Archon-Prime of the Quasesitorum

The Quasesitorum

The Quasesitorum emerged not as a reactionary cult, but as a calculated correction—a deliberate answer to centuries of cyclical collapse brought on by the ideological extremism of both Jedi and Sith traditions. Where others saw the Force as something to worship, obey, or dominate, the Quasesitorum came to regard it as something far more dangerous: a naturally occurring phenomenon that, when filtered through belief, becomes a weapon of mass instability.

Doctrine of the Measured Force

At the heart of the Quasesitorum lies a principle they call the Measured Force. They reject the dichotomy of Light versus Dark as a false binary—an oversimplification perpetuated by generations of Force traditions seeking moral superiority. To the Quasesitorum, emotions are neither to be suppressed nor indulged, but regulated. Passion is a tool. Compassion is a tool. Fear is a tool. All are permissible—none are sovereign.

Their teachings emphasize:
  • Emotional governance over suppression or surrender
  • Force application without philosophical bias
  • Outcome-based morality rather than intent-based morality

A Quasesitorum operative does not ask if an action is "right" or "wrong" in the traditional sense, but whether it contributes to galactic stability.

The Edictum Ferreum

The Order's ultimate objective is encapsulated in what they refer to as the Edictum Ferreum: the imposition of absolute, enduring order across the galaxy. Democracy, religious autonomy, and decentralized power structures are viewed as inherently unstable. In their place, the Quasesitorum seeks to establish a controlled system—one guided by those capable of perceiving and manipulating the Force without being ruled by it.

To outsiders, this appears tyrannical. To the Quasesitorum, it is mercy.

They believe:
"Freedom, untempered by order, is the seed of extinction."

Relationship with the Force

Unlike Jedi who seek harmony or Sith who seek dominance, the Quasesitorum seeks control through understanding. They study both Light and Dark techniques, stripping them of ritual and superstition. A healing technique is no more sacred than Force Lightning—both are simply expressions of will.

This makes them uniquely dangerous. They are unpredictable, unbound by taboo, and immune to the moral hesitation that often limits other Force users.

The Story
All growth needs change. Soon after taking command of the Imperial Crusaders within the Empire of the Lost, Teckla Tane Teckla Tane realized that if the goals of Emperor Velran Kilran were going to be made reality she would need to be allowed autonomy to do the work in a different realm than the standard resources of the Empire. Something akin to how the Jedi and the Republic of old and the Galactic Alliance or more recently existed. Two entities with parallel goals using their strengths to tug a rope in the same direction, coordinating where prudent, without one expressly answering to the other. There is a tremendous difference however between the Quasesitorum and the Jedi. The Quasesitorum does not seek to do the will of the Force. They believe the Force to be merely an energy source that some are able to utilize more so than others. The Quasesitorum serves the galaxy with a desire to bring all the people of the galaxy together under one structured order.

The backbone of the Quasesitorum started as the Imperial Crusaders. The military arm of the organization. While a part of the Quasesitorum, ultimately answering to the Archon-Prime, the string between the Empire of the Lost and the Imperial Crusaders was not completely cut until the fall of the Empire. Crusaders have become The Nexum Ferrum. Training at Camp Tenebria to lead clones and other troopers on the frontline.

Added to the Crusaders/Nexum Ferrum are the Provisions Department and the Obscurium. Provision agents worked in the overlapping areas of Force and science. Specializing in Alchemy, Technomancy, and other powers that could be used in the pursuit of science. They used their Force talents to create equipment and anything else that could support the sentient members of the group in the field with Force aided creations and improvements. Obscurium deals in matters that can't be handled with brute force as the Crusaders prefer. Dealing in subtlety Obscurers and Arilators use manipulation and shadow violence to bend others to the side of order.

