sloppy shot, though hopefully it will do.

As she did, her persuer dodged the saber throw and went even faster as he attempted to throw out two bombs at her. Satyana quickly drove up her speeder as she heard them explode, leaving a track of where he was going. She was now certain he's the one they're looking for. She once again threw her saber towards his speeder, this time using her masters training to manipulate the saber with her mind to land a blow on his speeder. Hearing a hit sound from her saber, she knew she hit it. It was then he begun to jump off his speeder. Satyana quickly stopped and landed her speeder, as she saw him running off into the alleyway. Satyana pursued him with a saber in her hand. She was well ahead of her master and fellow padawan, not stopping nor caring for them, as she had to interrogate this fool she found for information. A rush of anger begun to come into her mind, beginning to slowly cloud her head with it as she chased him with her ignited saber.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel kept close to Matsu, waiting to follow instruction and — as ever — deferring to her more experienced and knowledgeable Master, as opposed to acting on impulse. She had learned patience and humility under her Master’s tutelage and the entirely impulsive and arrogant Padawan had come a long way since those were the adjectives that best described her.

She nodded in tandem with her Master as they commandeered the speeder and jumped into one of the passenger seats. As directed, she kept her eyes and senses alert for anyone that deserved their attention as her Master controlled the speeder.

She saw and sensed nothing out of the ordinary and no sooner had they started their pursuit than she was aware her Master had landed the speeder and so she focused on the action unfolding in front of her.

Satyana was now on foot and chasing the fugitive down an alleyway. Sorel hastened to where they were heading and wondered what she’d find as she rounded the corner and stared down the alley.

Matsu brought the speeder down as Sorel and Satyana was off into the movements and area. She let her eyes rove over while expanding her senses out as she focused. The air in her lungs remaining for a moment and then it was gone when she was across and moving with speeder to give chase through the building. She was moving at a gliding pace as there were more sounds, detonation across the upper city while some of the buildings that were towering up were falling down and she extended her arms out towards the other two. Sorel and Satyana to protect them while she saw some sections of building falling over in front of them cracking the walkway and going down towards the lower city. The jedi master watching as more of them were running around in some of the broken buildings and matsu pointed for them to work as more explosions were going over across the city with a ringing in her ears before she dashed forward to grab another civilian getting them out of the way while there were some more sounds. She had thought they were going after a specific target but well that might mean protection or jedi but if you detonated buildings to crash into the places and across the city it was a whole lot of destruction, terror and problems for everything to a maximum level. Matsu grabbed at some of the others who were falling when she pulled them up and the walkway in parts were falling down where it was weaker. She jumped up when a piece of building touched down sliding across the upper walkway so she could surf on it for a moment to repulse outwards and clear the area to protect some of the people.

The saber clashed against blaster bolts that came to her saber. Satyana was defiantly on a hard chase against the suspect. She swung her saber and lifted it and swung it. She kept running after him as he turned around into a corner throwing another set of bombs. She jumped swiftly as she heard them explode behind her and felt the ground shake. She didn't had time to force grab for the others, so she used it to get the objects that were coming down on her. She begun to go even faster as he picked up the speed. She felt the fear coming from him as she sensed his emotions. She quickly begun to get him down in a dead end where she had her saber out and with fury, came close to him with a face full of fury and anger. She gritted her teeth as she begun to hold out her hand and begun to choke him, but not enough to kill him. More or less to torture him.

"Where. are they?" she angrily asked with a quiet tone as she came closer to him with her hand choking him harder. She was not going to let him go until he gives her answers! She does not care how dark this is. Interrogation is interrogation.

No sooner had she reached the corner of the alley than she first heard and the felt the explosions. The fleeing perpetrator was the least of her worries as she was aware that buildings were falling down around them and pedestrians were at risk.

Sorel worked as quickly as she could and helped as many as she was able to. A Force Shield here and a Force Push there. A Force Pull to snatch a toddler from under a falling wall and then she was handing the child to grateful parents.

