Private When God is Gone and the Devil Takes Hold (complete)

Location: Coruscant - Artisan District : Alley Behind The Crafty Candle Shop

The scene was lit with flash photography snapping at rapid intervals. Bystanders were carefully placed behind the yellow police tape so as not to compromise the scene. Holly was one of those bystanders, albeit one with a press pass. She wasn’t the only journalist looking for a scoop, but she was the only one the lead detective had a sweet spot for. He’d asked her out twice already but Holly had never accepted. Still she wondered if that attraction might be worth a quote or at least a hint at what was happening.

When the police started to walk back towards their cars Holly slipped under the tape and headed in the mans direction.

“Detective! Detective can I have a word?”

He motioned for his partner to keep walking and smiled at Holly.

“For you I’ve got two words. Dinner Saturday?”

Holly smiled but she wasn’t distracted that easily.

“I meant a word about this case.”

His demeanor changed immediately. He shook his head and looked all around to make sure nobody was around.

“You know I can’t doll face. “

“I won’t use your name.”

He hesitated and shook his head again but her big blue eyes won him over.

“The body was covered in wax okay? But you didn’t hear it from me.”

“Wax? Outside a candle shop?”

“Yea it’s a real thinker. Now that dinner?”

“I’ll check my schedule and get back to you.”

Holly was barely paying attention as her mind kicked into overdrive. A body covered in wax found behind a candle shop? There had to be a message there. Had wax been used in the actual murder?

Who did she know in the city morgue these days …

"No, no. I don't think it's rigor mortis."

Carefully the Diener cleared away a lining of wax encasing the body's fingers. The muscles in the fingers relaxed and the joints could be heard popping as the technician moved the hand back and forth.

"You see what I'm getting at? Clearing away the wax lets the fingers move freely, so the time of death you came up with is way off. The only reason the fingers were stiff was that the wax held them in place."

Gasping a red-skinned humanoid seemingly a Zeltron began scribbling on her arm with a black marker both of her arms lined with cursive and many other inscriptions that turned her limbs into a ruined monstrosity filled with equations about skin and muscle decay and scant tips on how to properly prepare a genital for inspection.

"Yes...YES! I understand now! Doctor Fustra you truly are a genius ahead of your time!"

Retreating to a dark corner of the room, Doctor Frustra buried his face in his knees as he squatted next to an open body drawer. His bad habit going off again the doctor began scratching the sides of his face scraping away the rough dry skin generated from the blood constantly leaking from the doctor's face.

"Every day that I spend here I fall deeper into madness. I cannot endure like this. Maybe I can run away? Find a deserted island and start a new life with a beautiful woman named Patricia who later dies in her sleep of pneumonia...."

Whenever the mumbling starts, Wen Doctor Frustra's faithful assistant knows to inch toward the door lest she is caught up in the madness that always ensues...too late. Wen was quickly grabbed by the shoulders and shaken to and fro as Frustra went on another one of his mad ramblings.

"Wen my dear! Please come with me on a magical adventure where my wisdom can be departed onto you in even greater ounces! All that I require is your unconditional love and for you to change your name to Patrica!" He may seem out of order but the doctor meant well with his work and when he wasn't going on tirades like this Frustra was very intelligent and an indispensable asset.

"IT'S SETTLED! AFTER WE ANALYZE THIS BODY WE'RE MOVING TO SCARIF!"

"YEAH!"

"YEAH!"

"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!"

Their screaming match in full force the Doctor almost didn't notice footsteps coming from down the hallway their pattern and weight are something only a GENIUS like him would consistently take note of. "That's gotta be Holly..."

Holly was walking slowly down the stairs to the morgue when she heard screaming. Usually this would be a bad thing but in this case it meant luck was with her and her contact was on duty tonight. Frustra was a brilliant man but he was as eccentric as they came. Some said hw was actually crazy and thus looking at eccentric in the rear view mirror but Holly thought the interactions were worth it. The good doctor had helped her out on more than one occasion.

