SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Blinded by the Light: an upgraded version of the Divine Light, the Gungnir cannons are designed to warn off even sith battleships with their Force Light imbuements
  • Ashla's Glow: The activation of this weapon, as a result of the massive imbuement, Spreads a glow of the Light Side across the nearby battlefield, emboldening nearby ship crews.
STRENGTHS
  • Mini-Superlaser: Designed off the back of the blueprints for other, much larger laser weapons. The Gungnir system was designed to be an anti-captial ship laser for the Rebel Battlecruiser Liberation, an upgrade to it's twin Divine Light Cannons. Designed to quickly eat through shields, and tear through even the most massive of ships, it acts as the pinnacle of starship weaponry available to the Rebellion.
  • Continuous Beam: Designed to lock onto a target, then blast them with a super-heavy beam, the Gungnir is designed to be exactly the sledgehammer the rebel Battlecruiser needs to take down similarly sized ships.
  • Ashla's Judgement: The Gungir was the result of extensive testing by Si Tech, as well as Jonyna's own experimentation. Imbued with the Force, the ion cannon's massive output is supplemented by The Power of the Light Side, designed to bath Sith ships in incredibly powerful beams of Force Light, as a way to weaken Dark Side Alchemical metals, and damage dark siders within.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sheer Scale: The Gungnir is, by all accounts, a massive hulk that one would rather build the ship around, rather than mount to a ship. Designed for the Liberation, the gun is designed to be mounted to the spine of the ship. As such, it's sheer recoil is only survivable due to it's mounting. Aiming this beast is a matter of aiming the ship itself.
  • Power Chugger: While the gun is massively powerful, due to it's sheer size, it's only capable of being fired for a few seconds at a time.
  • Not So Super-laser: While one might mistake the Gungnir for being capable of total destruction, the laser is not capable of planetary destruction.
  • Nullification: While leaving it a still wildly powerful cannon, things able to nullify the Force will prevent the weapon from using it's full potential.
DESCRIPTION

After a reappraisal of the Liberation's armaments, the Gungir was developed. A supermassive force-imbued laser cannon, designed to level the playing field for the rebellion against the Imperial Confederation's reliance on Star Destroyers. A laser designed to punch through other enemy capital ship shields, and capable of ripping straight through smaller SD sized ships, the Gungnir is the rebellion's ace in the hole for dealing with other battlecruiser sized ships.
