  • Must not be fired at point-blank range (ca. 7m or less)
DESCRIPTION
Janick knew that, just because one had an anti-ysalamir poison in ygmicite, it was not the end of the story. She decided to combine the ygmicite, which can put organics to sleep, with ion bomb filling, which can disable electronics, to create a stun grenade that can kill ysalamiri before support elements, Force-using or not, can move in for the kill. However, weaponizing the ygmicite in this manner would also mean that it is going to be indiscriminate, and the grenade was designed to be compatible with existing 40mm grenade launchers, and also to be fired in hand-held modes, with the grenade's blast radius being five meters, with the most devastating effects within 2m of the detonation point. In addition, once the grenade is fire, it's gone for good: it's a single action weapon. Because of the blast radius, there is a minimum range, lest the person or weapon firing it risk being disabled: for this reason it is not recommended to fire a ygmicite grenade at less than 7m, and since the grenade is unguided, one needs to have an idea of where the target is or where the target will be, depending on the target's mobility.