Eventually she reached the cold metal doors that lead to the morgue. A sinking feeling hit her stomach at the thought of dead bodies but Holly didn’t scare easily. She took a deep breath and walked inside.

“Doctor Frustra? It’s Holly Starstorm. I heard you got a weird one in?”

Once again, Frustra's genius had served him well again in preparing him for his most frequent (and only) contact in that of, Holly Starstorm Holly Starstorm . "Yes a strange one indeed. A rather morbid art project if I do say so myself." The doctor stepped aside to allow, Holly a view at the body though most of it save for the limbs and head was still covered in wax. There was a huge wax filled gash running down the torso of the corpse and an agony filled expression plastered on the poor man's face.

"Definitely a premeditated occurrence. Whoever this was took the time and effort to cut the victim open and pour wax both in and outside of his body. The wax had time to harden despite the fact the victim was struggling so we suspect more was poured on once all internal organs had been burned beyond repair. NOW WEN!"

Frustra pointed toward a mini-fridge on the other side of the room. "Bring me an ice cold cola and the fair Holly...The Jar..." Wen looked at the doctor with wide eyes silently pleading with Frustra.

"Don't give me that! You know why you aren't allowed to have soda on the job anymore!"

"It was an accident!"

"Can it! You spilled so much soda in that body it was more accurate to say there was blood in his SODA STREAM!!!"

Wen knew she couldn't argue especially considering Frustra took the fall for the whole incident. Tossing a blue can across the room, Wen went for the jar just as the same beverage was tossed at the back of her head. "Throw that blasphemous diet garbage in the trash where it belongs!" One could almost see the anger steaming from, Wen as she slammed the can on the table and slid The Jar over to Holly.

"Look inside. They're eyeballs."

Frustra opened the can with a hiss and drained it down the hatch. "She's going to need more explanation than that Wen!" Frustra having finished his drink crushed the can and threw it to Wen for her to throw away. "When we first started examining this thing we found that the eyes had wax behind them meaning someone took them out and carefully slid them back in. Same goes for all of the organs I mentioned. We're dealing with a medical specialist here. One who decided to kill via wax treatment. They left shortly after the murder and left nearly no trace. They were quick, precise, had impeccable timing and even went to the trouble of stitching together the body after they were finished. I'm not going to lie here..."

Frustra stared peeling away the side of his face once more. "They MIGHT even be close to being a smart as me."

Holly wasn’t one to scare easy and she wasn’t exactly squeamish, but still as she approached the body closer she found herself moving slowly and holding her breath. A million scenes from zombie holo flicks raced through her mind as she knelt down and saw that the doctor had carefully removed wax to show the anguished look on the mans face.

Talk of “the jar” would have been frightening enough but when the good doctor threw the can Holly actually jumped. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She needed to get it together. She was a professional after all.

But the acts the doctor was describing… they made her skin crawl.

“Have there been any other strange bodies recently? The type of thing you’d need medical knowledge to produce?”

Even as she asked she was running through the contacts she knew at Coruscant General. Perhaps the killer had tried this before but wasn’t so successful. Maybe even a victim got away but the emergency room didn’t notice it for what it was? What if this was a string of murders and Holly could land an interview with the killer?

Whoa… slow down. She shook her head. She was getting ahead of herself and like always she was throwing herself recklessly into a situation that could be super dangerous. Of course she was going to do it anyway but she could at least pretend to struggle with the decision.

“You’ve been a real help Doc. I’m going to see if there have been a good other crimes involving wax. It’s pretty specific. It might even be a signature.”

“Have there been any other strange bodies recently? The type of thing you’d need medical knowledge to produce?”
The doctor became lost in thought for a moment thinking about all the bodies he's cut up over the years. This sort of question always made him think of not just the evidence at hand but all the evidence he's seen over the years. People torn apart at the waist, lovers pumped up on poison that boiled the blood and weakened the body, children blackened and charred their skin and muscles torn apart by intense heat. He wondered just how much death he's seen before and just how much he'll see after.

