Private Why Would Someone Rob An Antique Store?

Location: The Ruby's Den, Coruscant

Usually one would go rob either a bank, a ship, an expensive shop, casinos, a person, heck even a some kid candy, hence the term like stealing candy from a baby. They're a target for thief due to the credits they roll in or the items they have that would sell for a lot of money, one would get a lot of credits from stealing a ship. But a place one could not fathom a reason to go to, let alone steal from, is an antique store. This is what Private Detective Marcus Carter was thinking of, he looks around his antique store during the day, seeing the mess and glass that was cut through, as his antique store just got robbed.

Carter standing near the entrance where at the side, the glass was cut open, he looks over it as he then turn to his back and look to a big dowutin. "What the hell happened Gronk?", Carter exclaimed as he was quite angry at his head of security at The Ruby's Den, "I left for a few days and when I came back we got robbed?". Carter said loudly as he start to scratch his head due to frustration before he then continued to say, "Even though only the store front got rob and not the den, it's still not a good look Gronk". Carter don't really care that stuff are missing from the antique store as it just a cover up store for the The Ruby's Den, and the thief doesn't seem to care about going into the den, only focusing ransacking through the antique store. This break-in and robbery won't do well for the The Ruby's Den reputation, Carter has not been the owner for too long to gain enough credibility and reputation as one, and this definitely does not help him at all.

He then glared at his head of security, "So?" he said to him waiting for an answer as to what happened. Gronk hesitates before he finally speak and said, "As you know last night wasn't game night, so we didn't have much guard stationed, the guard that was placed here got knocked out a few moments after he stepped out of the backroom so the rest of the guards downstairs had no idea". Carter sigh as he shook his head whilst looking down before he then asked, "So I'm guessing he didn't saw our thief", to which Gronk replied, "Unfortunately no boss". "Damn it!" Carter yelled as he walks towards the desk at the back of the antique store with Gronk following him. Carter took a seat at the desk as he then sigh before saying, "I knew I should have installed some cameras and sensors", he then looked at the dowutin and asked, "Did you call someone to fix the glass?". "Yeah boss, we got someone to come and fix it, we're getting some high end glass so this kind of stuff won't happen again", to which Carter just stare the front of the store and said, "Good...…good...…".

"Need anything else boss" Gronk asked Carter, "Nothing for now, head back downstairs, I'll stay here" Carter said to him with a calm voice. Gronk then went to the back room, and not long after he went to the den downstairs. Carter now beginning to gather his thought and start to think of a reason as to why one would steal from an antique store, the thief seems to be a professional, as he didn't make a noise and even managed to knock out the guard so easily. "Why would someone rob an antique store" Carter asked to himself whilst rubbing his chin, he continued to ponder for now as he continue to sit at the antique store desk looking outside the store.

Glar Ulchtar rarely came to the planet Coruscant, but on this particular morning, that was where he was. He was not too worried about being seen by informants for the Pyke Syndicate, as he was fairly certain that they had little to no presence in this particular area of the planet. Glar was the son of the current leader of the Syndicate, and had been forced to flee after attempting to overthrow his father’s control of the Syndicate. Not too long ago, Glar had a nasty encounter with a Bounty Hunter who had presumably been sent by the Syndicate on the planet Orax. But if what Glar had heard was true, coming to Coruscant would be worth the risk.

There was supposedly an antique store here, where a Holocron had been sighted. Or at the very least, something that looked very similar to a Holocron. Glar was planning to buy it legitimately if possible. There was no need to attract attention to himself by pulling of some convoluted heist. He had learned that lesson the hard way. When he approached the store however, he immediately knew something was wrong.

The main window of the store had been shattered. Carefully avoiding stepping on the glass shards, Glar opened the door and walked into the shop. At the front desk, the desk clerk was speaking on a commlink with someone. As she noticed Glar approaching, she said
“I’m sorry, but I am going to have to call you back, a customer just walked in.” and put down her commlink. “Hello, what can I do for you?” she asked. In response, Glar said “I had heard that you were selling a pyramid-shaped object made out of gold-colored metal and red glass. If you are selling such an item, I would be interested in buying it.” The desk clerk thought to herself for a few seconds, and then said “Well, we did have an item which looked like the thing that you’re describing, but unfortunately, we no longer have it.” “Could you tell me who has it now by any chance?” asked Glar. The desk clerk grimaced, and began rapidly looking around. “Erm… actually I can’t. I was not here when it left the store’s possession.” she said, nervously glancing at the shattered window. At this point, what had happened was fairly obvious to Glar.
