Wookies, trandoshans, peace?... oh my... Hutt Cartel vs GR [Hutt cartel dominion of Trandosha]

Trandosha
2961696399_0358c12dde_o.gif
For years the planets of Kashyyk and Trandosha has endured peace and prosperity. Its two native speices the wookies and Trandoshans elders having reached agreements to cast their never ending war aside. An effort only possible due to the hard working republic diplomats to show the people of Trandosha the ways of democracy and peace.
The current Trandoshan ruling body supported by a wookie council has made sure to avoid any road bumps down the road and with the help of the republic the species has finally managed to live peacefully at each other sides on the borderland of Republic and Hutt Cartel space.
The peace has brought stability and economic growth to the sector and the Trandoshan governemnt has accepted wookie presence in their midst, with wookie merchants and even a local policing unit to support the capital in times of need.
But all is not well in the deep jungles of trandosha. A new generation of young and eager trandoshan hunters want to prove themselves.
They are trandoshan warriors seeking to cast this peace aside in favor of their ancient and revered religion. the worship of the scorekeeper. In their eyes their ways is not adaptable with this non-aggression pact with the wookie home world. They despise their aging leadership for having abandoned the old ways and seek to overthrow them along with their wookie advisors whom they consider a stain on their honorable society.
The wookie council has a small but trained wookie unit in the capital, mostly to help keep the peace but far too small to be able to stop the rebellion.
Having sensed this opportunity, the hutt cartel has been smuggling in weapons and supplies for the young tribal warriors. Through secret negotiation with these young tribal chiefs they have agreed to support this rebellion. The plan has been molded in the dark and the strike will be quick. Since there is no chance Trandosha can withstand a retaliation from the Republic supported Kashyyk the hutt cartel has agreed to step in as protectors of this new regime once it is installed.
Being neutral space on the paper the plotting hutts of the cartel believe that while this will upset the Republic senate - it can not be considered a direct attack on Republic territory.
With a slaver fleet approaching from Hutt cartel space and the Trandoshan rebels moving into the capital the wookie friendly government see no other way out then flee to fight another day.
But time is against them and without help they will be caught prisoners of the Cartel and their slavers.

The Objectives
Chose one to get started, but there is no rule from from shifting objective if you would like to try out different ones.
A - Space skirmish - The slaver fleet
An enormous slaver fleet of Huttsmen has left hutt space and is en route to Trandosha. As a part of their deal with the trandoshan rebels they are to supply the cartel with fresh slaves.
Cartel pilots - you act as escort to the slave freighters who will be sitting ducks without your protection.
Republic pilots - you have received orders to intercept this fleet and destroy as many huttsmen as possible. Let the politicians worry about the aftermath, these slave ships must be stopped.
B - Ground PvP - Assualt of Hsskor
The capital of Trandosha is governed by the wookie friendly government, but lacking the support of its population they have barricaded themselves in the Tally house of Hskoor. Protected by a small butr well eqiped wookie military the capital is bound to be lost by this surprise attack. While the wookies are standing their ground to protect the capital, The wookie firendly government desperately awaits the republic evacuation ships. Mean while the rebellion is spreading like wild fire through the streets and the near by jungle.
Cartel enforcers - assist the Trandoshan "freedom fighters" and oppose anyone assisting the wookie friendly government. Invade the capital and seize control over the city.
Republic ground forces - Keep the trandoshan invaders at bay until the Trandoshan elders and their wookie council are safely brought out of harms way.
C - smuggling/evacuate
There is really no telling who control what at this time. Opportunist smugglers can definitely earn credits by supporting either side.
Cartel smugglers - Smuggle weapons and material from the cartel to the Trandoshan rebelion
Republic smuggler/evac team - Get the government and its wookie councilors off the ground and into safety.
D - Negotiations
Once this conflict started GR intelligence could put the pieces together and realize where the backing comes from. Perhaps it is time to contact the Hutts and ask what in the kark they are doing?
Cartel leadership - pretend its raining.
Republic diplomats - try to get something out of this to ensure a continued peace between the planets?
E - WOOKIE/TRANDOSHAN duel
Naturally!. If you are writing a wookie or trandoshan, Find your counterpart and give us a duel to remember!
F - Do your own thing.
Really, the objectives are just ideas and inspiration. You are free to find a story to your liking and go for it. Just bare in mind that it should clearly connect with the actual conflict somehow.