"Well since you mentioned it...there was this body the other day that had its heart stitched to the outside of their chest with a kitchen knife driven into it. This time however instead of wax there was glue inside the person Other than the stab wound the heart was completely intact and the chest cavity was sealed shut by a surgeon's laser like the one I use. WEN!"

Quickly the Zeltron tossed the laser across the room, Frustra's irritated hand catching it with care.

"WEN! This is highly sensitive equipment! You can't just throw it around! I COULD HAVE BURNED MY FINGER OFF!"

"I am truly sorry, Doctor!"

"NOT good enough! Come over here! I'm gonna demonstrate the danger of a laser. On you."

"Stay. Over. There. Did you take your meds?"

"I'm tired of taking those! Now come here!! I'm gonna carve a smile into your FACE!!!"

“You’ve been a real help Doc. I’m going to see if there have been a good other crimes involving wax. It’s pretty specific. It might even be a signature.”

"Oh...well alright then. Oh, but there is one thing you should know. Whoever this killer is, they seem to have easy access to medical equipment only geniuses like me should be able to get a hold of. Keep that in mind."

"Be safe, Holly. Any one of us could be next."

Holly hesitated, clearly uncertain if she should leave. The doctor wasn’t taking his meds and that was an issue. Was he possibly a suspect? And what did glue have to do with wax?

As she pondered these thoughts she heard footsteps coming from down the hall. It was probably detective Relan Dredec Relan Dredec coming to interview the doctor.

If there was something to be going on, happen, or about to happen, a good man to turn to was Relan Dredec.

Despite his rather criminal appearance, with a nose broken many times and a rather large forehead, not to mention the litany of tattoos, he was a very intelligent man and a very forward thinking person.

Normally undercover, Relan had instead been asked by CorSec to come back in a more official capacity to help with the investigation.

Needless to say, he didn't like the crime scene, about as much as he liked going to the medical examiner's. Both were equally disturbing. One was just a little cleaner.

Relan entered the room, glancing at Holly and the doctor, avoiding the assistant.

"Doctor. Relan, I'm one of the investigators assigned to this place. Can you tell me anything specific about the victim? Can't get a good ID yet."

The implication of it all made Relan's skin crawl. Coruscant was a big place- CorSec was already going through mountains of footage, IDs, and manifests of passengers in that and this transport. Every minute they spent not close to a connection was a minute longer the killer could get away. In a city that spanned an entire planet, it was relatively easy to hide, much easier to disappear. Finding an abandoned building- hiding out in one of the ruins from the previous battles here.

It was always such a pain to find someone.

But Relan was good at that.

He was like a dog in that regard- a hound of the law, despite his appearance.

(Sorry for the wait and short reply had a lot going on this week)

Frustra eagerly eyes over the newcomer his rather imposing appearance nothing new in this line of work. He wasted no time getting straight to his questions which had its own respects tied to it. A busy man and one who probably didn't have time for someone as eccentric as Frustra.

"Ah yes! Specifics! Specifics! The bread and butter of any good case!" The doctor once again began tearing away at his temples splattering blood onto his collar. "We know that the victim wasn't very popular. He was fired for excessive violence, He supposedly cheated on his girlfriend, he eats at that Sullistian restaurant down the street...just a genuinely deplorable individual. His name is...Ummm...WEN!!" Quickly the assistant lifted the body's foot and examined the stage attached to its big toe.

"His name is Morris Drań. Real pice of work this..." Wen started mumbling under her breath but by now the Doctor had quit listening.

"Yes, that was his name. This Morris is said to live on level eighteen not astounding but not terrible either considering some of the things I've heard about the lower levels. Oh and one more thing if it helps..." Frustra ran his fingertips along the side of the man's head gently touching his hair. "Victim recently got a haircut. Nothing super strange but every little bit helps."

