Name: Winter Carmilla Angelos

Faction: Task Force G-11

Rank: Rear Admiral

Species: Human - Millennium Preservation Project Recipient (5th Gen)

Age: 27

Sex: Female

Orientation: Bisexual

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 158 lbs

Eyes: Golden

Hair: White

Skin: Pale

Force Sensitive: Yes

Strengths:

Tactical Instinct: Winter was born with a knack for tactics which has been honed to a razor's edge by her instructors at the Naval Academy of the Obsidian Fleet. Her intuitive grasp of battle tactics makes her a dangerous opponent to the unprepared and the overconfident.

Aristocratic Upbringing: Winter is the daughter of a Blood Admiral and has been raised among the other social elite of High Society as a result. She flourishes when among nobility and aristocracy.

Officer's Oath: Winter's word is her bond. As an officer who takes her oaths deadly seriously her reputation for never lying to gain an advantage precedes her wherever she goes, and she can be relied upon to never back down from a promise, never take advantage of others for personal gain, and never lead her troops into anything she herself isn't willing to face.

Weaknesses:

Nepotism: Winter's birthright saw her career shepherded and accelerated at a drastic rate. Her position as a flagstaff officer was due to who she knows, not what she knows, and though she has a dangerous tactical sense she's still woefully green when matched up against old dogs and their older tricks.

Book of Grudges: Winter keeps grudges until they die of old age then she sends them off to the taxidermist to be stuffed and mounted. To forgive and forget is about as difficult for her as cutting off her own hand and it can affect her judgement of others even if later situations require her to approach someone's suggestions without bias.

Imperial Remnant: Winter was raised exclusively in a radical Imperial society, cut off from the rest of the galaxy. The idea of letting bygones be bygones with the direct descendants of the hated Rebellion is something she can hardly comprehend, let alone accept to any degree. She also despises the concept of different fragments of the old Empire existing across the galaxy without uniting into a strong galactic power and she's a zealous advocate of merging ALL imperial-minded governments into a single force once more...whether those governments want it or not.

Droids: A heavily glitched and frustratingly unhelpful large floating black orb with a single red sensor which refuses to give any information about its model type, manufacturer, manufacture date, or any other bit of useful information but which calls itself Krystal, insists that it's a fully sentient warrior queen trapped in the mind prison of an ancient and longdead species, and has a penchant for attempting to hack into the tactical-network of entire fleets and planets as well as attempting to, in its own words, "accidentally murder" anyone who displeases it. The droid insists that it's been part of the Angelos family for almost one thousand years and firmly believes that one "Cassandra" of the line programmed it to "properly tutor" any of her heirs in exchange for "questionable favors to be repaid in each successor's time."

Companions: The Blood Guard, the bodyguards assigned to a child of the Blood Admiralty from birth.

Biography:

Winter Carmilla Angelos, daughter of Ember Se'Ven Angelos, descendant of the Commandant-line of the Blood Admiralty, is a child who's only ever known life at the edge of the galaxy. The Obsidian Fleet, an elusive and powerful Imperial Remnant which has existed in secret since the fall of the Galactic Empire by harvesting resources and personnel from carefully seeded colony systems hidden at the galactic edge and who's leadership is comprised of the matriarchal descendants of the original fleet's commanding officers, has been the community in which she's been raised. Her childhood was spent among other children of the esteemed and noble Blood Admiralty and their clans of the ancient Super Star Destroyer Home-ships which they inhabit. This gave her an extended education of the ways of the aristocratic which would guide her along a career path as one who would eventually take her place on the Board Of Blood Admiralty as the sole child of her mother. Everything in their militaristic society was structured around a need to be prepared for their inevitable return to the galactic stage to reclaim their long lost mantle and even though Winter lived a sheltered life this doctrine ensured that she was properly taught and indoctrinated with everything she would need to serve her Fleet at all times. She was also a 5th Generation recipient of the Millennium Preservation Project, an ongoing medical initiative to prolong the effects of aging by a daunting degree in order to preserve their personnel pool for centuries longer than the average human's mere 70-110 years of life as well as to keep them physically and mentally fit to serve by slowing down and dragging out the aging process within the body. As a 5th Generation recipient Winter's youthful looks physical prowess should, according to the theories of the Obsidian Division Of Medical Advancement, hold well until she's good and ready to keel over of old age a few centuries down the line. Whether or not that's possible remains to be seen however as the Millennium Preservation Project is relatively new and its original recipients in a society of rapid breeders are only in their 130's at the moment.

Like all children of the Blood Admiralty the young girl's privileged life eventually led her to enrolling at the Naval Academy aboard the SSD Weight Of The Crown. One of the three major academies of the fleet and one of only two which were built into one of the SSD Home-ships, it pushed Winter through a grueling and intensive education in the art of combat and command. Being the daughter of an admiral placed a particular prestigious burden upon her which she was expected to live up to and Winter struggled day and night from the age of ten to the age of twenty to achieve the greatness which was expected of her. This in turn engraved an almost disturbingly fervent sense of duty in the girl which, combined with her natural born gift for tactics, quickly elevated her to the top echelons of her graduating class. Unlike many academies throughout the galaxy however this fact placed her in grave danger both for the lethal advanced classes which she was subjected to as well as the various political attempts at assassination, kidnap, and blackmail which all members of the Blood Admiralty are expected to practice within the Academies to prepare them for the life of a flagstaff officer in addition to gaining prestige and advantage for their families while lessening it for the families of others.

