Faction When Light meets Darkness (THR, Jedi)

The High Republic.

It was a novel concept. He knew that the galaxy was constantly in shift. He had served and helped create a Galactic Alliance once before, to go against the One Sith. The new Alliance was different, but this High Republic? It was against the Sith, and it was near his old stomping grounds. Wild Space, Tingel Arm, and the Outer Rim… When he heard from Jared what they were doing, the Jedi Master made his way back towards the worlds. He had added Kattada into the Enclave Network, something he always supported.

But today?

Coren Starchaser had made his way to the Jedi Order Temple of Naboo. And had set up a class to teach the experienced Knights and Masters what he knew of Force Light. It was a power that many didn’t seem to understand. So many Jedi Orders, including the Silvers had used it as a last ditch effort. But toning the power down? Bringing it into a place where a Sith or Dark Jedi would use Darkshear, something Coren knew too much about from his time before carbonite. The power of Force Light could be used to send the light side right at a dark siders, and push them back.

Wearing his Kattada robes, Gold and white with turquoise accents, his pair of lightsabers in holsters, the one with the Starchasers Light, a teal blade, in the bandolier across his chest, the ancient Starchaser relic blade, a yellow saber, on his hip, in its holster.

“Welcome Jedi. I do hope you’ve done the reading…”
A small datacron had been issued with a small how-to. Focus on emotions that help others, compassion, love, protection, and to use them in a way one would think of telekinesis, focus the effort, the determination, the drive, and shape the Light how you need it.

Heavy metal foot steps sounded aloud. Thump, thump, thump.

Rhythmic in flow and rather deliberate. Thus far there was no figure to match the steps, that was, in till the heavily armored frame entered inside. Ducking underneath a arch way, one in which the titan dwarfed, the alien made his was into the adjacent training area and raised a brow.

Reading? What reading? He thought to himself and looked around to check if he was not alone in that feeling. From what he saw...he was.

"Ahem. Reading? For?" A deep voice sounded out in question.

Another day in the Shiraya Sanctuary and a J-1 Shuttle came back into the Hangar Bay, docked successfully and three teenaged Padawan Learners were making their way out. It was the Larsen students coming back from another venture they looked out for one another and studied, trained with each other consistently.

"Hmm seems there's a gathering going on. Let's check it out. Wonder what's up."
Kas said to his siblings.

Caden stood at the right of Kas as they were walking out the shuttle headed for the Temple. He noticed quite a few Knights and Masters were heading to the gathering. "Huh I dunno Kas let's go."

Kharis followed her two brothers out of their shuttle to head inside of the classroom where Jedi Knights and Jedi Master were gathering among themselves. "Might be a class guys. Best listen in and learn."

Kas accompanied by Caden and Kharis they took their places inside of the classroom ready to listen and learn. The young Jedi wondered if his master Jedi Knight Aiden Porte Aiden Porte might attend. Kas had his hand down towards his utility belt to get out his commlink device to send a ping to Aiden.

Caden was the first of the trio to begin reading and going over the information that Jedi Master Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser had issued out the data crystals and holocrons for all attendees to use. "Force Light wow..."

Kharis was more combat oriented with her body, weapons but was starting to determine certain abilities in the Force shouldn't be shunned aside. "Huh. Definitely will want to learn, practice and use this."

Kas was in agreement this could be something that can help in his future to become a Jedi Shadow that would combat against the Dark-side either in artifacts and individuals who possess it. He wondered if other Jedi such as Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren and Bastila Sal-Soren Bastila Sal-Soren were coming to this class.

On the binary continuum of 'do' versus 'do not,' Tilon was 89% sure that no matter what he did, up to and including going back to the Valley of the Jedi and/or getting Master Starchaser to mind-trick some confidence into him, any attempt he made at Force Light would fall under the 'do not' column.

He showed up anyway, because Naboo was one of the Jedi temples he hadn't visited and he'd wondered for a while about the new (not New) Jedi Order. Their values, priorities, aesthetics, loadout. Thread count of the burlap. The usual metrics.

So far, no familiar faces other than Starchaser, who'd visited Kattada some of the same times as Tilon, and who'd been a peer of his father. He offered a friendly but unimposing smile to Dezorath Barcu Dezorath Barcu and to Kas Larsen Kas Larsen and his siblings.

He had done the reading, for all the good it would do him.

Aileni entered the training, looking around and noticed there were already a few students and the teacher for the class already in attendance. Aileni was still finding his way around the temple and learning about the new teachers that would show up to teach a group class. It wasn't something he had expected to be a thing but they were interesting and allowed him a chance to learn things away from his Master, Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard . Which he figured was a smart move to make since he suspected Lorn would be the first to say that you couldn't learn everything from a single teacher, especially since there was so much to learn out there in the galaxy.