Holly had started inching towards the door as soon as the detective had arrived. She did not want to stick around and be told to step aside for law investigators. The police sometimes didn’t like to work with journalist.

As she edged out of the room she caught the doctors final remarks and bit her lip, trying to decide if she should stick around. Finally she decided to leave the doctor and the detective to their own devices. The two could discuss the case more if they wanted but Holly was safer pursuing a few leads before the cops shut her down

After a quick speeder ride she was at the site of Coruscant General, the biggest hospital on the planet. If there were any other victims or strange cases they should be here.

She went inside and over to the reception desk.

“Hello, yes I was wondering if a representative had a moment to speak with me about a case that came through here?”

She handed over her press badge and waited to see, trying to think if she knew anybody working on the inside

Melolei had been quietly waiting for an answer from the reception desk, her lips curled tightly to keep from asking the same question again. The same one she had asked half an hour ago. And another hour before then. She had signed up for an optional class through her temp agency. Something that would tack on a few extra creds to her hourly. And while she wasn't exactly the greedy type, there was always her father's favorite saying that came to mind.

Creds made the galaxy a whole lot easier to live in.

Only problem was that today the doctor overseeing the class had been tied up with something else, and had pushed her tight schedule into something of a bungled mess of hectic calls and profuse apologies before coming back inside to see when the next available class could be scheduled.

She didn't want to waste this chance to be a "certified" emergency first aid member for the temp agency. Not when the class was at no cost to her, and especially when it added so many lovely credits to the decent wage she was already making.

The doors opened, and her eyes glanced over to see a familiar face come strolling in to the hospital. Her mouth opened just a little in silent awe. She hadn't expected to see journalists anywhere. Never mind a hospital. The question that was asked seemed a bit strange, but it lined up with her interrupted class time all to well to be a coincidence.

Was this what Dr. Avluv had been griping about? They'd been asked to confer about a few medical details in private, but the doctor had been more than willing to vent to someone that had no bearing on their career when break time hit.

She waited quietly for Holly to walk away from the desk, stealing glances at the reporter from her spot in the waiting area, not wanting to draw attention from the staff behind the desk with speaking on something the doctor had been keen to swear her to secrecy on.

Coruscant General - Emergency Med Bay 2

emiliano-cordoba-coruscant.jpg

It seemed at best a fairly quiet day thus far when out the blue the flash of light and siren screaming like some hell-bent banshee. Came screeching thru the speeder lane before coming full stop at one of the outlying med bays. And before long the calm silence was broken by a couple of orderly followed close behind by stern-looking individuals who with barely breaking a sweat or so much stride. Rush over to all but take a glance over the seem poor hapless soul that somehow found his way strap upon the gurney that was being wheeled into the hospital. Catching him just in time before he could make it inside for his next scheduled class.

" So what do we got going here now?"

To which the med speeder droid flanking the stretcher began to blurt.

"Not quite sure Doctor but a.....seem to be a male human.... sort found bloodied with oddly unknown clear injury other than one precise puncture wound to the sternum. Surrounding blood seems oddly fresh although the wound itself appears somewhat older judging from initial inspection. ...."

At which time the figure slowly began to stir which alarm the droid along with his human companion. Who no less hurriedly check the restraints that held the individual to the stretcher before making haste to rush it out and strait inside. As he did so with the doctor following close behind began talking.

"...apology Doctor but we must get the patient secured into the psych ward immediately as it appears he's somewhat quite dangerously unstable....barely was able to put him under the last time. So am not gonna chance it a second time...."

And before long once inside the individual was quickly strap then place securely inside that the doctor was all but engrossed by the new odd case before him that given familiar few others case of late. All but put off his next class to focus on handling this new patient personally. Who now all but slowly began to stir awake.....