Under nightly protection the trandoshan tribe had arrived to the landing site in the middle of the jungle. Cartel freighters were unloading weapons and ammunition for them. Eagerly the warriors armed themselves to answer their species cry for war, their godess demanded jagganath and they were going to be given many of them if they could find and kill the wookies residing in their capital.

"Zure thing... that blazter will kill a wookie with juzt one zhot my friend..." Ka-Aver lied to one of the younger warriors who held his new weapon with eagerness beaming from his eyes.

"Juzt point and zhoot. You'll zee."

The thick jungle was filled with pestering mosquitoes and other insects. Ka-Aver slapped his cheek hard to kill whatever it was that kept buzzing around him. This planet was not to his liking at all. He preferred open space, the deserts of Sriluur and the desert wind stroking his face.

But a job was a job and those Hutts wanted these crates delivered here. So he delivered them. Well others did the actual delivering, he just guarded them.

The cartel thugs watched as yet another tribe had been supplied and hurried off in the jungle to seize control over some remote area of the planet. While the main objective was to control the capital there was naturally other locations that needed to be taken care of.

Ka-Aver smacked his lips peered into the darkness. More smugglers were bound to come but the plan seemed to have worked just as the bosses had described. Maybe he should move himself to a more interesting location

Green, clear eyes, heavy-lidded, a fettered breath becoming thicker and in the moisture exhaled from it's lungs the air like sitting in a small cloud. Rough green-brown skin, thick, leathery and dry. This is a Trandoshan, a warrior like species hailing from Trandosha, steeped in the mystical religion and nuisances of its people. Or at least it had until the Republic had committed murder, murder of Trandosha culture through trade blockades and actual blockades, and installed a cowardly ruling council abandoning their culture and it's people. Or at least how the traditional Trandoshan tribes felt.

---
He moved into the room, the heavy lidded eye's moving with an almost mechanical and sardonic nature to it. "Yesss.." there was a sing song way to his speech patterns, a way to how the tongue slid up and over the teeth in an almost unnatural fashion, giving his words a menace or alien quality. "They better, we're putting a lot faith in the Huttss.." there was a slight twitch to his digits, the claw running rings on the palms of his hand's. "Republic puppets have no place on Trandosha." his word's were like a low growl, the aggression so common in his species heavy in his voice.

He crossed his arms, the rounded bulbs of his elbows locking onto his raised arms giving a stern but bleak look, taking the blaster and holding in his pointed digits, he gave it a critical look only a reptile could accomplish. "These will do."

Thraxis was amongst those assigned by Flannigan to get the weapons onto the grounds, though he would have much rather would be attacking straight away, he understood that the captain knew what was best, though that did not mean Thraxis would have to like the orders. He looked around as the cargo was being delivered to the men, handing out the weapons, and watching as the people aim their guns.

Thraxis looked around, begrudged by the whole situation, and not all that eager to fight a horde of wookies head on. He pulled out a bottle of grog, all the while his hand batting at the Space Mosquitoes that buzzed around him like moths drawn to a flame. "Damn bug... should just do what we done with the Mandos on Gallos and burn this place down. Bloody Wookies have fur, cant be all that resistant to a roaring inferno." he muttered under his breath, still busily flicking away the bugs that tried to harvest his blood for sustenance.

In the distant a howling sound flared to life over the treetops and in between the brushes. The sound of Trandoshan war leaders assembling their hunters for the hunt.
It had begun. the Trandoshan attack were moving to their targets, coordinated with Cartel efforts their rebellion was under the way.

