  • The button that turns this shield on and off can be added to any arm or wrist piece, as well as any hand held weapon, or armor. However, it cannot stand alone or be constantly turned on.
  • When not absorbing damage, if the shield is left to run, it will hold for about fifteen minutes before needing to be recharged.
  • The goal of the shield is to absorb short bursts of either energy or power.
  • The shield will gradually bleed the energy it's absorbed over a short period of time while not in use.
  • Default color is pink, but individuals may opt to use another color.

  • Capable of absorbing short bursts of hits by kinetic force, blasters, lightsabers, and many forms of weapon, over the course of a handful of seconds.

  • Sonic or EMP/ION attacks have a high chance of undoing this shield even when turned off.
  • While the shield protects against various forms of attack, it does utterly nothing for things such as wind, rain, or a long list of other forms of damage.
  • Shield battery empties quickly. Taking time between usages is recommended.
  • This shield is not a stand alone. Additional protection is highly advised.
  • Although the shield is great at withstandig the various damage over a short period of time, it can still be overloaded; sometimes, there just are too many hits, and sometimes, even the best of shields can't protect you from a ship falling on your head. If the shield overloads, one would require a good mechanic, or get a new shield.

After Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter joined the Agents of Chaos, her company, Whimsy, became much busier and active. As she set to bring many of her former blueprints to life as well as create new ones, she realized that many of her weapons had an element that kept reoccurring in them – the molecular shield, which she had first created when she'd made a sword for the Knights Obsidian.

Taking the blueprint and adding a few small improvements to it, Whimsy now had a shield that would be easy to add to any future products, its factories ready to create copies of the model as per need.

Naturally, as any Whimsy product, the default color of the shield was pink, but that was simple enough to alter for those who wished for it. The shield's main purpose was to block incoming attacks of force, mostly brute force but also lightsabers and blaster shots. The shield was meant to be an additional feature to other things, and not be a stand-alone on its own. For that, Whimsy had other plans.

You mention force here, do you just mean physical forces, or as in, Force powers that can be thrown at you such as a TK push, or Force Lightning?

[member="Vigil Rostu"] Thank you for looking this sub over :) I meant physical force - say an enemy charges at you, or someone uses TK to throw something heavy on you rather than trying to use the TK directly on you. Would there be a better word to use here to avoid confusion down the line?

[member="Scherezade deWinter"],

No not at all. Right now, I am just covering base with you. This seems like a highly effective form of a Dueling shield from canon, with a little extra power in its defensive capabilities, a little larger and a battery life. It seems balanced enough to me, that I have no problems at all passing this off.

Enjoy making a phalanx line of pink shields in the future!

I know its clarified in Darren's queries above, but please can you add the word 'kinetic' before the word force here, just so we can avoid any misunderstandings. You've also got a typo in the mix - may instead of many.

I'd also ask that you clarify how long the shield is active for - i.e. is it a few second burst or does it run for much longer periods? If so, how long assuming it isn't being attacked.

Addittionally, what happens to the energy absorbed by this shield as it presumably has to go somewhere? Does it bleed off gradually? Can the shield be overloaded if too much energy is absorbed in a short period of time?

Lastly, you reference a molecular shield submission in the description that you previously built. Please can that be linked in the primary source section.