It had been another shift at the hospital, it had been a busy week and Kat had taken on a lot of cases as she was becoming more and more proficient at healing. While she wasn't the doctor in charge for the ward, she was provably the most capable as well as the one that got along with the other members of staff, such as the nurses and receptionists. As Kat was healing a patient through the Force, she heard commotion of a new patient coming in, it seemed that he had been attacked and he tied down on his way to the psych ward. Sighing, Kat finished with the current patient, healing the worst of the wounds through the Force. Calling a nurse over to provide some aftercare, Kat stepped away and wandered over to the new patient entering the ward.

Placing her hand on his forehead, she attempted to calm him through the Force, ignoring the doctor in charge and looking at the staff attempting to take the patient to the psych ward. "He doesn't need to be sent to the psych ward, he is scared and in pain. Keep him calm and take care of his injuries. If he continues to protest, give some medication to let him sleep since the pain is likely unbearable. However, taking him to the psych ward when he is this seriously injured means that he could die before getting the care needed." Inspecting the injuries, they were very odd and it got Kat's mind whirling as to why this would be happening, who would want to be so creative when murdering someone. It seemed to make no sense at all to the Echani.

"If you wish to argue, save your breath, put him over there and I will get to him shortly after I have cleaned up." Pointing to a corner, far from other patients as she attempted to soothe the pain that Ronin Wendigo Ronin Wendigo was going through but unsure how to heal the wounds at the moment. As she walked over to the cleaning station, she was taking a deep breathe as she thought about the best way to approach the patient in order to best care for him. Looking over to a receptionist approaching Kat, "Hey, something wrong Fran?" Kat asked as she offered a warm smile.

"Someone is here looking to talk about some recent case that might have come through here?" Fran answered, a little unsure how to approach this.

Kat tilted her head, if it had been law enforcement then Fran would have just said a detective or cop, if it had been someone looking for family then Kat was sure Fran would phrase it different. Kat wasn't sure there much that she could say since she attempted to keep a patient's confidentiality best she could when talking to others. Privacy was important to a lot of people. Wandering out of the ward briefly, Kat was holding a datapad with some information that she was reading not even looking up, "hi, so I heard that you were looking for information on a recent case but due to patient confidentiality, I don't think I can offer much information on that?"

It was only after she had completely finished her talking that she paused to look up at who she was talking to. Kat recognised the woman, she was so recognisable but Kat had no idea where from. Then she remembered seeing her on the news, "Oh... Holly Starstorm Holly Starstorm what brings the famous journalist here?" Curiosity got the better of Kat though she wasn't just going to open up about patient secrets for the very attractive reporter.

It was hard to state the vast network of policing, logistics, and management that required Coruscant to run.

It was even harder for Relan to imagine that there would be a gap large enough for whoever this was to fit through. They'd do a few more things, sure- but the killer wouldn't make it too far. Not here, not in the megacity. Then again- this place was constantly in turmoil. Relan's first thoughts were the rubble that many of the current structures were literally built on, or out of. Constant warfare had left many of the structures damaged, and there were many areas that even CorSec had a hard time going through.

Relan turned his head to the examiner. The haircut bit was interesting- but ultimately, a hard trail to follow without knowing the victim's last movements.

Level 18. Not too far down, not too high up. A perfect middleground for a scumbag to just slide by in the galaxy. The smart criminals found a niche and stuck with it, never being too greedy or expansive. Those who made it far in the galaxy didn't expand beyond what they found success in, and that was even especially true in the criminality game. The Exchange, Black Suns- hell, go as far back as the Red Ravens, they found success for being good at particular things and never venturing too far out.

That is, until someone like Relan came along after something like this happened.

"Doc, you've been a great help."

Relan reached into his stylish striped jacket, producing a single white and black card for the man, holding it out to him, but decided to leave it on the table near him, realizing he's been touching a dead guy.

