When Rescue is Spelled E-S-C-A-P-E (Invite)

Ali nodded and led Ric down the rocky wall and beneath the outcropping of stone that jutted Southward over their heads. The shrubbery grew densely here, and did a fine job of hiding them from view while the outcrop of rock protected them from being spotted from the air. Ali crouched to one knee and set down her rifle for a moment, slinging her gear pack from her shoulders and setting it down. She then took off her helmet so she could better commune with Ric. Reaching for the rifle again, Ali brought it up to her eye and glanced through the scope, which also relayed itself to the HUD of her buy'ce.
"Alright, so the crash site is about seven klicks away, just a little under maybe. See that large horn?" Ali asked, pointed to the pyramidal-shaped rock jutting up from the forest. "That's almost ten klicks out. The crash site is against that far slope leading up to the horn." Ali began describing the rest of the terrain features. "From where we're at, we'd have to traverse down this slope about four kilometers before it began leveling out. There's a curt valley at the bottom with a glacial river flowing through it before the slope turns up again and towards that horn. So we'll be at lower elevation down there, but still within the glacial area." Ali looked around, the snow pack was fairly dense, and the forest was coated a brilliant blanket of white all around. "We'll post up here for a while and wait. Give it a few hours, if no one shows, we can make our way down and be back up here by dawn, before any daylight patrols get sent out. We need two things, the energy core you mentioned, and we need to send a distress signal to the Republic from the downed ship, if the comm's package is still working." Ali looked to Ric, "It's gonna be a long few hours, get some rest."

Lurcano Car'dann

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Objective: Investigate Origins of Scout Ship
Location: Transport Ship
Allies: Shiro De'vol

Lurcano just shrugged his shoulders as if to say, 'Suit yourself.' He heard the ship that Shiro was undoubtedly talking about land in the distance, and Lurcano wasted no time in moving into action. He stepped onto his transport ship, and told the pilot to take him to the coordinates that had been wired to him from the ship that was currently orbiting Tython. After a few minutes of calibrating a few different instruments that Lurcano really couldn't be arsed to deal with; the ships engines started and they were flying through the air to the location of the second crash site. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Mandalorian and his strange Storm Beast walk across the hills, presumably towards the ship that they had stored away.

After a little more then a hour of travel, he heard the pilot's voice come in over the sound of the wind whipping past their ship. He looked outside the window and saw a small opening in the treeline. Their landing took a few minutes as the pilot attempted to maneuver their ship so that they could land without causing any damage to their hull. The trees made everything problematic. While they did this, they would be easily seen by anyone who cared to observe them. Once they landed, Lurcano stepped outside and moved to study the wreckage and see what he could find in its remnants.

Ric nodded. The waiting game is what they were playing now, and there was no sense in expending a lot of energy. The more rest he got now, the better his ankle would be by the time they had to get moving. The snow surrounding them was beautiful, very much so. Too bad they weren't there to enjoy it. Whoever thought it was a smart idea to cut through Sith space to get back to the Republic.

Nestling into a rock that seemed almost contoured to his body, Ric let the blankets he had keep him warm. About right this moment, he was wishing he was a mando and had some beskar'gam. Also, he was making a mental list of every woman in his black book he was going to call up once they got back to the Capitol.

There was light conversation for about an hour before Ric finally just shut up and stayed quiet. He never fell asleep, but he did rest well. The cold of the snow had helped the swelling in his ankle. It felt fully healed by this point, and Ric was ready to head down the slope.

"Alright Ali, let's do this. The ankle is much better!"
