- Mount Hardpoints: The XG7 has hardpoints on the side of and underneath the barrel that allow it to be mounted to a vehicle or structure. While mounted, the XG7 can either use its standard magazine or be fed ammunition directly from the mount.
- Brrrrrt: Boasting a large magazine and a tremendous rate of fire, the XG7 is great for clearing large groups of enemies.
- Nutcracker: The XG7 fires powerful 8.5mm bullets that can tear through flesh, infantry-grade armor, thin walls, and even the sides of light armored vehicles with ease.
- BIG Gun: The XG7 is a very large and heavy weapon, restricting its use to specialist units or physically gifted species.
- Unwieldy: As a result of its large size and weight, the XG7 is an unwieldy and cumbersome weapon at close range.
Designed as a middle ground between battle rifles and turret-mounted machine guns, the XG7 is one of the largest and heaviest weapons provided to First Order infantry units. Much of the gun’s weight comes from its bulky magazine, equipped with two hundred indigenously developed 8.3x68mm bullets at full capacity. A single armor-piercing bullet can pierce 20mm of solid durasteel, and even the standard APHE bullet can turn a heavily armored soldier into a pile of burnt flesh and twisted metal in a quick burst of automatic fire.
The XG7 excels at suppressive fire, where its high fire rate and powerful bullets can take care of swarming foes with extreme prejudice. While primarily meant as an anti-infantry weapon, its armor-piercing rounds can threaten even lighter vehicles if fired at their flanks or weak points.
