  • Role: Dismantle enemy coordination/operations through merciless assaults and tactical deployment.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Here
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Whispering Swarm
  • Affiliation: Sith
  • Classification: Assault Unit
  • Description: The generic appearance of the Whispering Swarm consists mostly of fully-matured Xenomorphs that maintain their black exoskeletal features, elongated tails and sleek plated skulls. They do not stand present with any known emblems or insignias representing their affiliation, but they do possess shock collars that are used in the event of disobedience.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large
  • Unit Availability: Common
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment: Shock collars

  • Combat Function: The Whispering Swarm serves as a means of bringing disorder amongst the enemies on a battlefield, being deployed in specific groups and numbers to serve towards their purposes. Their execution among the battle can be both extreme and sporadic, changing tactician amongst themselves if not governed, communicating in their complex forms of understanding to cooperate and carry out the tasks at hand.

    RANKS

    Facehugger:
A Facehugger is the product of an Ovomorph which has unfolded its organic petals to release the inhabitant within, to which a large, leathery creature will emerge and scurry along surfaces in search of a host to deploy its embryo. Facehuggers are deployed as a means of crowd control, hatching from their egg sacs to attack any foe with whom they come into contact.

Trilobite: A Trilobite is a large, octopus-like creature which originates from a strange black substance found within an array of vases. In order for it to be appropriately created, the substance must be installed within a living being capable of sustaining its accelerated growth up until it is ready to be birthed. They are grown and deployed in battle to take out larger opponents and creatures which they will then attempt to plant an embryo within, producing further offspring that can benefit the Sith in battle.

Runners: Runners are the most fastest, but weakest, of their swarm, commanded usually by a Warrior or Drone who will command them to be sent further out into the battlefield to attack the enemy in greater numbers. They are generally smaller than Drones, but are capable of getting into smaller spaces and performing ambushes. Runners will usually be transported in smaller crafts behind some form of durasteel barring. They serve to break apart enemy numbers and bring disorder throughout the battlefield, providing the Sith an easier opportunity to move forward in their objectives.

Drones: A Drone is the most common class within the Whispering Swarm, and is deployed mostly deployed under a Warrior who may be dominant enough to command them without the requirements of a Sith. They are exceptionally fast, but are not as strong as their superiors. Most blasters will severely damage them and put them down. Drones will generally be transported inside some form of carrier of cargo vessel.

Warriors: Warriors are often deployed as battlefield commanders who may oversee the Drone class and communicate with them to carry out tactical approaches. They are much smarter, stronger and faster than their lower subjects, capable of taking on multiple individuals at a time. Warriors will likely be deployed with two to three amongst a horde of Drones in order to keep them under a sense of authority. Most preferences and recommendations of transportation would be through a secure cargo vessel. They are designed to take out more intense targets through one-on-one combat.

Domesticated Xenomorph: A domesticated Xenomorph is a Xenomorph which has been specifically singled out to be domesticated through vigorous training, Dathomiri magic or Sith Alchemy, where the creature is trained and subjected to specific forms of combat training. Domesticated Xenomorph are often used for a specific goal, such as maintaining discretion or seeking out a specific target.

Sithspawn Xenomorph: A Sithspawn Xenomorph is the product of Sith Alchemy and genetic engineering which allows the Xenomorph to take on a more aggressive and specific role for combat. Depending on the species used to spawn them, the Xenomorph can possess multiple different heights, aspects and strengths designed to carry out their role for the Sith. While not every Sithspawn Xenomorph will have the ability to command other members of their species they can still be adapted to take on dominant roles, especially those which have been engineered through a Royal Embryo or developed Queen. (A bio may be required for extreme alteration).

Queen: A Queen Xenomorph is the highest ranking creature amongst the generic classes of the Whispering Swarm. Its primary function serves to breed and birth Ovomorphs which can be grown or deployed for battle; however, there are times where the Sith may see it necessary to deploy one in battle. In the event that a Queen is deployed, each Xenomorph around her will fall immediately into her service and prioritise her safety above all else. Her towering height and extra appendages boasts incredible strength and potential for casualty, with a large, exoskeletal protrusion above her crown capable of ramming into objects. Her stature, size and authority make her the most difficult enemy to engage in, as she will quickly be surrounded by her subjects. A Queen can only be transported individually, without any other Xenomorph on board, as her distress will further agitate them and motivate them to cooperate to secure her release.
Strengths:
  • Acidic Blood: An incredible defence mechanism which will initiate in the event its exterior flesh is cut, or any organic tissue is broken.

  • Ferocity: They appear to be ruthless, dedicated killers who will carry out extreme an unexpected methods to deploy themselves against an enemy.
Weaknesses:
  • Fire: For some unspecified reason, they are susceptible to fire and heat, unable to tolerate it for very long.