His communicator beeped, chirping to demand his attention. He began to exit the morgue, leaving the doctor and his odd habits to their own devices, and listened intently to the patrol officer reports. Coruscant had eyes and ears everywhere. And Relan just got a pretty good tip. And with that, Relan walked outside, heading to Coruscant General- one of the the thousands of hospitals on the planet. But he felt like it was going to be the big break. He just had to beat everyone else that was going to be sniffing around the supposed victim first.

Reporters, pretty or not, were not the ones that should've been chasing killers.

Coruscant General

It was at that time seem akin to the ebbing tides before gale storm hit land in some distant fade memory from forgotten past. That faint brief calm of slumber was brought about by a mix of exhaustion and few chosen drugs. Pumped and now slowly wane in his system, memories of his earlier encounters with a dark mysterious fiend flooded his mind. Force him to yet again relive the torment of his brief captivity filled with torment mix in with pain deep as much it was overwhelming threat to consume his every waking hour. As such for what it's worth much who he was along with his yeast of training seem faded cause him to slightly regress back to such a primal state. That he could've had easily lash out yet again in a fit of blind rage-filled anger if it were not for the arrival of the healer. Who no sooner place a hand over his forehead and with a calming wave of force. Unintrusive as much it was gentle enough to break thru his inner rage beast within him to cause it to pause. If but a moment that let out a deep sigh his breathing soon slowly taper down from pain-filled panic to a slightly less manic pace. That it gave the Doctor along with the one who'd brought him in moment pause as their eyes met before both turn to her.

Whom seems as she spoke to them and gave her assessment along with choose how to handle their new strange patient. That the one who'd bright Ronin Wendigo Ronin Wendigo all but shrug seem all to eager extract himself from it all spoke up. Just as Kat approached and with care seem continued to do her own assessment of him along with the odd injuries he'd had. Which on all accounts didn't appear bad thought oddly place as much shaped. As they were no more than very precise incision marks no bigger than ballpoint pen tip on his body. Whos placement as much purpose wouldn't defy make any sense on a normal individual yet hid faint clues that one verse with all but forgotten lore dark past may pick up on. Regarding taboo experiments and pseudoscience on certain topics.

" Well fine by me....and beside shift ending so I'll be more than fine just let you two handle this one from here on."

At with that Emergency personnel excuse himself leaving the doctor who by then seeing reason with Kat Decoria Kat Decoria point with slight sigh replied soon cut short by the arrival of other.

"Fine....go on I'll keep an eye on him seeing have a moment to spare till next class proctor."

With that said once to move to the corner instead of the psych ward in the relative stillness and calm Ronin slowly began to reel himself back. Just enough slowly despite weakened state to somewhat fry speak thought come across as nothing more than a faint mumble.

Holly wasnt exactly expecting to get anywhere with the receptionist. What she was hopping to get was the location of the security cameras. She was pleased to see there weren’t any new ones since the last time she had visited. Of course sneaking in was still a bit tough and it didn’t matter if nobody would speak to her anyway. She glanced at the sign on the wall to see who the lead doctor in the ER was. Perhaps this Doctor Avluv would speak to her?

A woman came and asked Holly what she was doing here right after someone else was taken to the ER. Holly watched as the doors slid shut, hiding the ER from view.

“There have been some strange murders in the artisan district. People are terrified. HNN is investigating to see if we can’t find a link between the murders. Have you experienced anything super odd recently?”

Mel kept quiet as someone was wheeled in, her limited experience with the whole scene only giving her the sane sense to stay out of the ordeal going on with the fresh patient. The anxiety that filled the area however made her a little nauseous to say the least as she pressed a hand to her stomach.

It only grew a Holly explained her interest in being here. Mel's eyes went a little wide, the dots connecting in her mind about what Avluv had been griping about and the woman was saying.

She was tight-lipped for the moment, at first content to stay on the sideline and watch it develop, and hoping tensions didn't rise further. Shifting in her seat, she scooted forward a bit more as her ears wiggled in vain effort to hear them clearly.

