[member="Beatal Sarric"] oh I concur, it's a good character dynamic and one I wouldn't abandon completely. I could see two potential solutions to it. The one that would, in my opinion, make it easier to generate ongoing arcs would be to have Toony release Beatal. They could remain close friends but this does give the creative freedom of being able to have plots that don't need to consider the master character which opens up more freedom, which can be valuable early on. This would also allow you to keep Beatal's backstory as is.
The other option, as you noted earlier, is putting Beatal in the hands of a player master. This could open up some interesting ongoing arcs with whichever player she winds up working for. Though it does require a rather dedicated partner and holds many of the same issues for plotting with others that having an NPC master character does. That being that it is another character to plot around when considering a story.
Of course, take everything I say with a grain of salt. I am just telling you what I think might help you develop future arcs overall, but keep to what you enjoy. Also sorry again for getting off on a tangent, I like discussing things like this.
Anyway fighting over a bounty is something I've done before and it can be quite interesting. Usually, because it's a three-way battle between the two players and the NPC bounty, though it can be hard to strike a balance for the person DMing the bounty. Making sure the other player feels like they have a fair shot without totally undermining your own character. I've also done working on the same job threads, they can be quite good as well offering a nice balance between action scenes and social scenes. I don't have a preference between the two but could certainly make the choice if you'd prefer. However, if you have one you'd like over the other or an idea like over the others then we can do that otherwise I can make some decisions and set something up soon.
