Description:
When your in a fight, you play to your strengths. For Zenva Vrotoa, one of her greatest strengths comes in the form of a Wookie, her honor brother Foebacca. A brute on the ground and a nightmare at the controls of a Fighter. For more then ten years the pair have fought side by side on dozens of worlds. And if one thing has remained true through the years it's this; give Foehammer a mean weapon and watch the bodies pile up.
This was the inspiration behind the "Blood Dart." A weapon worthy of her clansman, the X-HKI is a solid balance of speed, fire power and protection. As the fighter was drawn and designed Zenva continued to look back at her brother for inspiration and feedback. Her intended pilot dictated several design choices.
First up was the demand for speed. The answer started with the long, low profile fuselage and the Clan Heart Reactor to power the Interceptor. This was followed by simplifying and eliminating systems that were considered unnecessary. First Zenva eliminated self-loading missile tubes, instead individual Nano missiles were set on racks inside the cross section of the wings. A staple for taking down enemy fighters.
From there the test pilot was re-examined. It was decided the life support system was to be removed. Each ship would be given a vacuum sealed flight suit and a two hour supply of air. To further cut down the weight, the hyper drive and landing gear were removed. This of course means the Interceptor must dock with a carrier vessel for repairs and even transport. A willing sacrifice considering the purpose of an Interceptor is to fly escort and protection for capital ships.
Finally two lazer cannons were replaced with rotary blaster cannons. While weaker and less accurate than a lazer cannon, the impressive fire rate often makes up for the difference. In the final moments of a dogfight, when your enemy is directly in front of you, the rapid stream of blaster bolts will chew an enemy fighter to pieces.