Maybe if she-

Cursing her morbid sense of curiosity with the whole thing, about like being slack jaw enamored with a speeder crash, she stood and moved over to the desk. Catching the receptionists attention once more, she didn't even need to ask about the doctor as the woman shook her head.

Her ears drooped slightly, but only long enough to show her disappointment as she lingered to hear the conversation better.

It was clear that Holly was on a mission and the importance of this mission was all over her body, Kat tapped several times on her datapad. "I mean, I can't say any information in particular. I know you are on some mission or story, but my job here is pretty decent and I tend to rub off most of the doctors already with Force Healing talents." Kat shrugged as she highlighted a couple of odd cases and was trying to figure out the best way to talk about the cases without breaking the confidentiality she had agreed to as a healer. However, a new idea sprung to mind and it should work with what the journalist was aiming to learn. "Hmmm, so there might be older cases that might be of some interest but I think the best chance if you want something a bit more concrete is talking to a current patient. Guy who just came in. I can heal him and you can ask his permission to talk to him."

It was the best offer Kat had since she didn't have to try skirting her confidentiality rules and she could hand off that the patient chose, in sound mind, to provide the information if any higher up tried to tell Kat off. She tapped away at the datapad before holding, "Also, here is my number, just so that you can contact me if you need any information or someone to keep you safe." While Kat wasn't a Jedi, she was ready to help out others when they were heading into dangerous situations and she was gaining some skills in Jedi Shadow stuff from Allyson Locke.

Leading the way, Kat guided Holly into the ward, then spotted someone else on the desk. "Hey, so you with Holly? Did you want to join us?" Kat asked Melolei Kardul Melolei Kardul since she could tell that they were listening in, having an eye for body language meant that you could tell when someone was clearly listening or not to a conversation and if she was helping out Holly, Kat might as well help this stranger as well. Two birds, one stone. Wandering back over the patient in the ward, Kat placed a hand on his bare chest and started doing some more Force Healing so that she didn't stir the guy when he wasn't in agonising pain. It was pretty draining, especially since it wasn't the usual type of injuries that Kat had come across but she was able to help lessen the pain from the worse ones.

"Hopefully he should wake up in a bit to answer questions if he consents to."

Speaking with a patient was a viable option if the patient knew anything. Either way it got Holly beyond the security desk and she could try and sneak off by herself to find some more information. Journalists were pesky like that.

Holly was a little uneasy looking at the patient. He looked like he had seen his fair share of troubles.

At that time, the Doctor was left to watch over the patient and sneak a moment to assess their new patient out of curiosity. Who for the life of him as best he could try without prying too much couldn't find anything particularly wrong with him. Other than what appears to be a handful of superficial wounds that in his experience and expert opinion not quite enough to cause one. To the relative sheer exhaustion lull him to slumber due to great amount of energy drain he felt as despite having broken free of infernal device that had been hooked onto his now bare chest. That with the sensation of feeling the healer hand rest over it cause him a momentary negative instinctual reaction. As he shudders to recoil as much let out a deep guttural growl born more out of confusion rather than anything. But then again as the faint wave of the healing force reaches his sense that he slowly relent. Letting his breathing slightly calm as weak he was the familiarity of feeling the force soothed him. Especially after feeling as if it had been wrench as much rip or severe out of him by whatever torture it was he'd been subjected to. Leaving him with an undescribable deep-seated pain that what happened that lead him to end up here was all but a blur in his mind. As a voice seem spoke out of the void while his consciousness slowly began to return.

“Can you hear us? We want to help and understand what happened to you.”

To which blindly his face slowly turn to face toward the voice general direction spoke back.

"yes.......pain...others....district..."

As by then faint as it was the force within broke free if but for a moment to reach out brush and try to connect with the healer. Before exhaustion took over and he had slipped back into the darkness. Reassure if but slightly by the healer's presence and action that he was safe let himself relent to resist rest. And hopefully, slowly regain his strength enough to try again.....