  • Lack of fear: A lack of fear presents itself a problem in regards to their wellbeing, as they can tend to engage an enemy blindly without considering potential threats around them.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Whispering Swarm were first discovered on board a derelict vessel floating through the Unknown Regions of space by the Sith Darth Tennacus Darth Tennacus and Darth Senthral Darth Senthral whose original eggs were taken back to their facility for further analysis. After failing several attempts to domesticate the generic offspring of the discovered eggs, the Sith turned to Sith Alchemy and Dathomir Magick to bring the later hatchlings to subjugation and instil the Dark Side within them, allowing them to seek comfort in its presence and recognise those who were strong in the Dark Side as allies. Once the Sith had completed their experiments of domestication and obedience, the subjects were placed into controlled environments to demonstrate their capabilities in battle, hunting down captured innocents as well as other lifeforms taken from across the galaxy.

The Whispering Swarm is strictly kept at the facility, Seculus-B, where they can be monitored, organised and altered if and when necessary.

Looking over this it’s really good but it seems you‘re stacking a species submission in this as well.

Both also seem to be missing the Historical information.

To move forward I need you to pull the species submission out and sub that here, using this template.

Tag me when you get that complete and I’ll run through this again.

Hey thanks for replying, I just wanted to ask which bit is being classed as species creation information so I can take it out?

Here I actually have a species creation thread submitted for review. I think I got a bit overdetailed in this thread when I submitted it because I was assuming there may be questions that needed answering. I can take that bit out though and tag the other submission here for relevance, but I just need to know which part to remove.

I'll also update this with a historical portion as well.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Whispering Swarm is a specifically bred assortment of the Xenomporh species whose original eggs were located on board a ruined vessel floating aimlessly within the Unknown Regions of the Galaxy. They serve as combat units deployed by the Sith who raised them, and are released into an environment where they can be unleashed upon any enemies within the area. They compose of several ranks and are distributed in clusters alongside ranking individuals amongst their own species who can command the majority of their numbers through their own methods of communication. They are repeatedly produced through controlled breeding processes, where Royal Embryos will be separated and stored for future developments until another Queen is deemed reasonable to raise.

Hundreds of Common Embryos and Ovomorphs are stored within a secure location of the Sith's choosing, and are used in the event of dwindling numbers.

BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS

Ruthlessness:
These creatures are particularly ruthless in regards to engaging an enemy. Their captive raising often comes with torment to agitate them and keep them in a consistent state of caution, so that they are fuelled by their amplified aggressive nature whenever an opposing species is put before them.

Reasoning: The constant subject to aggression and torment has minimised their ability to reason with anything outside their own species to virtually impossible, unless specifically domesticated or altered. Those deployed on the battlefield are usually expendable, as even the Sith struggle to reason with them, and cannot ultimately bring them all back into order. Shock collars are often deployed on the Warrior and Queen classes given their further benefits, but the Sith will not go out of their way to save them. Those that do survive are eventually tracked and shocked into a weakened state for extraction if they are beneficial in their service. The Force appears difficult to instil upon them, as they are not inherently sensitive to its existence.

Tactician: Despite their almost feral-like aspects, they can express the ability to act as a unit and cooperate with one another.

Self-Thinking: Most of their species are fuelled by aggression which they seek to instil upon an enemy, but there are some among them who may see the benefit in identifying a host which can be potentially useful for the expansion of their species. They might choose to keep an enemy alive to later inhabit an embryo.

Intelligence: Even in early stages of their development, Xenomorphs can possess noticeable traits of intelligence, such as observing their surroundings and finding alternate means of aggressive approach.

OFFENSIVE ASPECTS

Elongated Tail:
Developed Xenomorph possess a broad, narrow-pointed tail with extreme length and manoeuvrability. They can use this weaponised aspect to impale an enemy or lash at them with its blunt, exoskeletal features.

Claws: Developed Xenomorph posses large sharp claws capable of tearing through fabrics, organic matter and most solid materials.

Retractable Tongue: Each class of the Xenomorph used in the Whispering Swarm possess a tongue with can extend out between their maw and snap an enemy within its range. The larger the creature, the larger and longer the tongue can extend, along with an increased strength in the maw attached to it.

Physical Prowess: Most Xenomorph possess exceptional strength and speed, capable of lifting most average sized beings and objects, with the exception of the Queen who can lift and turn physical structures on their sides.

Scaling: Xenomorphs possess the ability to move across vertical surfaces swiftly, allowing them to quickly move between locations and initiate ambushes from unexpected points of execution.