In truth the challenge was beyond her meagre powers, but she did what she could and kept as close to her Master as she could — not wishing to be split up.

Matsu was moving with Sorel across the walkways of the upper city as she was following Satyana in her senses. To keep the padawan on the edge of her force senses while the padawan chased a man who was possibly in the group that was planting bombs.... Problem was chasing a man to find out where the bombs were when they were going off across the entire city as more explosions were rocking across the upper city. She was working with Sorel here to protect and move the people as she gave attention to the smaller detail with the force reaching outwards to tell and call for Satyana to come and join them before she was moving with a lot of her attention.

"Sorel careful." She moved letting some of her force powers move the section of city when another building was falling down towards them and the upper platforms. She motioned to Sorel leaping and focusing the force energies into a distorted step they could run on away from the collapsing building when it was going past them. The jedi master moved to another part of the walkway letting herself hover with Sorel there as she was watching and there were more things happening all around them. Matsu tossed some of her beacons to mark locations for the enclave before she was turning with some of her thoughts towards following the plan.

"We need to figure out where they went or came from." She couldn't with everything happening search it out with the force. her energies instead looking towards where sections of the buildings were as she was shifting her senses to find it. The spectrum where she could see the bombs having went off along the edge. An ion trail going further in while she was tracking it and pointing it for Sorel when she started flying with one hand for Sorel and one hand to grab Satyana so they coudl fly following after the ion trail of the speeder that was going through the upper cities buildings. She weaved through the alley to go and find her padawan while she spoke. "Satyana grab on and come with me."

"I'm telling you that I-" Satyana choked him harder as she got closer to him with her saber pointed at his neck growling. "You better tell me..." She said glaring at him. It was then she heard her master coming down for her and try to pick her up. She glanced up at her master then back down at the man she was busy choking. "You are lucky I am not going to kill you today..." She said glaring at him and slowly back away and sheathed her saber. She grasped her masters hand and got on with her for she has a bigger fish to fry. She shook her head and growled softly and breathed to mellow herself. The terrorist glared up and watched them go. "We'll meet again, Jedi..." he said as he begun to report what happened and such.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
The devastation was sufficient that most bystanders chose not to put themselves in undue danger by venturing into areas that were being blown up or falling down. So her need to save pedestrians diminished as time went on.

Within minutes the area was clear of people and Sorel focused on following her Master’s lead and no doubt heading to where Satyana was. She was as careful as her Master suggested and moved along the walkways with full attention on her footing and falling debris. She was soon at her Master’s shoulder and was able to listen to her as she spoke.

Taking the hint, she grabbed on to her Master and waited for her fellow Padawan to follow suit so they could continue the pursuit.

Feeling the force as Matsu grabbed Satyana and gave her a frown on her face as she looked and listened to the man, things were happening and she would have to address it with some of the information. She was tracking the ion trail through the city and ducking where sections had fallen over with the sounds throughout the city of destruction. They were attacking a lot of it and this was a larger network then she had thought or the jedi were thinking about, more detail going when they came to a massive building and she could see armed guards on the roof of it with turrets. Matsu baked to the side with the two of them before she dropped the two padawans off and her sabers came to her hands with the twin snap hisses. The pale purple blade and the pale blue blade deflecting a shot back before the Jedi master herself was moving with purpose around one of the turrets and slashing it while it fell down into slices of metal. Another guard taking a boot to his face with grenades being tossed that Matsu motioned for her padawans to see when she pushed them back like a hot potato.

Satyana growled softly as she failed to interrogate that fool. She glared at her master. "Master, why did you do that? I was trying to get him to give us the answers we seek." She said glaring and sighing as she closed her eyes. She was pretty close to getting him the answers they were seeking... If only she could just... She softly growled to herself and closed her eyes. "Now we will have no idea who is responsible." She swears... If she sees him again, she will choke him, and continue to until he gives the answers. It was then she saw the armed guards firing at them and begun to use the force to force grab one of them and ignited her saber to kill one of them and pushed him off. She then force pushed a few others firing at them.
