Hild takes a deep breath of the cold air with a smile. This, this is the perfect vacation for her. Her outfit keeps her warm but it is still cold enough for her to enjoy the cold air on her face, in her lungs. It feels... Almost like home. Before her nightmare started. A time when hunting beasts was her greatest worry and source of pride and fame. She did not come to Hoth for this, but the memories eventually led her to leave the safe areas of this icy planet and dare hunt on her own. She just had to pay a quick visit to the outpost a day of walk to the north, made of merchants and/or raiders selling their loot, and then she was ready to face the planet and it's wildlife.

Hunting is what she was good at. She's curious if she still has the talent for it, the passion to face wild creatures and conquer them. She's not carrying any blasters or lightsabers on her, only spears, bow, arrows, vibro-daggers and other smaller supplies such as rations and a sleeping bag. All bought recently, and clearly well used.
"... Is that blood?" She checks the handle of the vibro-dagger and... Yes, dried blood. Probably from the previous owner. That's... a bad sign, perhaps, but she remembers herself she's not supersticious anymore. If the previous owner of this weapon has died then it is not her problem. She cannot change the past, only shape the future. Her own future. Simple as that.

She sits down on top of a sleeping bag. She's using an empty cave as shelter, with a small fusion lamp on the floor by her side to bring some warmth. Her mind wanders to the sounds outside, the sounds of strong winds. As soon as the wind stops she needs to go out and hunt. This is a good shelter, so she'll be using it for a while longer, but even Sith-in-training need to eat. Her rations will not last for long.

And she wants to prove herself worthy of surviving by hunting dangerous beasts. Just her natural skills, none of the things her Master tortured her into learning.

Hoth was a strange world. Despite the barren, inhospility of it all, there was civilization here. Small towns and outposts littered the planets surface, Most were nothing but smugglers and other outcasts of society, but a few were true settlements. Hydroponic farms within domed structures providing food for the miners, scientists and other assorted individuals who might make their homes here. Among them, Kathal might not have been too strange a sight, but even here, he refused to remove his mask.

The black and gold robes he wore provided him with enough warmth as he moved through the outpost, his golden eyes drifting across the various stalls and tables. Few offered anything of interest to the Shaman, but he had learned much during his brief visit. He had come to the planet to hunt down rumors of a Sith relic on the planet. This rumor had revealed itself to be a broken lightsaber. A relic, certainly, but not one of interest to Kathal. He had been preparing to leave the world when he heard whispers of a traveler that had made their way through the outpost the day before.

Intrigued, Kathal had plied for information, and when he had figured out the general direction she had departed, he set out into the wilderness after her. It took several hours to narrow down his search, but as he drew closer, he began to feel a pull through the Force. Further intrigued, Kathal began to advance towards a cave in the distance, intent to meet the Force Sensitive. The Dominion of Shadows was always searching for new blood in its ranks.

Perhaps this trip was not for nothing.

Opens her eyes when the sounds die down. It's quiet outside, the storm finally moving on to bother someone else. She just had a quick nap after failing to meditate. If only all of her problems would go away after a quick nap.

Time to work. She turns the lamp off to save it's battery and rolls her sleeping bag to place them in a corner. She'd rather not carry extra weight with her when she leaves this cave. There's always the chance some wild animal will move move in after she leaves, so they'll be easy prey for when she returns in... several days? She doesn't know for how long she will be walking, a real trial is meant to test the extremes.

Hild places her weapons on her person. Arrows and bow on her back, daggers in every pocket she can stuff them in, and the spear on a hand. She departs. She's dressed for the cold weather and invisible to heat detection. Her thoughts are as clear as they possibly can. Hild's putting her training to good use, both as a huntress and as a Sith, to track down and surprise prey. Any prey. Anything to challenge her limits and make her worthy of live on and ... Something. Her knowledge is limited but those tests are meant to bring some big revelation, but her flawed education has several blank pieces of information.

So she does it her way. Improvisation, determination and survivalnation. Hild walks through the snow, her senses sharp, her intent clear. But she finds nothing. She considers returning to her cave and then take another direction when she notices movement further ahead, an obvious figure wearing black against the white snow. A... hunter? Smuggler? No, those types would not walk alone through the snow. It's too far to be certain but Hild prepares herself. She crouches down to hide her figure and holds the bow and one arrow on her hands. For now she watches, waiting for this figure to move closer. It's... coming her way?

Is it the prey she was looking for?
