Woman Yells at Rock

Another small chuckle from Sol. "What else do you call something that exists everywhere all at once? That knows everything and everyone? That connects and binds us all together? Perhaps I do consider The Force to be a god but not in the sense so many view their gods. Most religions I have studied humanize their gods apply thoughts and feelings they can comprehend to them. But if a god could be understood by a mortal then it wouldn't be a god. I said I seek to understand the force but in my heart, I know this is a fruitless endeavour. However, I hope that in pursuing it I will come to understand myself."

When she asks him that question he scowls she'd been doing well but that question shows a lack of understanding of what he said. His presence suddenly vanishes from the force just long enough for him to reach out a hand and flick her forehead with his index finger. "How should I know what you need to be? How should anyone? The force can provide you with a view of a possible future but even then that is only a possibility. I told you don't worry about the future, don't worry about you need to be. Worry about what you want to be and if you want my advice on that I suggest by wanting to be happy and working towards that first."

Letting out an explosive sigh he continues. "You may think now in this moment that you want answers. Yoy may not even care where they come from, you may even wish that someone else would give them to you. If you want that go back to the Sith or the Jedi I am sure either would be happy to tell you how to live your life. Me, I don't care what you do. However, I do think that you will never truly be at peace if you let someone else decide your path. Make your own choice and follow through on it, adjust as you need, and see where The Force takes you."

"It could be a god, but as you point out, sentient beings humanize them. How can the Force know everything and everyone? Nothing is as great as that in my mind. No omnipresent entity, I mean. The Force doesn't control me...ok well it sort of does I guess, but I also control the Force. It does what I want it to do."

To her that sounded like a sith speaking. Dark words of power coming out of her mouth. Words that if spoken by somebody of her people would have brought death in time. Once they said they could control the Force, they were set on a dark path. While her people had no concept of light or dark, they did chaos and evil. Those that went dark were the beings that were executed. Now it sounded like she was one of them, maybe she should just jump over the edge of this waterfall and end her life. She didn't want to die though, she was young and her life in front of her. A love even.

Jumping slightly when he thumped her forehead, she rubbed at it, even though it was more of a shock that actually hurt. Having been lost in her thoughts, she hadn't noticed his movement. The thump drew her attention back to him though and that was what she needed more than dwelling on her thoughts. Her internal confusion was pretty obvious to him and his answer what she may not have wanted to hear. Sol was correct though.

She dare not call him a friend yet, but just being able to sit here and talk with him almost made her want to. Even if this was the only time they met, Jairdain would remember the stranger she met in the woods. The thump combined with his wise words really helped her. Instead of seeking answers within the Force, she should seek them within herself. Nothing external to her would help. On the outside, it might look at if a lightbulb turned on in her.

"It's all rather confused in here and here," one hand would rise to her head and the other over her heart. "I know I don't fit with the Sith and yet I no longer fit the Jedi. So here I was trying to find that balance and happy medium. A place that I do fit. So while it was wrong of me to ask that question of you, your answer helped." As she finished speaking, there was a slight half smile on her face.

"I can't see where the Force takes me though."

A wink followed that statement and the half smile became a true one.

"No one can, not truly." Sol says to her and for the first time his expression changes. It is small, the barest upward quirk of his lips it couldn't really be called a smile but it was the ghost of one maybe. For all his callous bluster he did actually enjoy helping other people. Also, the joke implicit in the blind woman talking about seeing had been pretty funny. Coming to his feet he stretches out his arms.

"If it makes you feel any better, I think most people are confused about where they fit in. I suspect it is less about finding a place and more about making one but, eh what do I know? I'm no wise master just a grumpy old mercenary who likes to sit on rocks." Turning he raises a hand. "Speaking of from what you told me you have a prior claim to this one so I will go and find my own." A brief pause and then. "I hope to meet you again Jairdain it was nice to talk to someone about my crazy ideas." Then like that his presence vanishes from the force and he is gone.

Actually, it takes him a few minutes to be out of visual range but hey, he could dramatic vanish for a blind woman all day.
