What The Future Could Hold

Lights sparkled as speeders zoomed by in a rush to get to their destination wherever that maybe. Romeo had long since gone back to the Shadow Realm, a solar system not too far from Axxila, the planet he found himself exploring. He was not neglecting his responsibility as king, but simply taking a breather while a double filled in for him. Something was missing, something wasnt right. He had accepted his fate had given in to the darkness inside, gained more power than he could imagine, and yet there was no more enemies, no more allies, just him. something caressed the back of his neck, as if beckoning him to turn around and look.

Before him were many people, but one stood out among the rest, a blonde near his age, if not a little older, holding man's hand, Was she using the Force? No, there was no sign that the Force was at play here. This was something else. Romeo continued to watch further as she spoke to the man, and if the Sith Lord listened carefully he could make out the words, Your, and Future. A fortune teller? He had never met one before, believing it to be all fake, and white lies. Still, he was curious enough to step up behind the man she was reading. His white hair dance with the red in it as they were a little higher up in the levels of Axxila, here the wind blew constantly.

As she held the hand of the customer before her, Mystie found the words "Your future..." flowing instinctively from her lips. Her chosen profession had begun to be mundane, almost routine. She had perfected the ability to read little clues about those whose fortunes she told, with little to no effort. Mystie had barely uttered the first sentence of her usual spiel, designed to give and gain information from her client, when the feelings began. Mystie felt a wave of emotions rush through her with a strength she had only felt a handle of times in her life. No one besides Mystie had any idea that she was a true empath, able to feel, absorb, and occasionally influence the feelings of those around her. This was a secret Mystic had spent her entire life protecting. She knew these were abilities that would not be seen as acceptable by most and could be abused by many. Mystic's mind raced attempting to identify the subject of these feelings for they had no link to the client before her. Her gifts were extensive enough that simply holding his hand told her all she needed to know and more, he was not the source.
A figure moved into Mystie's sight and she knew immediately, life was about to change. Mystie knew he felt the connection too even though for him it was as simple as being drawn to someone different and a basic curiosity that he couldn't explain.
Mystie allowed years of routine to guide her as she continued reading her customer, never missing a step as she watched the stranger move into line. Mystie's mind frantically reviewed the emotions in preparation of the impending meeting. Mystic knew that both of their lives were about to change drastically, only time would reveal how.

Emotions encircled around the dark lord as he awaited it turn. Red eyes watched her every movement, observing her, realizing she had already felt his own emotions, felt the things that stirred within him. Romeo's hand moved over to his lips, slightly touching the ring that pierced his flesh and rubbing it in thought. Was she a threat, or was this the real deal with palm readers? His hand moved under his black jacket where his weapon was hidden as he moved towards the woman once the other person was finished. He sat down before her, eyes locked with her. For a moment he didn't say anything, too busy staring into her soul. Finally, hand reaching out from under his jacket empty handed, he placed it on the table before her with his palm facing up.

"Is this how it is done?" Romeo's voice came out suddenly cold, but gentle and soft. "I have never done this before, so I do hope you having something pleasant awaiting for me." He never gave his name, nor hinted he wanted to know hers.

Mystie's heart was racing and her mind was whirring as he drew closer. His presence was overloading her senses, it was taking every ounce of self control she possessed to complete the reading of the customer seated in front of her. Time to process what was happening, was not a luxury she was going to have. She caught his movement from the corner of her eye, as his hand moved discreetly under his robe to what she could only assume was his weapon, Mystie knew that this could become a dangerous encounter very quickly if she couldn't regain control. She knew the connection they both felt had him puzzled and that he was assessing her status as friend or foe. Mystic realized her client was now gone and the stranger was seating himself before her, it unsettled her even more because she wasn't sure what had just occurred.
She had no time to examine it now, things were moving too quickly.
Holding his gaze was difficult for her, she could feel him probing and searching her trying to figure out the connection. She could feel bewilderment and confusion, not just hers bit his as well. Fighting the instinct to look away, Mystie felt a calm begin to move over her, as she allowed him his assessment he seemed to become more relaxed. As he placed his hand on the table and Mystie began to regain control, it dawned on her that their feelings had linked in a way that she had only once before.
He was speaking to her, the sound of his voice more important than the words. Mystie found herself unable to speak instead she reached out and took his hand somehow knowing as she did that he would immediately have his answers. As soon as she touched his hand, her voice returned and she found herself smiling and was as surprised as he to hear her utter his name. "Romeo" She could see and feel his confusion stir again.

Feelings swirled around him, and he smirked as he felt it all. Romeo began to feed these emotions, feeling the power surge through him as he did. Her touch was soft, and delicate, making his skin rise with each soft tip of her fingers. He leaned in as she spoke his name, confusion and surprise rising up. "Yes, and no." His voice was a whisper to her, for only her ears. His smirk grew into a grin. "I do not go by that name anymore." He leaned back once more. "Now that you know my name, may I know yours?" A slight warmth rose from his palm as he began to manifest his own powers. His was that of fire control, and heat. "Or should I figure it out on my own?" The heat stayed while his mind began to probe hers, searching for answers, and clues as to why he was drawn to her.