But there was still coming more eager young warriors to be fed with cartel weapons. Most would be given the standard equipment.

But [member="Doska"] was not coming of as the standard inexperienced hunter.

Ka-Aver nodded at [member="Doska"]

"Yuz, the huttz are keen on keeping youz happy. No worriez there." he tried with his totaly uncharming neutral voice and stern smileless face.

"Tell youz what. I can zee you are no rookie around here. The cartel haz zome interezting gear to zpread around"

The large weequay turned and motioned for two near by slaves to push forth the large crate, the crate with the specials in it.

"Here youz go friend. Take a look, perhapz zomething you like iz here."

He moved his hand over the open crate displaying the weapons to choose from.

"Complimentz from Zempra the Hutt"
Ka-Aver forced a grin.

Vinskk breathed in the hot, humid air of the jungle. It was good as hell to be home. He had departed the Black Talon earlier, taking with him his first mate Free-Eyes, a notorious Gran slicer, and his 40 slaver soldiers. He had ordered the rest of the crew to sit tight and be prepared to provide light air to ground support if necessary. This wasn't just going to be a skirmish, after all. This was going to be an all-out revolution.

The Trandoshan observed the scene around him with his soulless, reptilian eyes. Eager young hunters and slavers, his people no less, quickly began to take up arms. The time was almost near. Vinskk and his crew had been given a very specific assignment. They would covertly infiltrate the city during the large scale fighting, where the main Wookiee force would be too distracted to notice the strike team skulking to their destination.
The city hall.
There was a Wookiee council meeting today. All the furbags that were in charge of subjugating his people would be together, in one building. It was going to be a slaughter, and rightfully so. His people had endured the shackle of peace for far too long. It was time for war now.

Vinskk took a deep breath and boomed out for all to here in his native language of Dosh, "Brothers! Allies! Today we fight for the Scorekeeper! Show no mercy to Wookiees and Trandoshan weaklings!" He was referring to the old Trandoshan generation that had willingly agreed to peace with the Wookiees and the Republic, who supported their long hated rivals.
"What weaklings have done is blasphemy to the sacred Scorekeeper, cutting off Trandosha's talons and teeth. But never again! Trandosha shall be free once again, and The Scorekeeper shall smile upon us once again!"

The Trandoshans around Vinskk cheered and roared, the message speaking to them specifically. His crew grinned in bloodlust, and their leader, Darkgear, roared in pleasure, "I'm getting me a new rug tonight, mates!" Free-Eyes hesitantly gripped his blaster and waited for his leader to make the move. Vinskk signalled his crew forward with a gesture, and all 42 of them began to advance, beginning the trek to the capital...

"That one," he shuffled removing jack knife from the table, "that one." he removed a vonginator, too and finally most surprisingly without saying 'that one' he removed an icebreaker. He hung onto the icebreaker, on his side the jack knife, on his back a vonginator, gripped between his arm's and sometimes his hand's and for the most part a strap that loosely hung from his green shoulder, like a vine hanging from a particular lizard like canopy. "These will do." he hissed, it wasn't an unfriendly hiss it was more a punctuation between silence and his next sentence, something like a speech impediment but for the whole race of man lizards.

"Wills we be gettin' Zempras men to help." his lip's spread up and over his gums revealing a crocidile of a grin, which is to say there are many pointy teeth. "Or just his wepenss.." [member="Ka-Aver"]

"Akk!" he took up his fellow Trandoshans, battle-cry and exclamation of [member="Vinskk Revamp"] speech, Wookie meat, Wookie suits, and all time favourite Wookie rugs, culture was back and it had fur in mind.

