Wue'gi Vod Connections (ME Wue'gi Vode Only)

The Siege of Hela continued on its' second day.

Pirates had attempted once again to take the planet, less than a single system from Manda'yaim. Mand'alor the Infernal, her Yalilyr and members of the united Clans worked to purge the planet from the scourges, rooting out settlement by settlement.

Taking a small break in the Command Tent, Yasha plunked down in her throne, a gift from the Yalilyr for her use in the Tent, and took a canteen of water to her lips.

"Call the Wue'gi Vode."

The image of Yasha Mantis, perilously placed in armour without helm and towering in her chosen seat flooded the holocomms of all, who existed on the Mandalorian Council of governance. Word had reached of Clan Skirata's change in MandalMotors' leadership, and it was time to address it.

All who were present in the Imperial City of Sundari could use the throne room, the round table set with holoemitters for those who weren't on Mandalore.

Shia looked up from her look at the bleep of her secure holo-comm unit.

She glanced at the chrono, huh. It must be important. She stood and walked over to the unit and set it on the beside stand before triggering the pickup.

"This is Kryze, online. What's the urgent news?" She glanced at the secure unit to check the routing wasn't passing through old Alliance nodes in the network, tracing the call to where the Huntress was right now would be... a problem. Thankfully, the CSA was just about holding together and their nodes were friendly.

For once, Keira wasn't on a job or out on business for the sake of her people's Empire. No, she was at the (still rebuilding) Verd homestead on Ashrah, a thankfully rather secluded and uninhabited planet within Mandalorian space. This was one of her first times at the place she could call home, and it allowed her to breathe marginally easier as a consequence. It wasn't to its full potential yet, but they were getting there, slowly but surely. It was where clan could be together - all three of them - even if just she and her sister were home presently. Alkor was, as was commonplace, out on a job.

They needed to spend time together as a clan, and she would have to talk to him about that. There was a lot of catching up to do, any of them could see that.

When the call came through, she was sitting at what amounted to her room thus far, seated at her desk. A bottle of liquor was placed within reach, open and already partially empty, and she was skimming over progress reports on the rebuilding and reallocating process that took up the majority of her free time. Almost without thought she reached over to answer her holo-comm, closing the report just as her image materialized to the rest of those that had answered. "This is Verd."

Cassiopeia sat down in her office with a warm cup of tea. After taking a small sip, she set it down as she began to mess on the computer that sat on the desk in front of her. Research was on her to do list today - specifically, with a certain genetic sample from a species named Karkarodon from a tooth that Cynthia had provided her a little while ago.

It was then that her comm systems went off. It came from Yasha with a message about the Council. She answered through the secured comm systems of the Universities underground research facility. It was probably more secure than her own personal comms, anyway.

"This is Cassiopeia. What's up?"

Alkor stood camped near the Comms area of the Kalam as it nestled just outside of the Mandalore sector in open space. There was a pressing reason for work to call him away, and an even more dire reason he employed the new stealth ship afforded to his command by MandalMotors, but knowledge of the operation was very much blacked out. [member="Yasha Mantis"] may have been the only one aware of the information collection that the man had been tasked with.

Still, she called the council to session, and he had to answer. He waited for a moment as the translucent blue light transmitted his image to the others, arms folded. When he appeared, he did so in the wake of most of the others. [member="Keira Verd"], [member="Cassiopeia Australis"], and [member="Shia Kryze"] were already in attendance.

"Reporting," he intoned dutifully from behind his buy'ce. "Still no word on what we discussed, Mand'alor."

It wasn't really about that, but he needed to let Yasha know without really saying anything that he was still, very much doing the job she asked him to.

“The others can be briefed as they enter. The time has come to bite, vode.” The Infernal toned, as [member="Keira Verd"] [member="Shia Kryze"] and [member="Cassiopeia Australis"]’ images veered into the holoemitted image projected on the table in her command tent.

“Word from the Republic Remnant. They’re moving their military operation to Carida, which I need not tell you, is close enough to our borders for Adara to hit it with a stone.”

Alkor appeared, helm in place as Yasha expected. He was on most important business, of which Yasha knew to trust him only. The Infernal wolf tilted her head at [member="Alkor Centaris"], letting his sly words coat her calm. “Continue upon your course, Centaris.”

"Hmmmm. To quote the esteemed Warmaster: War! And probably not with us. I can't imagine the First Order or the Sith Empire taking that lying down."