"I am Mystie" she found herself replying. Her smile broadened as she felt the warmth he was sharing with her. There was a confidence and strength that flooded her allowing her to relax and allow him into her mind. While the details were still unclear she sensed that this connection and building of trust was critical. "What name would you prefer I use?" she asked.

Romeo bared his small natural fangs at her. "Mystie, we shall not worry on that just yet. What more do you see?" He leaned in a little excited to see what this woman may tell of himself. "What do you see, that I can not?" His hand then gently gripped hers. "Or am I shrouded in darkness too thick to see through?"

"My skills tell me many things. I know you are not from here. Your ring has an importance to you that brings peace and comfort when you are stressed. You hold a position of power in your home land, but you have walked away for reasons I do not yet know." She watched him intently as she spoke, trying to gauge his reaction to her words. Her words seemed to intrigue him, she could see it in his eyes and feel it radiating from his touch. She continued "My abilities are extensive but not always accessible on my time frame. Right now I can sense your feelings more prominently that anything else. I sense darkness, anger, and power. I feel your uncertainty and your feelings that there is more. Something is missing and you are on a mission to find out what. I know our destinies are intertwined, yet I do not know the details." As his grip tightened on her hand Mystie paused so he could process her words, holding his gaze she awaited his response.

He closed his eyes, searching her for anything special, and all he could find was emotion, raw and powerful. Maybe she too thirsted for something new. "If I said I could take you from here, and show you new places, would you come with me?" He slid his free up over to the top of hers as he held it. "If I asked you for guidance, would you give it to me?" He opened his eyes filled with adventure, and passion. "Leave this behind, and do something greater with the power you possess, also let me treat you to dinner." Suddenly Romeo winked, and that crazy part of him began to unfold.

As he asked his questions, Mystie felt a stir she had not felt in ages. There was an impulsive, spontaneous side of her nature that craved adventure and freedom. Mystie had spent many years keeping that part of herself under tight control. Harsh criticism and judgement over much of her younger years had taught her that most of those around her found these traits undesirable and unworthy. Therefore while she was known by many for her skills at palm reading and astute observation, she had managed to keep her real abilities hidden.
"Yes, I will come with you. I will guide to the best of my abilities. I must forewarn you that even I do not know the full extent of my gifts. I have spent years hiding and denying them. I am uncertain why I am telling you these things. All I can say is I am following an instinct I have no words to explain." Mystie paused, taking a moment to reflect on how she felt when he had winked at her, the passion and adventure she had not just seen in his eyes but had felt flow through her. His offhand dinner invitation, was it serious or merely a joke meant to put her at ease. Either way, she knew she had only one choice. Mystie found herself shyly whispering "and yes, I will join you for dinner."

Romeo stood up with a twist of his heel and a bow to the people behind him. "My friends, the fortune teller is done for the day I am afraid. Please come back another time." Rising up, danger filled his eyes as he remarked a small threat. "And anyone who wishes to argue this...may speak up now, other wise...I suggest you turn and leave." The Vahla's head slightly turned to look behind to place his eyes on the blonde. "Shall we leave now, or...is there something you need to finish first? I promise you, these souls will do nothing with what you tell them. They are husks with little life." Romeo had always been an elitist, and somewhat racist towards other humans and near humans. It was the imperial in him.

The disdain in his voice as he turned away her customers angered her. A spark lit in her burning as hot as any wildfire. Who did he think he was to drop into her world and try to assert his control. She locked gazes with him "I will argue with you" she stated softly yet sternly. "I will complete my work before I go anywhere. You may return after hours, if you wish" She could feel immediately the shock mixed with disbelief and amusement radiating from him as she continued to speak. "I have agreed to join you on your travels and to guide as needed, I have not agreed to be controlled by you." She felt her anger continue to build as she was flooded by memories of those who had come before, those who had manipulated and controlled. She felt his confusion at the wrath he had triggered by his cocky demands. She knew that standing her ground and refusing to be manipulated by him was somehow as important to their bond as trust. He must know that she would speak her mind even at the risk of angering him. "Understood!?!?"

Shock and anger filled him as he listened to her voice. She thought she could speak to a Lord of the Sith in such a manner? Then he let it go, this was what he neededd. Not blind loyalist, but people who could think on their own and speak on their own. With a slight bow, he smirked devilishly.

"Understood, so long as you realize you ever yell at me again..."

His hand reached behind him, and with the use of his own power, grabbed the next person in line without harming them to sit them down where Romeo had once been.

"...that my powers go beyond something more than you think."

