OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Whispergift Parasite
  • Designation: Semi-Sentient
  • Origins: Alchemically grown in Hive-bioreactors at the Eidolon Vault
  • Average Lifespan: 4–7 years (linked to host viability)
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description:
The Whispergift Parasite is a tiny, semi-sentient organism designed to bond to sentient hosts. It integrates into the nervous system and draws from the Force of Mr. Usher's hive-mind (and thus, the force sensitives he has consumed) to grant minor Force capabilities. Once implanted, it creates a psychic link with the host and leaves a sigil-like scar. Cults such as the Choir Below worship it as sacred, though Mr. Usher intended it as a tool—not a totem.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Anaerobic (Does not require atmosphere)
  • Average Height of Adults: 0.005 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: 0.03 meters
  • Skin color: Pale, translucent pink with hints of red or bioluminescent blue
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions:
    • Tiny, curled worm-like bodies with sensory filaments
    • Once attached, forms a mark or sigil on the host’s neck or spine
    • Glows faintly when actively communicating with the Hive
    • Behavior is reactive to Mr. Usher’s emotions, broadcasting urges to hosts
  • Races: None (artificially cloned with minor alchemical variance)
  • Force Sensitivity: All – Parasites themselves are offshoots of Mr. Usher made subservient to the host, to grant them the ability to use a portion Mr. Usher's force as if it were their own.

Strengths
  • Synthetic Force Access: Allows non-Force sensitives to exhibit minor Force powers (illusions, telekinesis, emotional sensitivity, battle calm, brief precognition).
  • Hive Conduit: Hosts gain telepathic communication and emotional modulation from Mr. Usher’s hive network.

Weaknesses
  • Remote Vulnerability: Mr. Usher can locate, disable, or terminate the parasite at will, cutting off the host’s abilities.
  • Force-Purging Susceptibility: Easily detected or removed by trained Force users via purification, Force severance, or crude surgery.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Bioelectrical impulses, neurotransmitter residue; fully dependent on host neural substrate
  • Communication: Emits low-frequency psychic pulses interpreted through the host’s cognition. Non-verbal.
  • Technology level: N/A (engineered species; does not build)
  • Religion/Beliefs: None internally; often mistaken as divine by members of the Choir Below cult
  • General behavior:
The Whispergift exhibits no social structure. It implants, bonds, and transmits. It can enhance or suppress neural patterns to influence mood and decision-making. Some evolve minor predictive behaviors, anticipating danger or guiding hosts toward hive priorities. In long-term cases, the parasite’s behavior begins to mimic “devotion,” syncing fully with Mr. Usher’s ego imprint.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created by Mr. Usher after the conquest of Ka’thaa’rahn, the Whispergift was meant to bypass biological limitations of the Force by distributing power through the Hive. Engineered from alchemically refined tissues and entechment-adapted organics, it was the first living artifact capable of transmitting Force-like abilities to non-sensitive beings.

While initially intended as a research vector for synthetic Force theory, the Whispergift was quickly seized upon by those with dogmatic proclivity. Many interpreted its effects as divine revelation. Mr. Usher has since tried—and largely failed—to contain its mythos. Though it remains a closed-market and selectively deployed creation, its existence has seeded rumors across the galaxy of a new patron power: one who speaks through flesh, watches through dreams, and grants endurance in exchange for obedience.

This species I was originally intended as a factory biotech implant but was redirected to the codex. The strengths and weaknesses are be applicable to the host/User than the parasite itself. Original factory submission here.