DNA Reflex: DNA Reflex stems from the host parent of the embryo of which the Xenomorph has emerged from. They can appear to carry the traits and physical aspects of their host's species.

DEFENSIVE ASPECTS

Exoskeleton:
The matured Xenomorph possesses a hardened exterior shell which can withstand most blunt objects.

Acidic Blood: The acidic blood of this species is incredibly potent and dangerous, and perhaps their greatest defence mechanism, capable of burning through almost any material it comes into contact with. Most shelled rounds with dissolve within them, along with solid melee weapons.

CLASSES/STAGES/RANKS

Ovomorph
: An Ovomorph may often be deployed on the battlefield in order to deploy Facehuggers, which will scurry along the terrain in search of a host. While they are not used often, their small sizes allow a more tactical approach to wreak havoc upon an enemy and break apart larger forces.

Facehugger: A Facehugger is the product of an Ovomorph which has unfolded its organic petals to release the inhabitant within, to which a large, leathery creature will emerge and scurry along surfaces in search of a host to deploy its embryo. They are exceptionally fast and cunning, and will die once they have successfully deployed an embryo inside a target. Facehuggers also possess the ability to eject a potent acidic substance which is capable of melting through elements such as glass.

Trilobite: A Trilobite is a large, octopus-like creature which originates from a strange black substance found within an array of vases. In order for it to be appropriately created, the substance must be installed within a living being capable of sustaining its accelerated growth up until it is ready to be birthed. Once the creature has birthed, it will continue to grow at an accelerated rate, maturing in a large, octopus-like creature with a large mass of feelers and an abundance of smaller tentacles at its disposal. Its mouth is composed of an array of sharp teeth, with an elongated appendage which shoots out between its maw in order to impregnate a being with its egg. Once the Trilobite has successfully laid its egg, it will die. Its size and proportions make it an exceptional creature capable of dominating larger entities which it can impregnate as a host.

XENOMPORH CLASSES

Drones:
A drone is the lowest class of rank within the Whispering Swarm, and is deployed under a Warrior who may be dominant enough to command them.

Runners: Runners are the most fastest, but weakest, of their swarm, commanded usually by a Warrior or who will command them to be sent further out into the battlefield to attack the enemy in greater numbers. They are generally smaller than Drones, but are capable of getting into smaller spaces and performing ambushes. Runners will usually be transported in smaller crafts behind some form of durasteel barring.

Domesticated Xenomorph: A domesticated Xenomorph is a Xenomorph which has been specifically singled out to be domesticated through vigorous training, Dathomiri magic or Sith Alchemy, where the creature will recognise its owner as a parental figure. They are not wholly hostile unless ordered, or if threat befalls their owner. They tend to stick with the individual commanding them, and abide by their orders. They have the capability of commanding hordes if necessary, but may pose as a potential risk in the presence of a Queen, as they may not recognise her as a figure of authority. This may lead to them being ambushed by untamed Xenomorphs around it.

Genetically-Altered Xenomorph: A genetically ordered Xenomorph is a specific Xenomorph that has been altered genetically through experimentation. These are not seen in great numbers, but the possibility of their existence depends on the will of a Sith who wishes to carry out such alteration (A bio may be required for extreme alteration). These Xenomorphs can have the potential to command greater numbers of lesser subjects within the Whispering Swarm.

It is recommended to sedate her if possible, given her size, stature and aggression. Transporting her would also mean her detachment from the exterior womb and trunk used to birth Ovomorphs.

So this entire section is all about the species and not the unit itself. It’s also formatted like a separate submission regardless. If that wasn’t your intent we can walk through how to fix this, but as it looks right now, it looks like two submissions in one, and I wanted to get that part figured out so I know how to help get this moving for you.

Yeah I can see how that appears more relevant to something seen in regards to information for a species and not a unit, apologies for that. It wasn’t my intention to make it appear like that I thought I’d add the additional information for relevance.

Let me go over it tomorrow when I’m available to edit it and I’ll tag you when I’m done if that’s alright? I’m happy to hear of any suggestions you might have in detailing relevant information though if it’ll help me make the process easier.

Absolutely okay! Just keep in mind a couple things as you edit.

First you need to use all the fields in the template. So make sure the historical information gets in.

Second your image credit links to a Google search. You’ll need to link that to the actual source/site you found it.

Address those two things and that will certainly move this along quicker.

Would you mind taking another look for me? I've tried to take out the information that makes my submission not appear as a species submission, but please let me know if I've missed something out or not removed something that isn't relevant to the thread.

Thanks!

This seems to be much better. Maybe add rank above the Strengths and Weaknesses but that’s just me being picky most likely.

Your image credit, is Pinterest the only place you can find it?

I think we’re good to go just wanted to double check on that claim first.