The fish switchback, or, the fishback. In a galaxy with trillions of sentients it had probably been called many names and would be called many more, but that's what the pilot called it. Like the foundation of all good tricks, it was simple. Fortune's nature meant the more parts a plan depended on the more chances the plan would fail. Better to start with a fertile foundation, one that can be modified, added to. Planned to fail and grow in all directions, each branch birthing more, all of them possible paths to take. From the outside following any path might appear spontaneous and improvised, but only because others hadn't seen the realities considered and not come to pass.

The way conversation between complete strangers could jump from topic to topic while neither party felt nothing but completely engrossed proved this was a common capacity. Moah had simply brought it forth. Visualized it. To be manipulated as he saw fit.

One hundred thousand credits and another hundred later was a worthwhile reason to work on and execute such a plan. But Moah never cared much for money. The adventure and exploration from smuggling was also worth it, and more enjoyable. But that's not why Moah did the fishback either. He could have shot into Trandosha on a Hutt ship, or just bribed the right people. Moah did the fishback because he enjoyed the artifice of it. It was a dancer leaping to the right while you were convinced they were about go to the left. A fleet threatening a bombardment before suddenly making a ground assault. Successfully negotiating a merchant into a loss while his friend steals your wallet.

The pilot enjoyed seeing how a plan turned out, how unexpected events both destroyed possibilities and opened up new opportunities, turning a complex edifice into a undulating, living fractal to be experienced. To get lost in.

Fish. That's how the con started, and how it ended. Specifically shark. Frist shark. So chosen because it was native to Trandosha. Exporting it left a paper trail. Which he would need when he came back to his destination. The fishback switchback, like its name suggested, began and ended at the same place, just with guns wrapped in a beautiful fish package. The excuse for transporting the same thing both ways was simple enough. Got bad fish, customers switched to chicken. That's where acting skill, keeping cool under pressure came in.

"You come in with Frissst ssshark?"

The customs official asked.

"Yeah, went bad on the way over. But what do I care? I got insurance."

Moah gave the Trandoshan a big grin. The official shrugged to himself and digitally stamped his papers.

Ka-Aver leaned heavily on his two handed glaive as [member="Doska"] rumnled through the offered gear. He had to get some better stuff himself sometime. But, being all busy with breaking legs and smuggling spice he had not really given it much thought, yet.

"Good choicez there," he approved as the reptilian equiped himself. For a minute he felt like following @dosk into the fray. But he was not done here yet.

"Zure, Zempra haz zome of hiz bezt men around. No worriez, Fir example [member="Thraxis"] there. Might not look for much but wait until he ztartz shooting. " he pointed his thumb at the drinking man standing near by.

While it might not have been very persuasive it was at least the truth. The cartel had sent a small army of mercenaries to reinforce the rebellion. They could not risk loosing it all after so much had been invested.

Then the call for arm by [member="Vinskk Revamp"] was heard and [member="Doska"] seemed to answer it.
"And there be more around in a bit. But youz better get ztarted, I hear em callingz all over thr jungle."

Solan leaned on his hand and sighed as he stared at the city itself while sitting at the gates of the capitol. Rebellions were fun sometimes but not when they were as obvious as this one, he probably would have bet money on how soon one happened after the Republic lost influence on the world. I mean it was almost stupid to think the transdoshans would live forever under peace with wookies and now the very thing he had expected came to pass it seemed. There was only one squad of legionnaires with him, a real shame he had not brought more and right now they were playing overwatch while he waited for something to do.

It was a rather simple day in terms of what he had on him, his two dc17 blasters from an age old and gone. Vibrodaggers lining the inside of his Viola Coat, a trenchcoat which he rather enjoyed having on him. The Dauntless blade sheathed over his shoulder for quick use and a saber hidden in the sleeve of his coat. No big bag of tricks, no grenades as he started to find new methods to carry about the napalm that he did from time to time. No for right now he leaned back and waited.

It wouldn't be long granted, there was bound to be something or someone coming his way but to tell the truth he had no idea which it would be rather projectile or being. Infact he was unsure what to even expect from the Transdoshans in terms of overall force, he would need to take each one of them with a grain of salt and be careful.

