OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Kitok Massassi, "New Warriors" / Wonosan Massassi
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Order of Wonosa Facilities
  • Average Lifespan: Varies depending on initial species but generally 120s.
  • Estimated Population: Scattered
  • Description: Amongst the various denizens of the galaxy that can fall in with the Order of Wonosa, none are quite as spectacular and horrific in equal measure as their Massassi. Legionnaires who have suffered grievous injuries in battle and wish to accept the blessings of the Sith, these warriors wield their mutated appendages as weapons of war alongside their traditional weaponry. Those advanced enough in their condition will hardly resemble their original self at all, being somewhat hulking monsters of faith and flesh.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Predominantly Type I & II, though many can survive Type III and Type IV depending on their original species and the progression of their Sithspawn condition.
  • Average Height of Adults: Variable.
  • Average Length of Adults: Variable.
  • Skin color: Variable, often pales or greys.
  • Hair color: Variable.
  • Distinctions: While most of their physical qualities will remain from before their transformation into Massassi Sithspawn, said transformation tends to result in their complexion growing paler and more pallid. Predominantly the most visible hallmarks of their transformations are that of their Sithspawn appendages and physical manifestations. Often these are partial or entire limb replacements however transformed organs will yield similar physical signs, that of umbral flesh that is both sinewy and strong. Their veins will be more visible and will share a color with the growths that appear sporadically across their affected body parts, resembling crimson eyes. Some of these growths and their veins have even exhibited bioluminescence if they are sufficiently advanced enough in their condition. Age doesn't progress their Sithspawn condition but rather injury does, with the more grievous wounds resulting in the physical traits spreading more widely across their form until they are entirely ashen and umbral skinned creatures rife with spines and claws.
  • Races: Aside from whatever existing racial or species differences that they might have sported before their transformation into Massassi, there isn't any real distinctions between them aside from simply how progressed or advanced their Sithspawn condition is.
    • Stage 1: The stage immediately following the implantation of Massassi tissue, organs, or most commonly limbs. At this stage the complexion of the newly transformed Massassi will be somewhat paler and of course any visible Sithspawn implants or replacements will be apparent but they will otherwise be more or less the same being that they were before the procedures. Typically alongside whatever direct implants or replacements are included in the procedures, the newly transformed Massassi will also tend to have heightened reflexes and a faster rate of healing.
    • Stage 2: This stage can be reached following the initial procedures, depending on how much of the Sithspawn tissue is used, however it most often comes after the Massassi has received grievous injuries after their initial transformation. In this stage in response to their injuries, the exact type and severity of which varies quite a bit but is typically fairly life threatening in nature, the Massassi's Sithspawn tissue will begin accelerating their body's healing rate even faster and some of this newly regrown tissue will be new Sithspawn tissue rather than regular flesh and skin. This results in their condition becoming slightly more visible, as well as enhanced physical capabilities such as greater strength, speed, and senses depending on where the new Sithspawn tissue has grown.
    • Stage 3: Regarded as the "point of no return" for the Massassi, this stage is triggered following the onset of Stage 2 after a relatively significant amount of new Sithspawn tissue has grown. At this stage unlike in the previous two all newly healed tissue of any significant degree will become Sithspawn tissue and this often results in slight behavioral changes as well as manifestations of telepathy and more prominent displays of their siphoning capabilities. Due to large parts of their bodies being Sithspawn tissue, the Massassi of this stage are far more physically adept and durable than their normal counterparts. This stage also unfortunately signals that the Sithspawn process will only continue to advance to later stages from here should the Massassi survive and continue sustaining notable injuries, unlike the previous two stages where the Sithspawn tissue can be extracted without fear of it simply replacing itself.
    • Stage 4: The penultimate stage of the Massassi transformation is predominantly characterized by a significant increase in the rate of new Sithspawn tissue being created. Every bruise and cut no matter how small will result in new tissues and thus the further spread of the Sithspawn condition with all the aforementioned benefits of the previous stages now likely saturating every body part to some degree. Aggression and cannibalistic tendencies are also hallmarks of this stage in spite of their draining sustenance becoming stronger. This stage may be drawn out or lengthy depending on how long it takes for the Massassi's original body to be fully regenerated and replaced by new tissue, though this can also be said of all previous stages as well of course.
    • Stage 5: Once all original tissue has been replaced the Massassi transformation has reached its last stage. While the individual that existed before the initial procedures will still exist in their retention of their memories, skills, and predominant personality traits, they will also be undeniably morphed into someone new. A fully transformed Kitok Massassi craves battle and slaughter so that it may sustain itself on the negative emotions and flesh of its foes, and at times even its allies. Their original form will be all but undiscernible amidst their full Sithspawn body, all of their flesh ashen or umbral and sporting sharp ridges and red growths and pulsing veins. These Massassi are but echoes of the brave and foolish soldiers that first underwent the procedure and for the rest of their lives they will know only war and bloodshed, for that is all that they will ever crave from here on out.
  • Force Sensitivity: All
Massassi-Legionnaire2.png
Strengths:
  • Living Weapons: The primary purpose of the procedures that create the Kitok Massassi isn't just to restore the soldiers that undergo them back to their former physical state but instead to improve upon them entirely and that is certainly something that they accomplish. Whether it be in the form of rending claws that can tear through armor, rough skin which can handle glancing blows without bleeding, or simply peak physical fitness and reflexes, the Massassi are deadly biological weapons.
  • Imbued with the Force: No small part of their enhanced prowess, senses, and of course their more esoteric capabilities is due to their Sithspawn nature. Their more advanced forms can even utilize limited Force abilities, though these are typically in the form of improving their physical attributes rather than anything more drastic or spectacular. Any amount of augmentation however, especially in the enhancement and gifting of senses, that gives them an edge is still significant in regards to battlefield performance.
Weaknesses:
  • Forged in the Dark: Naturally the Kitok Massassi are creatures of the Dark Side and thus are significantly hindered by some powers such as Force Light or simply by being near a Light Side Nexus, as well as being generally less effective when under the effects of Force Nullification. It should be noted however that these effects scale depending on the progression of their condition, meaning that while earlier stages of Massassi will be weaker than their later stage brethren they are somewhat more resistant to such effects. Though not entirely resistant of course.
  • Progressive Growth: The Massassi transformation, unlike with most Sithspawn procedures, isn't one simple process but rather a progressive condition. While there are some significant improvements from one stage to the next these do not come without cost. The original being that underwent the procedures will slowly transition into a more aggressive version of themselves, eventually unable to do anything other than fight and kill. Additionally the healing and regeneration that the Massassi stages are signified by can at times be fast enough that it grows over apparel or objects which are caught in wounds, necessitating incisions to remove such materials before they are permanently trapped within the body of the Massassi. For this reason shrapnel protection and loose clothing are highly recommended.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Typically Omnivorous, however much like the original Massassi they can actually sustain themselves through siphoning from the Dark Side of the Force. This is an almost unconscious process, with them slowly draining from either the Force itself depending on the environment or from the negative emotions of those around them which often results in fatigue from whoever is subjected to their unintentional draining. Though many tend to have carnivorous tendencies to the point of devouring raw meat and even consuming other sentients on occasion, depending on how advanced their condition is.
  • Communication: Spoken languages such as Galactic Basic, Huttese, or Sith like most sentients. However, the more progressed Sithspawn stages of Massassi can utilize a very limited form of telepathy. Though typically only other Force Sensitive beings can actually receive their telepathic messages.
  • Technology level: Nothing of note, reliant on the Order of Wonosa and Galactic Standard.
  • Religion/Beliefs: As all of the Kitok Massassi were members of the Order of Wonosa before their transformation they by and large are followers of the Kotsûshatul Itsu religion. Believing in the divinity of the Dark Side with their personal roles as blessed of it to be the liberators of the galaxy and protectors of their peers.
  • General behavior: The Kitok Massassi are exclusively created from willing soldiers and warriors of the Order of Wonosa that have received grievous life altering injuries or are otherwise in a fatally critical condition, and at the onset of their transformation they will initially simply continue whatever lives they had lived before undergoing the procedure. Over time however as their condition progresses they will gradually grow more distant from their original lives, instead becoming far more warlike and hostile. Training in the arts of violence will become a priority for them, or they will start indulging in their new hungers for negative emotions and raw flesh. Regardless as they become more Sithspawn than whatever being they were initially they will change and slowly abandon their old lives in favor of their new ones. Their new lives soon consisting only of slaughter and war with the scarce moments between battles being little more than distractions or a time to sate their unnatural appetites, though it must be said that they do retain enough of themselves to recognize friend from foe and can even hold conversations with their fellow followers of Wonosa. This is by and large the extent of their social capabilities at later stages of their transformation however.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The story of the Kitok Massassi begins decades ago with the Atsak Augment, a Sithspawn prosthetic limb which would be given to the wounded warriors of the Order of Wonosa during their early days as an alternative to cybernetics which were in short supply and largely out of their budget at the time. The implementation of the Atsak would be very short lived however as the limb would eventually overtake its wearer and transform them into a mindless beast that craved nothing but bloodshed. Naturally this and other such similar Sithspawn projects would be shelved for quite some time, until the Council of Bogan deemed that things were a necessity once more.