Unfortunately instability came faster and harder than Teckla had imagined. First the attack from the Fifth Wing that debilitated the Empire of the Lost. Next the unexplained planet shift that moved systems randomly throughout the galaxy. Order was slipping through Teckla's fingers. After riots and desertions whittled the numbers of the Imperial Crusaders, Teckla sounded a retreat for those still loyal. The Quasesitorum regrouped around Zigoola.

The Consensus

Though the Archon-Prime was the last word on all things in the Quasesitorum, there is a need for other voices to be heard. The Consensus is a council consisting of the Archon-Prime, the Directors of the Obscurium and Provisions Department along with select members of the highest rankings. Their role is to advise the Archon-Prime and to take on decisions that the Archon-Prime has deemed below their station.

The Nexum Ferrum

The Story
Born from the Imperial Crusaders of the Empire of the Lost, The Nexum Ferrum is the front line forces of the Quasesitorum. The Nexum Ferrum (The Iron Binding) serves as the primary instrument of physical enforcement for the Quasesitroum. Rejecting the "mystical volatility" of both the Jedi and the Sith, this military wing operates on a philosophy of absolute secular order and architectural precision. They do not view themselves as conquerors, but as stabilizers—the iron framework necessary to prevent the galaxy from collapsing into the chaos of Force-driven ideologies.

The Nexum Ferrum prioritizes structural integrity and logic over individual heroics. Their tactics are characterized by:
  • Systemic Pacification: Rather than simple annihilation, they focus on the "binding" of systems through overwhelming presence, logistical superiority, and the implementation of rigid law.
  • Technological Supremacy: They utilize advanced, standardized weaponry and droid-integrated stratagems to counter the "unpredictable" nature of Force-sensitives.
  • The Secular Wall: Their formations and mental conditioning are designed to be a "nullification" force, standing as a physical barrier against those who would use the Force to influence galactic events.

Nexum Ferrum Command Structure

  • The Authority (Supreme Command)
    • Archon-Prime - The supreme leader of the Quasesitorum. The one who designs the grand structure of galactic control.
    • The Consensus - A small, powerful council of high-ranking officers who ratify the Architect's designs and ensure ideological purity.
  • The Lattice Officers (Strategic Command)
    • Praefect (or Praefect-General) - Commands large-scale sectors or entire planetary systems. Responsible for the broad application of the Nexum structure.
    • Legate - A highly trusted officer often assigned to specific, crucial operations or diplomatic/enforcement negotiations.
  • The Binding Cadre (Operational Leaders)
    • Magister - The highly experienced rank, equivalent to a Master, who has demonstrated perfect dedication to secular order.(equivalent to Jedi Master)
    • Vigile - The word means "watchman" or "sentinel" (related to 'vigilant'). They are the active agents, judges, and enforcers of the Nexum. The equivalent of a Jedi Knight. While a Jedi Knight is a "peacekeeper" in tune with the Force, a Nexum Ferrum Vigile is a stabilizer in tune with systemic logic. They are "vigilant" against the chaos of the Force and independent thought.
    • Acolyte - Equivalent to a Padawan, a trainee who is "binding" themselves to the order.
  • The Foundation Ranks (Clones, Enlisted & NFUs)
    • Centurion - Senior non-commissioned officer, managing standard combat units.
    • Axiom - An experienced elite trooper, considered the "base truth" or standard of the force.
    • Segment - Standard soldier or operational unit member.
    • Novitiate - The lowest enlisted rank, a raw recruit.

At the heart of the Nexum Ferrum are the Vigiles. Unlike the Jedi, who serve as wandering peacekeepers, the Vigile is a cold sentinel of the state. They act as judge, jury, and executioner in the field, ensuring that the "Axioms" of the Quasesitroum are upheld without deviation. To a Vigile, a Jedi is a religious insurgent and a Sith is a chaotic egoist; both are variables that must be removed to ensure a permanent, stable peace.