Monitoring, that was his job of late, monitoring planets, wars and carefully planned rebellions, they might not be all his plan's most weren't but most stopped off at his desk, and after all he was the one to sign his name at the bottom. He would be the one to offer a hand to Trandosha, in such uncertain times, maybe on the way there it might be free of its Republic puppet oppressors, and with them gone freedom of religion, and the right to rejoin the galaxy as some of the most talented slavers.

Light from distance stars drifted by, eliminating the bridges darkness that had been ordered by the mechanical pirate, it made him look more threatening the way shadows crawled over him like malign imps sent from the darkness corners of the galaxy, it made it a lot harder to committee mutiny on someone who looked like a space demon that had bred with a toaster, and anything could be there in this light. Atmosphere he breathed, call him a monster or defect brain in a jar he was a man born for the stage, he might have said an unfitting quote from some famous space poet like 'All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players'. But he said this "I hope the printer has enough ink, there's going to be alot of paper work, and I refuse to do anything on a terminal." he paused adjusting himself with a roll of his shoulder's "Just doesn't have that same feel."

Nyx had been to worse dumps, for sure.
As she stood among the Trandoshan rebels, the Hutt Enforcer examined the city of Hsskor. She knew her fellow Cartel members were surrounding the place, and that the wookie-friendly government had barricaded themselves in the city, with a guard of the giant walking carpets. Her job was to make sure they left the surface, preferably in a body bag.

With a wave of her hand, Nyx gave the signal to the Trandoshans with her, and drew one of her revolvers. The lizards began to move towards the city, with their human leader behind them.
The Dark Jedi was ready to kill some furbags, and get paid handsomely for doing it.

As always, Kay was about trying to make the Galaxy a peaceful place. So when she had heard about the growing rift between the Trandoshan leadership and their youth, she had to help. It was in neutral territory, so she didn't think that she would have much to worry about.

Some of the Elders paced back and forth, looking through the windows every few minutes as if expecting an invading force any minute now. As negotiations between the two sides seemed to have failed, they were eager to get off planet. And so was Kay. Especially since it had come to her attention that the Hutt Cartel was behind the uprising. There was no way that she wanted to be caught amongst them again. At least not for a while. She still had some recovery to do after her capture and her good friend [member="Solan Charr"] suggested that she continue to help others so that she could heal. So Kay came out of her shell a bit to help in negotiations. It seemed like an easy enough job to do.

"Everyone just calm down, please. I'm sure that help will arrive soon and that we can bring you to safety. But until then we need to keep calm...."

Lofkazza had been called to Trandosha. He knew not how the wookiee council there had learned about him or why he was contacted, but the two things he hated most in the galaxy were preparing to kill his people yet again. Slavers and reptile scum.

He hated the smell of Trandosha. The reptiles and stench of the humidity clinging to his fur. The jungle creeping around everything. He was glad to be surrounded by his fellow wookiees. Outnumbered as they may be. Their position was decent, they had a little time to fortify it. He held his bowcaster loosely in his hand, waiting with the others for signs of an assault. They knew not how many were coming, nor did he care. All slavers and reptile scum must die.

The tall grass and trees were of much aid concealing Vinskk and his crew. Free-Eyes scanned the city hall, used as a council building, with a pair of binoculars.
"Hm...doesn't seen to be too fortified. Not any more than your average city building, anyway. Durasteel blast doors in case of emergency are really the only security highlight. I can crack those open like nothing, though."
The Gran blinked at Vinskk expectantly. The Trandoshan nodded, then turned to Darkgear.
"Ready the men. Attack when the main strike force hits."
Darkgear shrugged. "I'd prefer to fight in the streets, but whatever ya say, boss." He gave a hand gesture, and the experienced professionals readied their weapons in anticipation of the covert operation...