Adjusting his brown hoodie, Aileni entered the class silently and heard mention that there was reading that had to be done. His vivid green eyes lit up in surprise as the young Padawan had not done any reading in preparations for the class. His hand started scratching at the base of his neck, wondering how he was going to cope with the class if he didn't do the reading preparations for the class. Also, who assigns reading for a single lesson?! Aileni was shocked to discover that was something to be aware of.

For now, Aileni hoped to just remain quiet, in the background of the class as he attempted to listen to everything being discussed and hoped, prayed that would be enough for Aileni to just squeak by without being caught on the fact he had not read anything before attending.

Even as a Jedi Knight, his talent for punctuality could've been so much better. However this time it seemed he arrived in good fashionable timing. He had receievd a notification from his Padawan Kas Larsen Kas Larsen and responded promptly advising him he would be there momentarily. Force Light was something Aiden was not unfamiliar with. His father had a strong talent in that field and while he wanted to. Aiden never got the chance to full develop or work on the ability.

Now as the perfect timing, as Jedi there was always room for improvement and the learning never stopped. That was something that was ingrained in him since he started on the path of a Jedi.

Aiden noted a few people and several that he recognized. He gave a small greeting to the collective group before he looked towards Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser and a small respectful bow of his head.

Soon, the learning would begin.

Tilon noticed Aiden Porte Aiden Porte , recognized him from certain holos, and went over, unable to assuage his curiosity.

"Excuse me," he said, "I'm hoping you could solve a question that's bugged me for years. I've only ever seen it in writing so I don't actually know — how does your family pronounce its name? Is your father Kan Port, Kan-eh Port-eh, Kan-ay Port-ay, or all of the above?"

His money had been on Kan Port-eh for a while but certainty eluded him.

After Kas received a response from his master, he gave a nod over to Caden and Kharis. Indicated that Aiden would be coming to this session. Sat with his siblings ready to listen and take in the information that the Jedi Master was hosting. Coren seemed to give the Larsen trio the impressions of a experienced and very wise individual that would have a lot to share, teach and train others in.

"Hey master, glad you could make it."
Kas said as he noticed Aiden coming inside of the classroom.

Took note of the other, fellow Jedi that were in the class ready to learn the Force ability. This is the first time he has seen Dezorath Barcu Dezorath Barcu , Aileni Ifor Xeraic Aileni Ifor Xeraic and Tilon Quill Tilon Quill be good to interact with them.

This was not his preferred place. Coren Starchaser was very rarely, even in his heyday of being part of the Orders, a classroom setting teacher. But he didn’t have the time to bring his gifts and lessons to everyone at the point of a battle. No. Coren had left that life behind him and was seeking to repair some of the rifts he had caused. Or, at least help in some way.

Re-establishing hyperlanes. Moving Force sensitives to remote locations. Helping Jedi network through the Academies and Enclaves. Kattada was set up to run without him by now, but there were so many Jedi that were locked in their own enclaves, that a traveling tour of this lesson was probably in order. But the sooner he could return to his post in Xelec, the better. Others were there, other navigators, but he wanted to be on site.

But first things first.

Looking to the gathered, Master Starchaser took another deep breath. Centering himself.

“Well, the lesson plan.” He stated to the Gen’Dai. Seeing the others, he had some assumptions on who had prepped before attending. He had an inkling that Quill had it printed on flimsiplast and highlighted parts.

“What I am going to be teaching you today, is how to harness that polar opposite of what the Sith will throw at you. Its a powerful Force ability that is tricky to learn how to use accurately, and even trickier to make it do exactly what you’re hoping for. You may have seen it from any other lesson, where groups of Jedi can amass the light into a column or a wall, for protection or specific attack. What I’m going to show you is something much weaker, but no less useful.

“Force Light is taking those powerful, and good emotions, and pushing them into the Force. Pushing that drive all Jedi possess. Force Light has two major uses, destroying dark side artifacts, but also weakening a dark sider’s connection to the Force. If you can attain that first step? To cast the Light Side at a dark sider that weakens their connection? You’re doing more than most.”
Coren moved his hands, and a glow was coming from both hands. The gathered would feel a sense of calm, or warmth.

“But once you learn more? You can direct and shape the Light. Into a shield, or even a ray.” Coren moved his hands, showing a shield of Force Light, something he knew could stop a Darkshear, and then threw his hand out, casting the light into the wall, with a concussive force. And if the wall was dark sided? A much more explosive force.

"Questions? If not, lets see what you all can do!"