Represented by an interwoven lattice of reinforced metal, the Nexum Ferrum presents a monolithic and unyielding aesthetic. Their armor and vessels are devoid of ornamentation, favoring industrial durability and geometric efficiency to reflect their rejection of "superstitious" aesthetics.

The Obscurium

The Story
The Jedi employ Shadows, the Sith and other Empires employ Inquisitors. The Quasesitorum has a part of the order dedicated to intelligence and infiltration as well. This is The Obscurium. While the Imperial Crusaders had a hand in the overt military actions of the Empire of the Lost (and as a result the movement to bring the galaxy under a single structured rule of order), some things could not be done out in the open. Some battles could not be fought with tanks, blasters, starships and even lightsabers. If Teckla Tane's goals were to be met she did not feel that she could count on the governments to do the work for her. Those clandestine jobs would need to be sourced to members of her own order and commanded by someone she trusted. With the appointment of Teckla's sister Dextra as the first Director of The Obscurium the covert movement to bring orderly rule to the galaxy was secured.

At the start The Obscurium was focused on spycraft, sabotage, secret incursions, and even assassinations. The Tane sisters however sighted a new need as they took in the happenings around the galaxy. Sometimes a weapon was not needed at all. Sometimes parties could be nudged to become a part of the authoritarian structure that the galaxy needed to secure peace and prosperity over the infinite timeline. With that in mind alongside Obscurers (spies, assassins, etc), The Obscurium has developed Arilators. Played off as diplomats, the purpose of Arilators was not to find a compromise to benefit all, but to manipulate a situation in the direction of order that would benefit The Quasesitorum's prime directive.

Positions within The Obscurium: The Obscurium receive their orders from the Archon-Prime of The Quasesitorum with some degree of influence given to the Director of The Obscurium.
  • Senior Obscurer: Masters of covert Force use. Entrusted with taking lead on missions and training Deputies.
  • Field Obscurer: Works independently most often with very little safety net. Particularly efficient Field Obscurers will aid in the training of Deputy Obscurers.
  • Deputy Obscurer: Inexperienced member of the branch with either specialized training from outside the Quasesitorum or showing special prowess in covert activities while an Acolyte.
  • Senior Arilator: Masters of political manipulations a Senior Arilator is the cream of the crop as far as negotiations go. Though they can be sent on a mission merely because of the optics of sending an accomplished "diplomat", these arbiters are more often assigned missions as a last gasp attempt to avoid a costly conflict by molding the situation to benefit the Empire of the Lost and/or the Quasesitorum.
  • Field Arilator: Basic proven political agent of the Quasesitorum.
  • Deputy Arilator: Chosen from the Acolyte pool, or recruited with training from another Force order, Deputy Arilators are untested, untrusted manipulators who are molded by a Field or Senior Arilator.

The Verum - Special Assassin Squads

Within the structure of The Obscurium is a group of super secret, highly trained assassins and inciters. The Verum consisted of a four person hit squad commanded by a highly trusted Obscurer and manned by three specially created clones.

The Quasesitorum Provisions Department

The Story
Quite simply the Provision Department is the innovation branch of The Quasesitorum. It is where new ideas in science and the Force come together and are made into reality. Specialized equipment for a certain member of the Quasesitorum, a specific mission or just an innovation on something that already exists. This all comes from the Provision Department.

Positions within The Obscurium: The Obscurium receive their orders from the Archon-Prime of The Quasesitorum with some degree of influence given to the Director of The Provision Department.
  • Senior Provision Agent: Seasoned practitioner of both the Force and science. Given specific projects to further the capabilities of the Nexum Ferrum and The Obscurium. Tasked with the development of Deputy Agents.
  • Field Provision Agent: Responsible for delivering, testing and troubleshooting the creations of the department in the field with members of the other branches of the order. Occasionally given Deputy Agent to teach.
  • Deputy Provision Agent: Raw Provision Agent, usually working within a controlled laboratory environment supervised by a Senior Provision Agent.