Why a planet like this came to be named in the first place, Corvus wasn't sure. It didn't have a lot going for it. But to name it three times? That was just greedy. And the locals weren't exactly the shy and retiring types that typically needed saving, but Corvus knew what she had to do. It was an area of space she knew well and that was one of the key reasons for her presence. The Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk was nearby and there were a number her to be saved from the advances of the Hutt Cartel. The same Hutt Cartel that allegedly convinced some of the Senate they were cuddly types that wanted to make peace with the Republic.

She approached Hsskhor (the city, not the third optional name of the planet) and was allowed through their makeshift defenses before landing and seeing where she was best positioned.

It seemed a group of Trandoshans with a human leading them was heading this way. Corvus closed her eyes and meditated. She stood in the streets whilst all around her hustled and bustled, throwing up makeshift barricades. She chose to stand there in her standard Jedi robes (she'd managed to leave the house without her older sister insisting she wore armour), one hand balanced loosely on the pommel of a katana tucked into her belt.

And she waited. For the Force would tell her when it was time to act. Until then, she could be at peace. After all she'd been through of late, it made a lot of sense - even if it did look slightly odd, given the circumstances.

She glanced around at the jungle around them, constantly on the look-out for threats. Her own blaster rifle was strapped across her back, her pistol and vibroblade at her hip.

At the sound of a war cry, Ash's head whipped around to the direction the call came from. Stepping towards [member="Doska"], she placed one hand on her blaster. "Of course you'll get more help than just weapons." She wasn't sure about the others, but she was ready for a fight. And if it improved the Cartel's business, then that was all the better. "Sithspit," Vynn whispered, the sound loud in the otherwise absolute silence of the Downward Spiral's cockpit.

The approaching slaver fleet was huge. The escorts alone would have been impressive, particularly the neutronium-armored behemoth that led them; that thing, bristling with turbolaser batteries and missile tubes, could probably blow apart a defense station in one salvo. But the terror of being dwarfed by that sleek-shelled predator was nothing compared to the horror of realizing how many Huttsmen followed behind it, how many cramped cells their durasteel hallways must bear.

This was a fleet to break a thousand families apart, and there wasn't a kriffing thing Vynn could do.

But he was done with causes anyway, he reminded himself. If there was anything his life on Crina had taught him, it was that sticking your neck out for a cause was pointless. There was no justice in the galaxy, only superior firepower, and standing against that was a good way to watch everything you love die. He was only here to do a job, one for which he'd be paid enough to keep running from his nightmares and mistakes a little longer: evac the Trandoshan government ahead of an uprising by their own angry people.

Funny. It hadn't been so long ago that he'd been trying to create that kind of uprising.

He hadn't known the Hutt Cartel was involved when he'd taken the job; there wasn't time to do a whole lot of background checking when your job offer was a frantic distress call. Frankly, he wasn't sure if he'd have taken the job if he'd known. Crossing the Cartel was bad news, the kind of thing that got you spaced or thrown to hungry akk dogs while coated in nerf butter. Of course, he hadn't actually crossed them yet, and he didn't have to. He could, he realized, staring at the open space beyond the planet, just turn around and leave.

He slammed his hand down on the control board, sending a little shimmy through the instrument panel. Who was he kidding? He could always be counted on to be an idiot and try to play the hero.

Moving the Downward Spiral up to full throttle, Vynn began a breakneck descent toward the planet. He'd stripped out the stealth yacht's fanciest, most impractical bits, like the thermal dissipator and gravitic modulators, to free up power for the extra-large engines and maneuvering thrusters he'd mounted to the craft. It meant that he wasn't nearly as sensor-invisible as the original design, since a clever sensor operator could spot his heat signature and the sublight engines' gravitic disturbances, but druk if he couldn't run circles and circles around a fleet of Huttsmen.

And if he made it to the planet well ahead of the slaver fleet, and before the rebels took the capitol, maybe he could pull this job off.

"Downward Spiral to Hsskhor capitol building," Vynn began, opening a secure channel. "The evac boat is on its way. Just hang on."