His eyes watched every one of her customers, he had been embarrassed. and has true to his nature, he would return the favor one day. Of course, he would make sure no one else would see it, he would savor the moment, all for himself.

As her remaining customers scattered in fear, Mystie stood her ground. She refused to be intimidated by him.Her eyes locked with his as she spoke in almost a whisper "I did not raise my voice. I simply refused to bow to your whim."
To an outside observer she appeared calm and confident as she turned to go inside, in truth she was shaking with anger. His power neither scared not intimidated her, his tantrum equivalent to that of a spoiled child. To speak to her in such a way was unacceptable, she would willingly assist where she could, but she would accept orders from no one ever again.
Pausing at the doorway, she turned back toward him "I caution you against underestimating me, what you see is not all that there is. I will not be bullied nor controlled. If you want something of me, then ask. I will either comply or not, but it will always be by my choice." She knew he was already plotting his revenge for her audacity and she was more than capable of handling whatever revenge he chose when the time came. Quietly she asked "Shall we continue this conversation inside?? If I am to join you, I must prepare"

His hands were now clinched in fists as he listened further to her words, not caring about who was now in fear and running from the scene. They were cowards, and lowly beings in his eyes, that was his imperial way. Regardless...he would not let this woman continue to toy with his own anger, it was his to control, and use when he wished. Why, though, was this woman so easily able to get under his skin, was it because she could sense his emotions whether he liked it or not?
Taking a breath, Romeo took a few steps towards her, closing his eyes as he attempted to calm down. "Yes ma'am." Was all he could mutter under his breath. Indeed, he had forgotten what it was like to be exiled. To have to fend for one's self. As he followed her, he realized these things, and knew that being the brat Razer, his brother, was not what he was meant to be. What had happen to the humble being he once was?
"My apologies..." He finally said when they were inside. "...I am...unsure on brought that out." Suddenly, he took a knee, why he did this, he did not understand. "Forgive me."

As he spoke, she felt his confusion and remorse were genuine. As he dropped to his knee and asked forgiveness, it was more than she could bare. She felt herself move toward him and take his hand, "Stand, my Lord... All is forgiven, you are who you choose to be. You are nothing like your brother." Her words spoken as gently as possible obviously surprised him. She felt his confusion again, the questions flooding her mind as if he had spoken aloud. Focusing intently on him, she replied " I don't know, I don't know how I know, simply that I do." Impulse guided her as she leaned forward, stretching as needed and gently kissed his cheek. "This is a journey we make together and figure out one mistake at a time. I accept your apology and give absolute forgiveness." As she released his hands and turned to go pack she had another thought "Romeo" she said gently "never go to your knee for me or anyone else again. You are king, whether you choose to be or not. I will not see you bow before anyone, especially not me. All I ask is to be treated properly so that I can advise you well."
Mystic was beginning to tire, the emotional rollercoaster was draining her rapidly. She realized that hunger was setting in and she had forgotten to eat. She found herself grinning as she said sweetly "Now if I remember correctly, you sir, owe me dinner. May we go now?"

Romeo took her words into note regardless of her knowing of his...past, and present. He did not have to speak for her to know, and that was something he never had before. Someone who knew without words needed. Standing straight, a roguish grin filled his face. "You have two options here, I can take us anywhere you want to eat, or...we can return to my ship, and I can cook up something special for you. Yes I, a king, cook my meals on my own." He rubbed the back of his neck. "To tell the truth, there is not much to being a king. Simple commands, yes, no, sure...but I refused to go back into war. This will be a nice change of pace for me."

As much as she appreciated his offer to take her anywhere, she knew that he only ate food he had prepared himself. The offer was a genuine one but one he hoped she would not accept. As she replied a sparkle in her eyes, a dead giveaway of her curiosity and excitement at the thought of not only pleasing him but being invited into his personal space. "Your ship, of course. We shall see how well the king can cook." Her wink and mischievous smile said it all. "Will we be returning?" she asked.

Winking at the woman, he held his arm out for her to take. He loved to cook, it was a great past time other than fencing and the occasional campaigning to rid his planet of rebels. Well then I guess we must be on our way." As to her other question he chuckled a little bit with the answer: "Only if you wish to come back. Who knows, you may want to spend the night." Once more he winked at her. Romeo stood taller than most humans, and his pale look along with most of the colors in his hair gave weird looks his way. He did not care.

Taking his arm, she laughed and shook her head. His humor contagious, flowing through her. She teased " My Lord, I am shocked!! Do you imply that I can be lured into your bed so easily?" She tilted her head, glancing up at him with a mischievous smile and a wink. " I have committed to dinner, travelling with you, guiding you where I can... now you think my body should be part of the package too. Jeez, how much more is a woman to give. I am not making another decision of any sort until you fulfill your mission of the moment. Dinner, please..."
