DESCRIPTION
With the ever-expanding reach of the New Imperial Order, the need for easily produced, versatile, and disposable starships remained at the forefront of Kuat Entralla's production queues, but so too did the production requests from several Imperial agencies containing the desire for vessels of more obscure roles and classifications. Looking to the past, Gat Tambor was able to consolidate many production requests from a range linking the desire for luxury shuttlecraft from Imperial Moffs to covert operations crafts by the ISB and inquisition vessels of the Imperial Knights.

The 'X-70B Phantom' was a relic of a ship, unearthed along with the schematics of several other Sith Imperial vessels following the New Imperial assault on Bastion. Unlike the religious texts of the Sith, which were all but completely destroyed, technical blueprints, schematics, and plans were seized by the Imperial government. With Kuat Entralla's Zeta level clearance of military technology, Gat Tambor was able to have access to the relevant archives in Ravelin and plucked the Phantom as the particular inspiration for the specialized craft for the Empire. It was a splendid foundation in many ways. Though only made in the numbers of perhaps just over a handful for Sith Imperial Intelligence, it was clearly a versatile vessel with an immensely successful track record and an array of utility that served as a solid baseline for the special project, barring a few modernization updates. The first chassis and prototype were drafted and constructed on Entralla proper, the process being overseen by a handpicked project team of both Skakoan and Kuat Entralla Engineers with Gat often exposing the Kuat Entralla production and engineering personnel to both KDY, Technoid, and greater Trade Federation methodology in order to expand their manufacturing potential and overall improve the quality of its end product.

The first prototype was seen as a success, being what Tambor assessed to be about 90% of what was needed in the complete product. The issue came in simulation tests run in outright pursuit. The original Phantom was designed to be a jack-of-all-trades in many ways, packing a great deal of firepower, speed, and resilience. Gat wanted to push it into a specialization that meant the vessel was more adept at evasion and stealth operations. Thus, several armaments were removed. A large central power cell was replaced with several smaller power cells, allowing for ease of transfer between shield, weapon, and propulsion systems and providing redundancy in the case of power cell failure. The nature of the Revenant's more advanced cloaking systems meant there would in fact be a hard cap as to what the ship could output in a combat situation, being comparable to a heavy fighter craft in payload, it wasn't a convenient change but given Gat's assumption that the more robust stealth system would see greater use in operations that required subtly, escape, reconnaissance and evasion- he opted to sacrifice strength for agility and eventually submitted the XK-70 Revenant to the Committee of Improvements where it was then purchased on a 'Made-to-Order' production contract with an initial purchase of twenty completed by 869ABY by the New Imperial Order. Meaning, if The Empire needed one, Kuat Entralla would make it. This meant the Trade Federation didn't have to allocate resources and manpower to protecting storage facilities of the classified vessels and that The Empire didn't have a stock of expensive and secretive ships rotting away in hangar bays until they were assigned pilots and owners.
