Location: Coruscant - Artisan District : Alley Behind The Crafty Candle Shop
The scene was lit with flash photography snapping at rapid intervals. Bystanders were carefully placed behind the yellow police tape so as not to compromise the scene. Holly was one of those bystanders, albeit one with a press pass. She wasn’t the only journalist looking for a scoop, but she was the only one the lead detective had a sweet spot for. He’d asked her out twice already but Holly had never accepted. Still she wondered if that attraction might be worth a quote or at least a hint at what was happening.
When the police started to walk back towards their cars Holly slipped under the tape and headed in the mans direction.
“Detective! Detective can I have a word?”
He motioned for his partner to keep walking and smiled at Holly.
“For you I’ve got two words. Dinner Saturday?”
Holly smiled but she wasn’t distracted that easily.
“I meant a word about this case.”
His demeanor changed immediately. He shook his head and looked all around to make sure nobody was around.
“You know I can’t doll face. “
“I won’t use your name.”
He hesitated and shook his head again but her big blue eyes won him over.
“The body was covered in wax okay? But you didn’t hear it from me.”
“Wax? Outside a candle shop?”
“Yea it’s a real thinker. Now that dinner?”
“I’ll check my schedule and get back to you.”
Holly was barely paying attention as her mind kicked into overdrive. A body covered in wax found behind a candle shop? There had to be a message there. Had wax been used in the actual murder?
Who did she know in the city morgue these days …