The reason behind their decision being that the already relatively limited pool of Wonosan soldiers was draining far too quickly as they began to spread their efforts thin across various fronts and engagements in an effort to increase their influence within the galaxy and secure the means to raise a proper military force. As such the Atsak Augments would be revisited and heavily revised in order to produce a sort of stop-gap measure to the issue of their experienced soldiers becoming wounded and put out of action, eventually resulting in the far more stable and refined process that would be used to create the Kitok Massassi.

It is deceptively simple and cheap to perform, requiring only a modified bacta tank and containers for the alchemical ingredients as well as samples from the individual soon to undergo the process in order to grow the Sithspawn tissue. The actual procedure itself is little different from an organ or tissue transplant or limb replacement surgery, thus being able to be performed by most medical droids with no modifications needed so long as they have the Sithspawn tissue at hand of course. Yet while this simplicity and the Massassi's combat prowess has made the procedure ideal in many regards, its main complication of being a stop-gap measure does begin to show in the later stages of the condition.

Eventually all who undergo the procedure are typically doomed to transform into an echo of their former selves, their physical appearance becoming unrecognizable and honed for battle as their personality gives way to a feral warrior that seeks to do little more than kill and devour. In this regard, the original fatal flaw of the Atsak Augment hasn't in fact been engineered out at all but instead has been domesticated.
