STRENGTHS

• Forward Guns: The Solo class was designed off Pirate tactics learned from within the Wild Space Rebellion, it's guns aimed forward to allow it to direct all of it's fire forward, presenting a smaller target for enemy fire, while maximizing it's output.
• Triple-layered Shields: While the armor of the Solo Class is strangely minimal, it's shields are designed to be redundant, rather than a single layer built to withstand bombardment, it's three layers designed to fall one after the other.
• Rear Salon Escape Pod: Modeled after the Consular Class Corvettes, the Solo class has a rear, ejectable salon pod that can be fired at great speed out of the back of the ship, with an installed hyperdrive that allows those inside to escape the battlefield quickly.

WEAKNESSES

• Forward Hanger: Due to the nature of the craft, the forward hanger can be a detriment to the crews of it's squadrons. Designed to launch upon arrival rather than mid-combat, the hanger is often the part that takes the brunt of first contact, and often the first part to go boom when the shields fail.
• Explosive Engines: The modified engines create a weak point in the design should the shields be breached. The engines have a tendency to explode rather than be shut off if damaged.

DESCRIPTION
The Wild Space Rebellion, much like the Rebel Alliance of the past, relies heavily on hit and run, near piratical tactics. Si Tech, as a result, invested in creating a new ship that would act as a speartip for it's assault fleets. The Solo Class was designed as a massive gunship, a pocket Star Destroyer designed to enter engagements with massive firepower, then escape once damage was done.

While the Imperials rely on massive star destroyers, the backbone of the Rebel Fleet are smaller ships that can be produced en masse.

Han Solo would be proud.
