The Shev'la Kal.

Dubbed The Silvia by his sentimental older brother @[member="Gilamar Skirata"], the Shev, as most others called it, was a marvel of technology. Since before his time in R&D the Mandalorians had excelled in small craft, creating ships such as the Resol'nare and Tra'galaar. One, a silent transport, able to slip by enemy sensors, the other also a transport, with beskar plating, able to take several heavy strikes before going down.

And then there was the Shev. A modern marvel, the ship itself wasn't so big that even cloaked it wouldn't distort the stars too much, fast enough to get in behind enemy lines and drop troops, as seen in the invasion of Dromund Kaas, and heavily armed enough to hold its own against other ships of its class. There was only one downside to this ship in Davin's eyes. Well...there were dozens, but only one that irked him every day and every night.

There was only one.

He understood why though. The Omega Protectorate had tricked one of their earlier leaders into an agreement. Aid for stygium, and a lot of it. The crystal was already incredibly difficult to mine, even more so after the Sith blew a chunk of the planet into space. With a heavy sigh, Davin ran a hand through his black hair and took a sip of caf. Standing up in the dimly lit room, several blue-holo screens providing the only source of light. Every part, every device, every wire of the Shev'la Kal's stealth and power systems were displayed around him. There had to be a way to make a device that could be produced at least on a minor scale, that would give Mandalorian fighters the edge they needed. A proper compliment to the Shev'la Kal.

Sliding a screen away and swapping it with another felt like lifting a thousand tons. Despite what it seemed like, he had been doing this for hours, looking through ancient manuscripts and blueprints. The Sith Empire of long ago had used a stealth ship based on the stygium crystal. In fact they had an entire line of stealth starfighters, though many of them had been destroyed or hidden away from regular use. The designs were archaic compared to what shipbuilding today was, or at least it was in Davin's opinion, and so many questions were still unanswered. How had they gotten such a simple device to work all the time? Maybe it hadn't.

His arm was heavy as he scrolled. The properties of the crystal were the most maddening part of all this. The apparatus needed for focusing the crystal back in the day were nearly impossible to find, and there was no way his older brother would allow him to look at the schematics of the Shev. He needed help, and he didn't know who to turn to.

Another day, another credit. Tossing his work bags onto his desk and his helmet on his plush chair he folded his arms, his eyes falling on the refined stygium crystal sitting in a scanner. Getting that and several other crystals for testing had nearly gotten him killed, but to him it was worth it. Thanks to [member="Ordo"] and several other Mandalorians he and the mining crew were now safe and the slow process of finding and mining the elusive crystals continued. <Computer, bring up the schematics of the Shev'la Kal.> That's right, his brother finally caved and gave him the schematics. Now at lest he had something to go on when it came to creating some sort of device to harness the power of the Stygium crystals.

The device was complicated, large, and took up a large amount of power, forcing the guns into strange positions and taking up a large portion of the ship, causing a small hangar. How would he be able to make this technology smaller for his needs...?