After surviving the gauntlet of the Naval Academy young Winter graduated at the top of her class and was presented with the highly coveted and fiercely competed over Crossed Swords Of The Mothers Council during her academy graduation ceremony into Womanhood, which granted her the right to sire heirs with mates from any of the most powerful Blood Admiralty families without child limiting or marriage restrictions; an allowance which would be sure to make her a fiercely sought after companion by the other royal families for both the honor and the power such a union would be sure to bring. With her daughter having gained such a prestigious advantage Ember wielded the fact with lethal grace to gain a stronger support base both in the Board of Blood Admiralty as well as the Mothers Council in addition to forging powerful new friendships with the Fathers Council, the Board of Blood Generals, and opening negotiations with the Star Knight Order and the Church of Valroth. Though her gains were alarming to opposing and even neutral members of the Obsidian Fleet's governments it could hardly be helped; the Crossed Swords was a rare honor which always brought an inevitable shift in the political winds to whomever bore the daughter which gained it.

Winter's career was catapulted forward and she rose through the officer ranks as a starship captain much more quickly than was strictly proper. At the young age of 27 she was promoted into the circle of an Officer Of The White, the third and lowest circle with the Officers Of The Black and the ruling Officers Of The Red being the only things above her. Upon her promotion to a flagstaff officer her mother's political machinations saw her promoted beyond the standard initiatory rank of Commodore and into the rank of Rear Admiral. While not unheard of such a move was typically frowned upon but few among the elite were willing to, openly at least, oppose the desires of the current favorite of the Mother's Council. Thus Winter found herself placed in command of her first squadron aboard her flagship, the Victory-Class Star Destroyer Manticore. Though only a small squadron, Winter loved and respected it with all of her heart and she made a point of earning the trust of her crew and the crews of the ships in her charge. She often invited her officers to dine with her aboard her flagship in order to breed a sense of cooperation and family bonding among them and often saw to it that the enlisted personnel aboard her ships never wanted for supplies or political favors which would have been difficult for them to secure without some sort of patronage...though that of course was a terribly kept secret among the squadron rather than anything she saw fit to boast of.

A little over a year into her career as a flagstaff officer however a civil war erupted within the Obsidian Fleet. The esteemed and highly respected Fleet Admiral Savk, head of the clan aboard the SSD Highborne, leveled charges against the Blood Admiralty of regularly cloning new heirs with superior genetics among the most powerful families, thus ensuring that rule of the Fleet would never pass out of their hands into the hands of the lesser families, and the other non-naval Boards, as was the right of the original Obsidian Charter. Though the Blood Admiralty violently denied it several assassination attempts were made upon the Savk Clan to prevent them from publishing any evidence which they may have gained. Fleet Admiral Savk declared that the entire Board must be held accountable by trial before a military tribunal and rallied members of the various other Boards and Councils to assist him. Many flocked to his banner as Savk embarked upon his crusade of justice, whether it was out of belief in the cause or as a means to gain more power once the current ruling elite were overthrown. Among them was Winter Angelos and her Squadron as her strong sense of duty compelled her to at least hold the Blood Admiralty accountable for lethal obstruction of justice rather than face a tribunal. Task Force G-11 was formed.

Savk's Crusade, as it was coined by different members of the media within the Obsidian Fleet, launched their campaign with ruthless efficiency and speed. The campaign's doctrine called for a swift and victorious war before the Blood Admiralty could recall enough forces to defend themselves. This was meant to ensure that the loss of life was kept at a minimum for the preservation of the Fleet as well as to win public favor and support for their cause. A series of tactical strikes was initiated which kept the loyalist forces spread thin to protect their territory and allowed T.F. G-11 to land heavy handed blows at crucial locations. After only a few months Task Force Command gathered enough intelligence supporting an operation in the Laughing Shadow Nebula which was sure to change the tides of war in Savk's favor and cripple the Blood Admiralty before further large scale casualties could occur.

As an Officer Of The White, Winter was included as the most junior member of TFCOMD and her Squadron placed well in the rear of the fleet deployment. While she disliked the idea of being kept so far from the inevitable glory of front line battle which the Task Force was sure to gain it was only fair due to her position on the bottom of the command ladder, and she did her best to accept it gracefully. Much to her delight Fleet Admiral Savk himself commended her for her honorable behavior; an act which greatly soothed the young girl's feelings...especially since that young girl had a severe case of hero worship of the Fleet Admiral. While the official reason was laid out to her, Savk's private reason for keeping her as a rearguard was due to his suspicions against her mother Ember Angelos and his desire to find out whether this "daughter" was a natural born creation or a genetically tampered clone. He wasn't going to simply throw away the additional firepower and advantage her small but dedicated Squadron represented however and so he had played his cards to carefully stoke her loyalty towards him and his cause.

After four months of careful preparation and brilliant maneuvering, three hundred warships of Task Force G-11, led by the SSD's Highborne, Eternal, and Weight Of The Crown, sailed into the Laughing Shadow Nebula.

Seven ships sailed back out.
