Intent: Personal armour for Rave Merrill and very select customers; mediocre, even poor, against all standard weapons, but very good against a small selection of uncommon weapons and abilities.
Development Thread: Tikulini obtained here and here, Leviathan acquisition here and here
Manufacturer: Akure Executive Leatherworks
Model: Witchmaster Armor
Affiliation: Personal to select customers
Modularity: For the most part, no; in some cases, can be swapped out piece by piece with Farwalker armor, acquiring some of the advantages and serious disadvantages of that armor.
Production: Semi-Unique
Classification: Specialized (see Quality)
Weight: 12kg
Quality:
  • Class 3 against combat Force powers directed at the wearer, or intended to remove portions of the armor; also interferes with healing from an external source.
  • Class 4 against blunt trauma.
  • Class 4 against slugthrowers.
  • Class 5 against lightsabres; two strikes in a given area will compromise the armor and lose Rave a limb or something.
  • Class 6 against vibroblades and slashing damage.
  • Class 6 against blasters/lasers.
  • Class 10 against disruptors; sustained fire will cook the wearer.
  • Class 10 against sonic weapons and class 8 against overpressure, due to advanced active-cancellation sonic nullifiers around the head, shoulders, chest and forearms.
  • Class 10 against Force-based interference with the substance of the armor itself, and attempts to analyze it or perceive its nature via the Force.
Special Features:
  • Advanced active-cancellation sonic nullifiers in head, shoulders, chest and bracers.
  • Experimental alchemical hardening, making the armor capable of modest lightsabre resistance and major resistance against molecular alteration, such as disruptor fire, Art of the Small, or alchemical interference. Minimal resistance against Force powers directed at the wearer.
  • Interferes with healing from an external source. Healing complications compounded by the risks and delays of removing armor that might be compressing a wound.
  • Can be worn comfortably with some variant of a Baas Gunbelt.
  • The inner surface of the right bracer has a bracket for a Korriban Compass.
  • Underlay is shell spider silk; resistances have been factored into the above armor classes.

Description: Her powered armor being unsuitable for polite company, Rave Merrill spent a long time pondering a more versatile and flexible suit. Options were limitless; she had made custom armor suits with a wide range of abilities and resistances, including leather armor as strong as beskar'kandar. This time around, however, she opted to sacrifice large portions of her armor's resistance in favor of experimental but comprehensive protection against a handful of well-known 'aces in the hole' - disruptors, Art of the Small, and sonic attacks including overpressure. Disruptors and sonic weapons had long been known as two of the best ways to kill Force-users.

On the theory that she could, in one way or another, put up a fair fight against just about anything else, Rave deliberately downgraded her personal armor's resistance against virtually every common kind of weapon; she is not averse to taking a scar for a victory. The armor is made of layered, alchemically altered tikulini and leviathan skin from Rave's farms on Kyrikal 17, both animals being known for energy resistance. A few elements of alchemized terentatek leather have been included, as a foundation for the armor's resistance to Force interference.

Unlike most of Rave's best-known creations, however, the Witchmaster armor does not depend upon its materials. Though somewhat unimpressive in its common performance, it remains an apex expression of Rave's alchemical skill, largely because it achieves what it does due to the degree of stable alteration and creative extrapolation she has put into the armor. She has, in a sense, turned a sow's ear into a silk purse, deliberately pushing herself far beyond the limits of what are, to her, pedestrian working materials. As such, the armor involves a great deal of bound Force energy, and its structural integrity suffers while exposed to ysalamiri; its special abilities, even more so.

The armor has severe drawbacks, on a regular battlefield facing regular folks.. it ain't gonna help the wearer a lot. What you did is basically create your own 'ace in the hole', which I dig. Approved with the understanding that this armor doesn't grant full immunity against the various weapon effects, sustained force will have negative effects, something severely so.

Now, where is mine?
