ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Automated Factory: Through the use of tractor beams and molecular furnaces, the World Despoilers can tear up natural resources and convert them into processed materials that are then used in the construction of armor, weapons, and vehicles ranging from tanks to starfighters via the automated factories.
  • Mobile Fortress: Because of its vital nature as a mobile factory, the World Despoilers are bristling with defensive weapon emplacements, thick armor plating, and robust deflector shields.
  • (Theoretically) Endless Fighters: On their lonesome each World Despoiler can hold a maximum of forty-two starfighter squadrons, typically consisting of twenty-four SI-TIE/D Droid fighters per each squadron. That gives the World Despoiler a defensive screen of just over a thousand fighters, with the innate ability to produce more when given enough raw materials.
WEAKNESSES
  • Zero Maneuverability: Beyond the booster engines that give the World Despoiler its forward momentum, the only way for the Leviathan to turn around is to come to a complete stop and meticulously spin around very slowly.
  • Sluggish: Moving the World Despoiler on the fly is a laborious project, as the internally automated factories have to be shut down in order for enough power to be redirected to the engines for movement or to the hyperdrive for calculated jumps.
  • Limited Weapons Coverage: Most of the World Despoiler's weapon systems are situated around the vehicle and on top of the vehicle, with very few weapons other than tractor beams being position beneath the titanic vessel.
DESCRIPTION

The Empire's factories and production facilities are well-established and vital to the proliferation of the Imperial War Machine that cements the Empire's policy of territorial acquisition. However, these locations are static and are dependent on the resources being transported to the factories themselves, making the disruption of trade routes a devastating setback to the Empire's war economy.

But what if the factories came to the resources?

The World Despoilers was the answer.

Mobile and automated by self-regulation computer and production systems, the World Despoilers possessed several strong tractor beam projectors that could upheave the land around them and draw large quantities of raw material into massive molecular furnaces. These furnaces converted that material into usable resources such as refined metals that were then used by the self-regulating factories to make weapons, armor, and vehicles for the Sith Empire. Smaller vessels, such as starfighters (especially automated droid starfighters) were the easiest to produce on a rapid scale, with a single Despoiler able to produce about eight to ten small strikecraft in a single hour so long as all of its production facilities were being used towards starfighter production.

Typically, Despoilers would focus on one singular production only depending on the need of the Imperial force around it.

While the tractor beams could certainly tear up earth and stone, it was not enough to cause cataclysmic levels of destruction, such as shift entire continents or even kill the planet itself. Rather, the tractor beams were considered to be on par of comparable ships its size, if not perhaps slightly stronger; certainly strong enough to grapple hold of smaller vessels and draw them towards the molecular furnace.

Elaborated on the submission's tractor beams and production capabilities

[member="Darth Carnifex"], I think that their durability certainly is a part of it, but I'm more concerned about its offensive/constructive capabilities. This probably isn't the most direct quote, but I think that this quote from Wookieepedia's article on World Devastators gets to the heart of matter quickly:
There, its mighty tractor beam projectors would literally tear the planet beneath it apart, thus making them "planet killers."
I'd like to see a bit more clarification on how much damage the tractor beams can do here, as well as a rough idea of their rate of producing things, just to make sure that we're steering clear of this being a superweapon.
