What to do with the 501st?

Right...

...-So, as the title describes, I have roughly 9,700 Stormtroopers under my sole command and the Chimaera is feeling very crowded...-Especially with the AT-AT's and what have you...*Waves hand dismissively*.

The fact of the matter is I inherited an army that originally served under the Galactic Empire and the Sith Empire and they lack a purpose as of right now. They serve me however and as The Silver Jedi Order has become my new home away from Commenor, their service extends to the SJO under my command.

I want to learn how best to utilize them, I'm looking for input in where they're best suited in regards to the SJO; What that means for me, and how I can fit in and help the faction along.

Up until about three weeks ago, I was a one man army. Now an Admiral of a legion you'd never expect to be working under a Jedi Knight. Perks of making friends with Sith Lord's I suppose...Rest in Peace, Cyril Grayson...

If anyone has any input, advice and what have you. Feel free to speak your minds though I will tag [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and [member="Coci Heavenshield"] pre-emptively as Admin of the Faction, (Sorry to the others, I'm still finding my feet here).

I made a joint base for various special operations forces working under the SJO umbrella, and I think they would fit there as an elite stormtrooper legion. Within the SJO, and abroad, I think the 501st would work great as a highly mobile quick reaction force, and also deploy small units for covert operations. If the Chimeara is crowded, then I'm sure we can get you hooked up with some additional ships to function as assault carriers/dropships, as well as some escort vessels for the Chimeara itself.

Are the 501st troopers fielding any special gear, or are they just using canon stuff? If it's the latter, then I'd be happy to help provide some new subs to update their loadouts. Are you more into leading mechanized, or airborne units

2 cents. Grab yourself an NPC Admiral and build a Battle Squadron fleet. Then work with the FA's to position that fleet on the Mando border working defense.

Aiding in the defense on the border of SJO space facing the Mando's sounds like very smart idea, I've been watching them slowly progress further and further our way since basically the beginning of Commenor's rise as a Minor Faction.

Now contrary to what I have in my possession currently, I'm pretty garbage when it comes to submissions, I'll not beat around the bush there. For a start, I don't have a company to go through outside of the SJO so I'm assuming I might be able to go down that route?

Technically, none.

If the Chimera is now/soon to be a part of the Silver Fleet? You don't need to dev anything. Handwave everything new as being supplied by the Silver military. Poof. Your good.

However, if you mean to make an official modification to the Factory Submission of the Chimera? Then you just need to work with a Factory Judge to get those changes made. Whatever changes those may be.

Tend to put most things on hold when there are "road blocks" like this though I will still look into that battle squadron. I'm assuming that's a new submission and what not lol

I don't do subs. That's factory territory which I actually tend to avoid with a dying passion.

That said? Nah. Your fleet need only be composed of ships that you understand and can describe, explain, or hyperlink, to an opponent in just a few sentences. Things such as,

• What is this ship's specialty, strengths, weaknesses, and position in a battle line.
• How many of what am I committing to battle. IE: A squadron of starfighters is usually 12 ships. I have 4 squadrons. Which is 48 vessels total that can be committed to battle.
• What is my total meterage committed to battle. IE: 5000 meter fleet. 15,000 meter fleet. etc.
• How many ground troops am I carrying right now. (and do I even need them in a space battle?)

The simpler it is, the better.

As, most Fleeters don't really get much into the advanced stuff like: Tracker Beams, Interdiction Strategies, Jamming Shrouds, Superweapons, Nukes, and Electronic Warfare. Nah. Most people just show up and pound each other with turbolasers. Lulz.

So. Do your homework and have a few numbers by your side but, at the end of the day? Just write a story. It's pretty simple.

Hmm if you need disposable but good droid forces Lucerne Labs can provide IX-6 Combat and Security Droids to bolster your forces. Should help to replace losses you suffer. Will also provide an excellent flanking and assault force thanks to their advance communications.

Aren't mass produced, lack light cannons, lack anti-Mando weapons, can't communicate to set up flanks, lack heavy armour, and can't think for themselves as effectively. Plus the IX-6s are set up to protect civvies and operate independently of different friendly units.

Once the holiday break is over, I will put focus into establishing the 501st where they're most needed.

It's taken longer than I'd have liked but with Christmas and IRL priorities, it is what it is