Shia settled down properly in front of the holocomm unit.

"Do you have a stance on them? I only really know one person who might in theory be affiliated with them, and a drunk old Jedi isn't what you'd call... reliable."

"Do they need to be reminded of their history?" Keira leaned forward in her chair, resting her forearms on the desk. It was no secret how she felt about the Republic; she made no habit of keeping her opinions secret from her vode. "We broke them once, we can again. I burned the temple of their jetiise personally. We have nothing to fear from them." She nudged the bottle a bit further out of view, knowing full well that if word got back to Ginnie - or, gods forbid, Asha - she wouldn't be hearing the end of it for weeks, if not a month or more.

Despite her seeming desire for conflict, she had no real want for an all-out war if it was able to be avoided. There were other, more important things to worry about. "So we arrive in force and give them their first and only warning. If they take one step off Carida in any direction, they burn." She spoke plainly, because to her it really was that simple. "I'm not fond of giving them much leeway, considering our people's history with them and my personal experience.

"They get their warning, and nothing more."

She listened carefully but she had already read the reports. The RR would be changing their headquarters, much too close to comfort. While trade had helped the two nations out, it wasn't a huge help. Cassiopeia was clearly agitated at the fact.

"I like the Republic, I do. I feel like they have potential as a great economic partner but this is the wrong move. There are rumors of voter suppression and voter fraud for their vote to relocate. This cannot effect our expansion plans, period." She grinned at [member="Keira Verd"]'s opinion. She loved hearing the womans opinion.

"I'm inclined to agree with Keira. We need to lay out where our territory begins and that they cannot cross those lines. If they violate that, then we can begin heavy economic sanctions, such as heavy trade tariffs, blockades, raids on economic ships and so forth. I imagine their economy will be weak from a move like that, anyway. Especially with the Core worlds being in shambles..." She nibbled her lip as she thought. She sighed, "Worst comes to worst. Also, we have to remember there are several movements occurring in the core worlds. A lot of them no longer want a foreign power ruling over them, such as the famed Coruscanti First movement. I recommend we reach out to these governments if they decide to agitate our borders."

"I don't want them any close to our borders. We have enough to worry about with the Jedi nibbling at our borders."

The Infernal nodded her wolf-helm to [member="Kaine Australis"]’ report. Their armaments were expanding and now all they needed were capable hands. It was times like this, when Yasha missed her father Preliat and uncle Silas. They would know how to bite.

They always did bite hard. It was no comfort to know Preliat and Silas wanted to bite her neck to ribbons.

“Our choice is complicated by our agreement with the Sith. Right now, we are shielded from the Sith’s onslaughts by our Non-Aggression Pact. Carnifex continues to push for a further alliance. We cannot have abysmal relations with all neighbours, or the progress we’ve made will be for naught. All relations we currently have are capricious and built upon fear of our potency and aggression.

I am dissatisfied with the Silvers, the Republic and the Sith all swarming our borders. Yet, do we risk throwing the Republic Remnant into the arms of the Silver Jetise? They are close enough to combine borders with one more push. Economic sanctions can work, and I know we will be ready for whichever battle comes, we get to choose which opponent is worth the most of our time… and which battle to prepare for the most.”

It was a question Keira considered for a longer period, understanding where [member="Yasha Mantis"] while not allowing her personal opinions on the aforementioned governments to get in the way - or at least, not as much. "There's nothing the dar'jetii can provide us that we don't have or can't take ourselves. We keep them at an arm's length just like we do everyone else. No one gets any special treatment, or we send the wrong message." Neutrality was a policy she had supported since day one, and a distinct lack of it was why she'd challenged for the title ages ago in the first place. That the people were now focusing their attention inwards was a blessing they'd long been in need of.

The document sent by Australis was skimmed through with scrutiny, as she would read through it in-depth when she had the time. "Clones." She took a heavy breath, chewing the inside of her cheek. This was a topic dear to her heart, as she had personal experience regarding that matter. "I commanded a clone army once. They weren't treated any better than cannon fodder." She let that single statement hang in the open, uncontested, for just a few seconds. "Not that I don't trust our people more, and know that they'll be welcomed just as any other Mandalorian. Be granted the same kindness I gave the men and women under my command." A pause again, as she became caught up in memories of a different time, with far different loyalties.

Glancing up from the pages, she looked first to the Sole Ruler, then the Warmaster. "How long has this been in place? What's the endgame here?"
